Chapter 4

Looking exasperated, Hilda sneered. "What do you know?"

At that very moment, a knock was heard. Calmly Nathan said. "Come in."

Walking in Stanley brought a shopping bag. Handing it over to Nathan, "Sir, the dress you requested for."

Taking the bag, Nathan handed it to Hilda. "Your dress. You can get changed now."

With the bag in her hand, she entered the bathroom.

After some time she came out. Noticing that the dress fit her perfectly Nathan smiled.

Looking at him who was smiling, she berated. "What's funny?"

Shaking his head, he said nothing.

Taking her bag she looked at the man and said. "About what happened last night... erm I am grateful but can we act like nothing happened. We are adults after all."

Looking at her with a smile on his face he nodded. "Sure, but I want to help you."

Noticing the look of confusion on her face he continued. "Don't you want to take revenge? I can help you."

"Why would you want to help me?" Hilda asked.

"Because I want you to be my woman."

Dumbfounded she smirked. "Why would you want me as your woman? After all you don't know me."

Smiling mischievously he said calmly "Who said I don't know you? You are Miss Hilda Adams, and I saw your body last night."

Stunned she glared at him. "You jerk! You are shameless."

Nathan's gaze darkened.

Taking a step closer to her with the smile still plastered on his face, she took a step back. With each step he took, Hilda took a step back. Finally backing her into a corner, he leaned closer.

Looking at the man who seemed to be getting closer, Hilda's heart started beating faster. Looking up at him, she met his brown eyes which seemed deep like a bottomless abyss. Narrowing his eyes, Nathan blew his warm breath on her neck.

The warm breath on her neck made her skin tingle. He then extended his hand to pin her against the wall. Looking down, he cupped her chin his his hand. Leaning down, he chuckled. "This is what is called being shameless."

Snapping out of her daze, Hilda beckoned. "Let's go of me." Shoving him back, she took a few steps backwards herself.

Hilda didn't want to be close to him because he made her heart beat uncontrollably. "Don't expect me to be your woman just because you saved me last night."

Brushing his fingers on her smooth and soft face, "Miss Adams, you are rejecting the proposal of being my woman violently. I'm the only man who can give you the happiness you deserve. How about you think about it then?"

"But why do you think that?" He knows my situation here so why does he want me to be his woman? "Who are you?" Looking confused Hilda asked.

"Who I am should not matter. Just know I want to help you." Taking out his card he handed it to her.

"Miss Adams, I will be expecting your good news soon."

Starring blankly at the card in her hand with the details 'Mr. Nathan Clemon, CEO of Clemon Group.' she was shocked.

Raising her head, the man was already gone.

The Clemons family was the most powerful family in Taadi City. With the bys of the Michel family then the Anderson family and the Fleming family. This four families were know as the big four in Taadi city.

Thinking about his breath on her neck a while ago which was flirty but loving and not lustful, she blushed.

Gripping the complimentary card in her hands tightly, she lowered her head. After this incident, the name Nathan Clemon would occupied some space in her mind which would be impossible to erase.

Walking out, she thought. Why does a powerful man like Mr. Clemons want to help an infamous person like her?

Exiting the club, She hailed a taxi back to her apartment.

Upon arriving, she noticed two people waiting at the door of her apartment. Looking closer, she noticed it was Daniel and Carmen.

When Carmen saw her, she walked closed to her and said, "You are back Hilda. We have been waiting for you for a while now."

Furrowing her eyebrow, she turned to leave but suddenly felt a grip on her hand. 

Looking up she noticed it was Carmen who was looking at her anxiously. "Hilda."

Flinging her hand away, she noticed the grip was held tightly. "Where did you go last night sis? Daniel and I have been waiting for you. We were really worried."

Hilda smiled "Worried? Were you guys really worried about me?.

Walking over, Daniel answered "Don't talk like that. I know what we did was wrong but Carmen and I really love each other. When you were gone for the past two years, It was Carmen who help me through all those hard times. So Hilda, you..."

Without waiting for him to finish Hilda laughed. "Hah. So you knew I was out there all this while, why didn't you call to tell me anything eh? Everytime I called you were busy haha.. I was stupid to believe you all those times. And you Carmen you knew he was my boyfriend right? Thank you for taking care of him. So why did you hold on to him after? You had this all planned right?" Hilda roared at them.

Still holding unto Hilda, Hilda felt a burst of pain coming from her hand. Flinging Carmen's hand away, Carmen screamed and staggered falling on the ground a few steps away.

Walking over to Carmen who was on the ground, Daniel helped her up. Looking back at Hilda who was staring at them he lashed out. "Hilda, I know you might be hurt but that does not give you the right to push your sister down. What is done is done. I'm now engaged to her and that won't be changed. We are going to get married soon. Why don't you just accept it?"

Smirking at him "Who said I don't want to accept it? Have you forgotten I blessed you yesterday? Ain't you the ones here. You can get married today for all I care. You guys disgust me."

Looking at them who were being unreasonable and scolding her she yelled yet again "I don't want you guys appearing in front of me again. Scram! Now!"

Carmen then pouted and siad. "Hilda, you can't talk to us like that. Even if we have done something wrong we are a family. Why would you talk to us like that?"

"We just came to explain things to you. Daniel and I really love each other. We didn't mean to hurt you but if we did we are sorry."

"Really?" Since childhood Carmen took everything away be it toys, dress, food. Anything that belonged to Hilda was taken away by her. Her mother always told her, since Carmen is your younger sister, it doesn't matter. But now she has taken her boyfriend too.

"Hah... You disgust me. Since you like second hand things, you can keep him. I don't want him anymore."

Hearing her words, Daniel's eyes darkened. Raising his hand to slap her, someone grabbed his hand in mid air.

Looking back, he noticed it was Carmen.

Pouting and looking at him pitifully she shook her head. "Don't do it Danny. She is my elder sister. She is aggrieved. It is my fault so if you want to slap someone then it should be me. Please don't blame her it is my fault for loving you."
