**Blake’s POV**

She said yes without hesitation.

I stood by the floor-to-ceiling window, the city stretching beneath me like a kingdom waiting to be claimed.

June Harper. A human. A complete outsider. And yet, she had walked into my office, looked me dead in the eye, and agreed to date a man she had just started working for.

That alone made her dangerous.

Most people faltered when faced with raw power. She didn’t.

Interesting.

The meeting should have held my attention. Numbers, projections, damage control, the usual corporate routine.

The minute it was over, I reached for my phone just as it vibrated against the mahogany desk. The name flashing across the screen was expected.

I answered with a single word. “Mother.”

“You’ve lost your mind.” No greeting. No pleasantries. She went straight for the throat.

I leaned back in my chair, entirely unbothered.

“Good morning to you, too.”

“Do not play games with me, Blake. I just read in the papers that you’ve rejected the arrangement.”

*Arrangement.* That was her word for it.

“I didn’t exactly reject it,” I said calmly. “I replaced it.”

“With what?” she asked, her voice dropping an octave.

“With someone more suitable.”

“The other girl was chosen for a reason, Blake. Bloodlines matter.”

“And so does competence. This one was chosen for a reason, too.”

Another pause stretched through the line, longer this time. “You’re certain?” she asked finally.

I didn’t hesitate. “Yes.”

A slow, weary exhale came through the speaker. “You’d better be right,” she warned. “Because if this fails, it won’t just affect you. It affects the entire dynasty.”

“I’m aware.”

“You’ll arrange a meeting,” she commanded. “I want to see her for myself.”

“You will.”

The call ended without another word.

I set the phone down, my gaze drifting toward the closed office door.

June Harper had no idea what she’d stepped into. She had no idea who she really was in this world, or how long the gears had been turning to bring her here. And yet, she had accepted the deal. That courage or perhaps that desperation—made her more valuable than any bloodline could.

The thought of her alone made my pulse jump, and I hated that it did. I looked down at my already bulging cock, screaming to be let out. I hated that her scent could do that to me.

A quiet knock sounded. “Enter.”

One of the staff stepped in, his posture rigid as a stone pillar. “Sir… Miss Harper is no longer in her room.”

I didn’t look up from the tablet on my desk. “I know.”

A brief, nervous hesitation. “Should we—?”

“No.”

That was all it took. He bowed his head and left immediately.

I pushed away from the desk and straightened my cuffs. Nathan had returned earlier than expected. And June… she was exactly where I knew she would be.

The hallway was quiet as I moved through it. Everything was exactly as it should be, except for one thing, the door ahead was slightly ajar.

I pushed the door open.

The room wasn't empty; it was tense. June was on her knees, hands tied behind, her attention locked on the man in front of her. Nathan was standing with his dick on her face. His posture was relaxed, amused, and entirely predatory.

He didn’t move when I entered, neither did he step back or acknowledge me. Of course he wouldn’t.

I didn’t look at him at first. I looked at her. Her breathing wasn't steady, and her shoulders were tight, but she wasn't panicking.

Only then did I shift my gaze to my brother. Nathan met it easily, a faint, mocking smirk tugging at the corner of his mouth.

“You’re early,” he said, his voice a low drawl.

“I’m on time.”

Neither of us moved. Neither of us needed to.

“You’ve been busy,” Nathan added, his tone light, though his eyes remained sharp as glass.

“I could say the same for your work in the North.”

His gaze flicked briefly toward June, then back to me. “She’s interesting. Small. Fragile.”

“I’m aware.”

The silence became charged, the air thick with the scent of ozone and old rivalry. Nathan tilted his head slightly. “You didn’t tell me you were bringing a human into the house, Blake.”

“I didn’t need to.”

That earned a quiet, jagged laugh. “Right. King of the castle.”

He didn’t step away from her.

I let the silence stretch just long enough to let the weight of my authority settle over the room. Then, I spoke.

“Step away.”

My voice wasn't raised. I didn't repeat myself.

Nathan held my gaze for a heartbeat longer, challenging me in the silent way only he could. Then, slowly, he moved. Not because he had to, but because he chose to. That was the game we played.

My attention returned to June.

“Come here.”

She scrambled to her feet in a hurry. I could hear her heartbeat, she was scared even though she managed to hide it.

Her face flushed pink as she walked toward me. Her scent hitting me immediately made my cock twitch in my pants.

She was embarrassed and walked past me before I held out my hand to stop her.

“I apologize for my brother's rudeness."

Nathan scoffed as he picked up a towel.

"He has no regard for humans, he sees them as mere play things. Do try to avoid him as much as you can.”

I turned my gaze to my brother. “As for you, show some respect to your In-law."

That got his attention.

"What?”

"You heard me, Nathan.”

"Since when, she isn't even… well mother won't approve."

“That's my business and not yours.”

I turned my attention back to June who by the way was both wet and confused.

“Let's go, you don't want to be late on your first week.”

She nodded and walked out of the room hurriedly without another word.

I had to admit, it wasn't really looking good for her. But it's what she signed up for.

  • Their Obsession, My ruin   All dressed up

June's pov"Take off your clothes."I nearly dropped the glass of water I was holding. I gasped, coughing slightly as a few drops spilled onto my shirt. The woman standing in the middle of my bedroom didn't even blink. She was impeccably dressed in a sharp grey pantsuit, her silver hair pulled back into a tight, flawless bun. Behind her, three younger assistants stood in a straight line, holding massive, heavy garment bags."Excuse me?" I asked, wiping my mouth with the back of my hand."Mr. Grayson paid forty thousand dollars for that dress," she said flatly, checking a sleek tablet in her hand. "And I need to make sure it fits perfectly. We have exactly four hours before the Gala. Strip, please."My jaw dropped. I had never experienced anything like this in my life. Before I could even protest, the woman waved her hand, and the assistants moved in like a well-trained military unit. For the next three hours, my bedroom was turned into a high-end luxury salon. I was poked, prodded, br

June's povI didn't sleep at all that night. Every time I closed my eyes, I kept seeing Blake’s dark, serious face or Nathan’s wicked smile. When the clock finally struck twelve, I was standing outside his heavy oak office door. I took a deep breath, knocked once, and pushed it open.Blake was sitting behind his massive desk. He looked immaculate, his black suit perfectly tailored, but there was a dangerous edge to his posture. He didn't look up immediately. He finished typing something on his laptop, closed it with a soft click, and then fixed his dark, intense gaze on me."Sit down, June," he said, his voice a low, commanding baritone.I walked over and sat in the leather chair across from him, crossing my legs tightly. I wanted to look brave, but my heart was hammering against my ribs. "Are you going to fire me?" I asked, getting straight to the point. "Or is this where you cancel the contract?"Blake leaned back in his chair, a cold, dark smile touching his lips. "Cancel the con

June's pov "Put that photograph down, June."Nathan’s voice didn't sound like him at all. It was too quiet. Instead of putting it down, I gripped the silver frame tighter. "You three looked really close," I whispered, looking from the bright, laughing faces in the picture to the dark, rigid expression on his face. "You, Blake, and Parker. What did you do to each other?"Nathan didn't answer with words. In two long strides, he crossed the floor of the loft. Before I could even blink, his large hand clamped over mine, his long fingers forcing my grip off the silver frame. He used his bulk to crowd me, pressing his chest right against mine until the small of my back hit the bookshelf. The heavy books rattled behind my head."I told you to put it down," he breathed, his face inches from mine. The air between us instantly turned hot. "You're hurting me," I lied, my voice dropping to a breathy whisper.Nathan’s eyes darkened, turning a shade of amber that made my knees weak. He didn't

  • Their Obsession, My ruin   Anywhere but here

June's pov"You have exactly five minutes to get dressed before I leave without you."I groaned loudly into my pillow, pulling the blanket over my head to block out the light. "Good. Leave.""You're coming with me," Nathan said, his voice dropping all its usual playfulness.I rolled over, my eyes squinting against the bright morning sun. Nathan was standing in my bedroom doorway again. "Why?" I asked, sitting up and pushing my hair out of my face.Nathan grinned, a wicked spark in his eyes. "Because my brother would absolutely hate it."That was honestly the strongest argument he had made all week.Forty minutes later, I found myself sitting in the passenger seat of Nathan's sleek black SUV while the busy city streets stretched out around us. Blake had already left the estate hours ago for his urgent board meeting. Nathan had apparently taken his brother’s absence as a personal invitation to take me out of the mansion."So, where exactly are we going?" I asked, looking out the window

  • Their Obsession, My ruin   The wrong brother

June's povThe first person who knocked on my bedroom door the next morning wasn't Blake. It was Nathan, carrying a tray of pancakes and a whole lot of bad decisions.I cracked the door open and just stared at him through the narrow gap. He grinned back at me. "Good. You're awake." I looked down at the silver tray in his hands. He had piled it high with pancakes, fresh fruit, a steaming mug of coffee, and what appeared to be an entire, unopened bottle of maple syrup."Nathan," I said."June.""What exactly are you doing?""Being the favorite brother."I blinked, my hand still gripping the edge of the door. "You only have one brother.""Exactly. The competition isn't difficult."Before I could even think about stopping him, he used his shoulder to push past me, strolling right into my bedroom like he owned it."Hey!" I protested, turning around."Relax." He set the heavy tray down on a nearby side table and immediately made himself comfortable on the velvet couch, stretching his arms

  • Their Obsession, My ruin   Welcome back

June's pov The air in the room was so thick with heat I could barely breathe. Maybe it was because Blake was standing so close I could feel the warmth radiating off his skin.Or it was because of the last forty-eight hours—the lies, the brutal fight, and the terrifying photographs sitting on the mattress. Maybe it was because Blake had just admitted more in five seconds than he had in the entire time I’d known him.He wanted to break things at the mere thought of me leaving. I should have walked away. Instead, my stomach did a violent flip as his eyes dropped to my lips.Blake took a slow step forward, completely erasing the distance between us. He reached out, his large hand cupping the side of my neck. His thumb brushed right over the tender mark he had left there weeks ago, and a jolt of pure electricity shot straight down my spine."June," he murmured, his voice a low, rough growl."Blake," I whispered back, my hands instinctively reaching out to find purchase against his ches
