Alessia’s POV

It had been more than a week since I arrived in Italy.

I had been applying for jobs at several weather forecasting stations, but most of the lucrative offers demanded more from me than I could give. My children needed me. I had to be around them.

I managed to land a couple of freelance gigs, but I wanted something more worthwhile—something stable.

Last night, I refreshed my email repeatedly, hoping to see something… anything.

And to my amazement, I found one.

I had been inv

  • Too Broken To Be Healed    Chapter 99

Giulia’s POV I stood beside my father on the presidential floor, our eyes fixed on the television screen showing the live feed from the room where Alessia was with the kidnapper we had hired. I felt a surge of satisfaction watching how miserable Alessia looked. All we needed was her damned signature on the documents. Was that so hard for her to do and finally remove her pathetic self from my life? Instead, she remained in the room, her eyes red and swollen from crying, constantly demanding to see her children first. I felt a twisted pleasure watching her suffer. She deserved this. Every bit of it. We couldn't give her the children yet because they were still unconscious and just as miserable as their mother. Then, suddenly, Matteo Rinaldi appeared on the screen. My heart dropped instantly, and rage boiled inside me. “Why can’t he just stay away from Alessia?” I shouted, unable to contain my frustration. “What is it about her that makes him love her so much? Why does he alwa

Matteo Rinaldi’s POV “Drop any fucking weapon you have on you,” they commanded. I reached behind me, pulling out the two silencers hidden in my back pocket and tossing them onto the floor in front of them. They picked them up cautiously as they approached, patting me down in search of any other weapons. Of course, they carried out only a blind search. That was the moment one of them recognized me. “Mr. Rinaldi?” he asked, surprise evident in his voice. I smirked slightly. “Seems like I have some fans down here.” “Doesn’t matter,” another man sneered. “You may not make it out alive.” They pushed me forward into the room, unaware of the small shotgun carefully hidden in my boots. The moment I stepped inside, I saw Alessia standing over some papers laid out on a table. Tears streamed down her face. Relief washed over me instantly, and I rushed to her side. “Alessia,” I said softly, pulling her into my arms. “Thank heavens you’re okay.” She looked up at me, her eyes red and s

  • Too Broken To Be Healed    Chapter 97

Matteo Rinaldi’s POV We arrived at the warehouse just as the sky was darkening. We had to be very discreet to avoid being caught by the men involved. Anything that could lead to a shootout before securing my kids was something I had to avoid. Arriving at the doorway leading into the warehouse, I felt a strange chill in the air. The place was eerily quiet, and as I stepped inside, my heart sank. The warehouse had been cleared out completely. There was no sign of Giulia or anyone else. I walked further in, the emptiness echoing my footsteps. "Damn it," I muttered under my breath, pulling out my phone. I dialed my father’s number, needing his guidance. "What's the situation?" he answered, his voice stern and filled with authority. "The warehouse is empty," I reported, frustration seeping into my tone. "It looks like they just moved out. The place is freshly cleaned." There was a pause before he responded. "They couldn’t have left town. We can use this to our advantage. Look for a

Alessia's POV Grateful that I acted calm around Arianna and Camellia, making them believe I had resigned myself to wait for Matteo Rinaldi’s return, I went into the shower and had a cold bath. As I stepped out of the shower into my room, I noticed Arianna standing there. "Sorry, I heard the sound of water and decided to come see what's up." "Thank you, but I was just having my bath," I replied and looked away. "Alessia, are you sure you're okay?" Arianna asked, her eyes filled with concern. I nodded, forcing a smile. "Yes, Arianna. I just need to rest. Maybe sleep will help." Arianna squeezed my hand. "We'll be here if you need anything." "Thanks," I replied, feeling guilty for deceiving her. "I appreciate it." I walked to my bed and pretended to sleep. I lay still, counting the minutes until the house grew silent. When I was certain everyone was asleep, I slipped out of bed and quietly grabbed my phone and the note the driver had given me earlier. My hands trembled as I dial

Alessia's POV After the meal, we got ready to leave. The food had barely passed down my throat, but Arianna, being the doctor that she was, prepared something else fast and quick that I could quickly eat up in time for our departure. "Are you alright?" Camellia asked. "Yeah, I'm fine," I responded to her. I nodded, but I was far from being alright. My heartbeat was no longer stable as my thoughts were filled with so many possible outcomes of Matteo's journey to the abandoned warehouse. Arianna came up behind us and we got into Camellia's car and drove away. Behind us were Matteo's security personnel, and I could see some of them ahead. The sun was setting and soon enough it would be dark. I prayed silently that everything would be over by morning. We arrived in front of my apartment. The sight of it brought tears to my eyes. I stumbled out of the car and up the steps to the house, my heart pounding and silent tears streaming down my face. Camellia unlocked the door and we st

  • Too Broken To Be Healed    Chapter 94

Matteo Rinaldi's POV After Giulia left, I wasted no time. I grabbed my phone and called the special operations team. "Stop the cab Alessia is in," I ordered, my voice sharp. "We see Giulia's car as well. What about her?" the leader asked. "Let the witch pass. Focus on Alessia," I instructed, feeling the urgency in my veins. I hurried to the nearest car and jumped into it. As I drove, the tension in my body increased. I knew Alessia would be resistant, but I had no choice. She needed to know the truth of what really happened. When I arrived at the gate, my men had already stopped the cab. Alessia was still seated inside, her expression a mix of anger and fear. The driver looked confused, his hands raised in a gesture of compliance. "What the hell is this, Matteo?" Alessia shouted as soon as she saw me. "I need to talk to you," I said, trying to keep my voice calm. "Get in my car." "I don't care about you and Giulia!" she yelled back. "I just want to see my kids!" I took a de
