Chapter Fifty Nine

"Hey, are you okay?". Andrei asked Anna as they sat in the car waiting for the jet to arrive. His mother was finally arriving today and they'd come to pick her up but the jet was a few minutes late.

Anna looked up from her phone to her husband. "I think what happened yesterday has finally pushed Leon over the edge." She said.

"Why do you say that?".

"I called him this morning but he didn't pick up and when I tried again, his phone was switched off. He's never not picked my call." She replied. "And now, I asked him if he would come home today... he's yet to respond."

"I don't want you to stress yourself." Andrei told her. "Give him some time."

"You don't think he hates me now right?". She questioned tearfully. "He didn't want me to touch him last night."

Andrei framed her face in his hands and kissed her lightly before he wiped her tears with his thumbs. "He doesn't hate you. He doesn't hate me. He's just... in a really dark place right now."
