Chapter 1

ผู้เขียน: Lily Adams
Just a moment earlier, I had called the wedding off.

Since in their game, the bride could be replaced at any time, I should be allowed to choose not to have the groom.

I no longer wanted any of them.

I had just walked out of the hall when Vincent Anderson grabbed my wrist from behind.

The cut on my finger from when he had pulled the ring from my finger was still bleeding.

He frowned.

He took out his handkerchief from his pocket and pressed it against my wound.

"Did you really have to hurt yourself like this over a game?"

He was being very gentle.

It was as though he had not just pulled the ring from my finger with force just moments ago.

I looked at him as he looked down and asked, "What's the right answer? Black or blue?"

Vincent suddenly paused in the middle of treating my wound.

"Black."

"What about your gastritis?"

"Oatmeal porridge," he said without hesitation.

It turned out that he knew that I had answered every question correctly.

He also knew that Anna Reid had answered everything wrong.

But he still declared me the loser, just like everyone else.

I withdrew my hand from his.

"Why?"

Vincent sighed.

"Anna's never been the center of attention since she was a young girl.

"She just wanted to feel how it feels to be a bride.

"You're the person I'm going to marry tomorrow anyway. Letting her win a few rounds isn't going to cost you anything."

I looked at the blood on my finger.

It turned out that to him, my wedding heels, bridal bouquet, and wedding ring were not important as long as he gave me the title of Mrs. Anderson.

As for my dignity, my pride, and the feeling of being chosen, he could squash it in favor of Anna.

When Vincent saw that I was no longer talking, he said softly, "Listen, after our wedding ceremony tomorrow, I'll get her to apologize to you in person.

"Now, come back with me. Don't make everyone wait for you."

After that, he reached out to hold my hand. I took a step back.

"I'm tired. I want to go back to my room to rest."

Vincent's face fell slightly, but he did not stop me.

"Fine. Once you've calmed down, just ping us in the group chat.

"Anna thinks you're mad at her. She's been crying."

He took a few steps forward before turning around to remind me.

"Don't forget to send the veil to the suite.

"The wedding shoes don't match what she's wearing. She wants to see how it looks like to have the full set on."

  • They Gave My Groom to My Best Friend   Chapter 12

After that, Vincent visited my city every year. Sometimes, he bought me a white bellflower. Other times, he would only glance at me from afar. I had never accepted his flowers nor met him in private. After three years, my project ended. I didn't return to the city I'd left behind. Instead, I accepted an offer from a different organization. Before I left, Vincent showed up at the airport again. He did not ask me to stay. Instead, he passed me my wedding book. "I went back through every part of the wedding you planned."In the past, I felt that the wedding didn't matter that much."Only after everything happened did I realize that you had spent an entire year planning our future."I destroyed it with my own hands."I took the book and threw it into the trash in front of him. Vincent's face turned pale, but I only smiled. "You don't have to keep things from the past." The announcement was calling for boarding. I walked forward with my suitcase. Vincent stopped me

During the first month after I left, Vincent still did not believe it.He sent me emails every day. [I bought our house back.][Anna moved out.][The ring is off. I didn't let Anna keep it.][I got someone to fix your mother's wedding gown too.][When are you coming back?]Every email disappeared into silence. I never replied. The next month, he removed Anna from her position at Anderson Corporation. The friends who had played the game came to plead on Anna's behalf. "Anna was just playing along!"You're the one who made all the decisions!"Vincent looked at them, and he was at a loss for words. Everyone had pushed things a little further. However, he was the one who delivered the final blow. He had no right to dump all the blame on Anna.Brenda was hospitalized for high blood pressure brought on by her anger. She lay in the hospital bed, cursing me out."It was just a game!"Vincent has already humbled himself. What else does she want?"Vincent stood next to

The next day, Vincent went to all the places that I could have possibly visited. He went to my mother's grave, the apartment that I stayed in before, our university, and the restaurant where we had our first date. No one at those places had seen me.In the afternoon, the lawyer, Dan William, passed him a box. It had the pearl hairpin and the torn-up wedding gown.Vincent's face fell. "Why are you giving these to me?"Dan said calmly, "Ms. Harrison says she no longer wants them.""Her mother left these for her. How could she possibly not want them?""Mr. Anderson…"Dan looked at him. "Ms. Harrison cherished these dearly, but she said that since someone else had worn them at her wedding, they no longer carried her mother's blessing."She no longer wants to see them."What frightened him more than me taking anything away was that I had begun throwing away the things I'd once treasured most.I could let go of the jewelry or the wedding gown. He wondered what I felt abo

When Vincent returned to the bridal suite, he found the room empty. My clothes were not there, and my suitcase was nowhere to be seen. On the dressing table were a few tags I had torn off.The thick wedding book that I had prepared was still there. It detailed the year-long preparation that I had made. Vincent flipped it open. The first page was about the wedding theme color. [Vincent doesn't like bright colors, so I chose white bellflowers.]The next page was the wedding menu. [Vincent has gastritis, so I changed all greasy food to healthier options.]Then, the next page was the drinks page.[I've prepared some medicine for Vincent so he won't be sick after drinking.]Every single page of the thick book had notes on them related to him.It made remarks on his likes, dislikes, and his health.I had barely mentioned myself. Vincent suddenly recalled the questions from the game. They had asked me about his favorite color, his favorite food to eat when he had gast

However, after the ceremony was over, Vincent was not delighted by his victory. He pushed open the lounge door. "Is Fiona here?"His assistant, Henry Swift, shook his head. "No. "We still can't get through to her phone." Vincent tore his bowtie away. "Go to her place and bring her here." "Mr. Anderson, Ms. Harrison already ended her lease."She's also completed her handover at work." Vincent abruptly stopped. "When did that happen?""Yesterday." Yesterday was the day they had played the game. Vincent had a bad feeling for the first time. "What about our house?""The lawyer has just informed me that the purchase agreement has been terminated. "Ms. Harrison has withdrawn her name. "The money that you paid will be returned to the company account." Vincent stared at Henry as if he hadn't understood a word. "What right did she have to pull out?"Half of the down payment came from the inheritance her mother left her." "Ms. Harrison authorized her lawyer t

At the wedding, Vincent stood in the lounge as he called me for the third time. However, the call did not get through. His best man, Jackson Dunne, said cautiously, "Vincent, it's almost time for the entrance. "Fiona's not back yet. What do we do?"Vincent slammed the phone onto the table. "She'll come back. She prepared for this wedding for a full year. There's no way she'd really give up on this wedding."Everyone took that for granted. After all, I was the one who gave in first whenever we had an argument. When Vincent forgot our anniversary, I told myself that he was just busy with work. When he accompanied Anna to see the doctor on my birthday, I told myself that Anna was an orphan, so she needed someone to take care of her. Even last night, they thought that I would be the one apologizing in the end. I loved Vincent so much that everyone thought that I would never leave. Brenda walked in with a grim expression. "Is she still not picking up?"Vincent did no
