After changing into my washed and patched-up uniform, I began cleaning from the first floor. I hoped that by the time I reached the second floor, His Royal Alpha Highness would have left for some oh-so-important business.

But of course, no such luck.

The moment I started tidying the living room, that infuriating werewolf decided to settle right there with his laptop, occasionally growling to himself. What, is his office not good enough anymore?

But what could I say? It’s his house. His territory, his rules.

Trying my best not to draw attention or breathe too loudly, I quietly cleaned the living room and then headed upstairs to start on the bedrooms. All the while, I couldn’t shake the eerie feeling that someone was silently watching me. More than once, I thought I heard a low growl behind me, but every time I turned, no one was there.

My neck... and worse—my butt—were practically burning. Something was seriously off.

Once I was done with the second floor, I moved to the kitchen,

Anger washes over me with incredible force. Damn wolves! It’s one thing to hurt me, but it’s something else entirely when they deceive my little, innocent sister! I won’t let her make the same mistake I did — I simply won’t!Although, Lena did say they were definitely mates. I don’t understand anything anymore.“You just said you don’t like him,” I say, raising my eyebrows ironically.“Well… maybe I do feel a little something,” my sister admits, rolling her eyes in defeat. “I know he didn’t promise me anything, and we never even talked about a relationship. He’s a grown man — probably has a girlfriend already — but it still hurts somehow. I feel like I was lied to, because he never mentioned her and always talked to me so casually,” Tanya says, looking at me with pain in her eyes.“Well, maybe she’s not really his girlfriend,” I say, not looking at her.“I don’t even understand why he talks to me then. He’s handsome, successful, rich — girls are lining up around him,” my brunette sist

  • Too Human To Be His   68 Conversation Heart to Heart

I knew Alpha Wayland had returned to the pack a few days ago from his business trip.It wasn’t hard to find out—Jasmina called me almost immediately after Max got back. He had accompanied the Alpha on that trip. She shared quite the intriguing story: the leadership had gone to investigate a situation where young women had been taken—abducted, actually—by the very werewolves destined to be their mates. Apparently, their true wolves had recognized them and couldn’t resist the bond. After discussing it in detail—accompanied by dreamy sighs—we agreed that it was, in a twisted way… incredibly romantic.Tomorrow is Friday, and I’ve made up my mind—I’m going to pay a visit to our ever-so-honorable Alpha, in person. But even just scheduling an appointment with him turned out to be a mission impossible. His secretary shut me down over the phone with remarkable efficiency, claiming the Alpha’s schedule was fully booked for the next few weeks. Her tone, cold and dismissive, made my fists clench

  • Too Human To Be His   67 Reformer...

Not every child wants to grow up to be a mighty Alpha or a ruthless warrior or a powerful CEO.I see delicate, sensitive souls among them — still strong, still capable — but their strengths lie elsewhere. Some of them could achieve incredible things if given the chance to follow their passions. So the lesson passed in a light, almost magical atmosphere. At first, they were hesitant, scribbling shyly, unsure. But within minutes, they were fully immersed, their faces dreamy and focused as they poured their wishes onto the page.Of course, some of the students’ answers were driven by typical wolfish ambition.Several proudly declared they dreamed of becoming strong Alphas, graceful Lunas, or brave Guardians of the Pack. But there were also surprising and heartfelt responses — the kind that deserved to be heard and respected just as much.Following my instincts, I carried out this little survey with every class I taught that day. I knew I was taking a risk, and unsurprisingly, it didn’t g

It’s been two weeks since I started working at the school affiliated with the pack. After giving it some thought, I realized I couldn’t afford to miss such a chance — especially in a place like this. The promised salary really was several times higher than what I used to earn, and I was more than satisfied with that.Tanyusha was enrolled in the same school, and although slowly, she’s beginning to integrate into her class. As for me, I’m still getting used to my new workplace. This school is definitely bigger than the one I worked at before and is equipped with the latest technology for educating children. It has modern, stylish renovations, and stepping through its doors, you don’t get the usual feeling of being in a school — at least not in the traditional sense. Everything is so thoughtfully designed and efficiently arranged that it’s honestly impressive that such a place even exists. The teaching staff also turned out to be surprisingly warm and welcoming. Everything seems perfect

“That’s enough! Why are you all picking on her? Better tell us what you’re going to give your men for Valentine’s Day! I’ve already broken my brain trying to find gifts,” Lena changed the subject, and the girls eagerly started brainstorming, throwing out their boldest ideas. I looked gratefully at my friend and then tried to focus on enjoying the evening with the girls, pushing aside my many problems. And I succeeded. After the kids were exhausted, bathed, and put to bed, Tanya also expressed her desire to rest. Jasmina gave us one guest room to share. So, only our usual old gang remained for the late-night gathering. I must say, Lakisha fit in quite well with our group. She turned out to be quite sociable and kind, and later it became clear that we had a lot in common. “I’m not entirely human,” Lakisha explained. “In our pack, many parents, right after their children are born, run tests to determine species affiliation. Basically, I’m a latent werewolf. The gene is there, but it

When Jasmina heard about my firing and the complete mess my life had become, she decided to cheer me up by throwing a sort of girls’ night at her place. I came with Tanya, and Lena joined us—surprisingly, so did Lakisha. Maxim, Artem, and Zavir had gone on a business trip with the alpha a few days ago, traveling somewhere on pack matters, so the girls were feeling a bit bored. The real surprise was when Mia arrived with her little princesses. It turned out Konrad and his group had left on tour right after New Year’s and wouldn’t be back for a few weeks. Mia arranged to stay at Jasmina’s place until Konrad returned, and then he’d pick up his family on the way back. So this girls’ night was going to be just like old times—maybe even better. “Well, girls! Finally, we’re all together!” Mia sang happily, hugging each of us as she stepped inside, helping her little princesses get settled. “I’ve missed you all so much. Finally, we can sit down properly and enjoy ourselves—with all the per
