CHAPTER 13: UNVEILING DESTINY

"Hey there!" Avery calls out when I enter, shutting the door behind me. "You're back."

"In the flesh," I reply with an exaggerated air kiss. "Did you miss me?"

Avery momentarily fixes her gaze on me, then shifts her attention to her Netflix account.

"Nah," she responds nonchalantly, chuckling slightly.

I shake my head at her antics and grab a bean bag chair to sit beside her while she selects our first movie for the night.

"So, who were you with this time?" she inquires as she scrolls through the list of romantic comedies.

"Jake and Darrell, though not simultaneously," I answer, prompting a snort from her.

"What am I going to do with you?" Avery sighs, shaking her head. I reach for a piece of popcorn she had prepared earlier and munch on it.

"Oh, come on, like you're any different," I tease.

"Hey!" She playfully shoves me, and we both laugh. "I'll have you know that when I'm in a relationship, I'm completely loyal."

"Believe me, I know. I just don't know how you manage it."

Avery roll
