Handling The Situation

ALEXA

I had already said the word before I began to regret it. It seemed like a party I didn’t even want to be involved with.

Donald held a bouquet of flowers.

Noelle was obviously on Donald’s side, which wasn’t surprising, but their expressions were enough to tell that they weren’t having a lovely conversation before I showed up. I had no idea that Mark and Donald had already arrived.

I really wished that I could just turn around and walk away without being noticed because I didn’t want to be a part of this, but it was already too late.

They all turned and looked at me.

Well, now that I was here, I might as well handle the situation. Not like I had a choice anyway.

“What is going on here?” I asked again.

Before I could blink, Donald walked up to me and tried to kiss me on the mouth. It was a good thing that I saw it coming early enough and I dodged it. To cover up for that, he hastily perked my cheeks.

Even if Mark wasn’t standing right here, I wouldn’t have allowed him to kiss me.

She was like that when I arrived last night, and even till when we slept off, and it didn’t make me leave, so it wouldn’t start making me feel bad, and besides, I would have to leave this morning anyway. MARKI paced around my living room floor, worried sick.“You are going to bore a hole through your floor, Mark,” Vector told me.“She is not at her apartment, Vector, and the cop has no idea where she could possibly have gone,” I snapped. “That was his damn job!” I bellowed in annoyance.“Not to upset you, Mark, but his specific job was to watch over her apartment and to ensure that no one came in to harass or assault her,” Vector said. “He only did the right thing by informing you of what he thought,” Vector added.I glared at him.He knew that I didn’t care for his damn opinion in moments like this, and yet, he gave it anyway, making me more upset.“Were you expecting him to follow her around?” Vector asked.“You have just upset me, Vector,” I responded.“I am sorry,” he apologized, raising his hand in surrender like he always did.“If you know you are going to be pissing me off all night, then you might as well leave,” I told Vector.“I am here because you sounded deeply worried ab

ALEXAGina and I stared at each other for a few seconds without saying a word, but I couldn’t stop thinking about what I just saw.Noelle had always been hammering on the uncanny resemblance between Gina and the forgotten actress, but I never paid her any mind.Even when she showed me this exact picture and I had noticed that the younger girl looked like Gina, I hadn’t dwelt on it.Gina’s hair color was different now, and the picture was taken several years ago, so she didn’t look exactly like that anymore, but now, I realized that it was because Gina had changed her looks.“You are Lina Barry’s sister,” I repeated.“No, I am not,” Gina said, snapping. She hadn’t said a single word since, and the first thing she thought to do was deny something that was glaring? The way she even held the picture possessively and tightly to her chest as though it would be taken away from her confirmed my suspicion.“Yes, you are,” I responded firmly. “But how…?” I started to ask, but confusion made my

ALEXAGoing to my dad’s house would have been an option if he knew what was happening, but there were reasons why I didn’t want to.My dad would immediately suspect that something was wrong if he saw me there because he knew that I wouldn’t just show up there to spend the night on my own accord.I didn’t even think I wanted to go back there and have to see Clara. There was only one place my mind could think of, and I found myself right in front of her door. I intentionally did not go with my car because I didn’t think I could drive in my state of mind.I rang the doorbell and Gina opened the door. Her eyes widened with shock when she saw me.“Alexa, what are you doing here?” She asked me.“Hi, Gina,” I greeted, trying to force a smile.Gina looked around outside her apartment hastily, and fear crossed her eyes, making me wonder why she seemed so afraid to be seeing me here.“It’s just me,” I answered the question that she didn’t ask, but that didn’t seem to pacify her.“What are you d

  • Till Divorce Do Us Part   Day Of Doom

MARK“I bet you don’t, huh?” Mr. Donald asked further, sneering.Of course, I remembered vividly; only recently anyway.I had driven to a hotel where I suspected Ivy had been because that was the first time I had suspected her of something. I heard her talking about it on the phone, and so I had followed her. Then when I followed her into the room, and found her with Oscar, I had stormed out in annoyance and hurt, gotten into my car, and driven out of the hotel, and then the accident had happened, leading to a coma.I didn’t remember the accident long after I came out of coma, otherwise, I wouldn’t have fallen for Ivy’s lies and gotten back together with her, but I later did, and I hadn’t forgotten about it ever since.“I do,” I responded, turning to Mr. Devon again. “But what has that got to do with this?” I asked.I thought that our conversation was over, and that I already knew what I needed to know, but apparently, I was wrong.“Do you also remember that we did have a conversation
