Coolness against my thigh woke me up, followed by the strong scent of an unfamiliar fragrance. I blinked several times and realized I was lying on a bed.

I turned around, wincing slightly, before my eyes settled on the mark around my thigh. At that same moment, my senses came rushing back.

I looked around and realized I was inside a room illuminated by a dim red light. Clothes were scattered across the floor—my clothes.

I glanced down and froze.

I was wearing only my panties and bra.

RIAThe car finally slowed down.I lifted my head from my knees and listened carefully. The engine continued running for a few seconds before the car came to a complete stop.I held my breath.Where were we?I could hear voices outside, but I couldn't make out what they were saying. Then the driver's door opened. My heart began pounding again as I waited. The footsteps moved away from the car. I slowly pushed the trunk open and peeked outside. The man was standing a few feet away, his back turned toward me.I looked around and noticed we were no longer at the building. The place looked like a busy street, with several cars passing by and people walking along the roadside. This was my chance.I carefully climbed out of the trunk and crouched beside the car.The man suddenly turned around. Our eyes almost met, and I quickly ducked behind the car. My heart nearly jumped out of my chest.I waited several seconds before peeking out again. He was looking around suspiciously.I didn't wait a

I twisted it, surprisingly finding it unlocked.I slowly opened the door and peeked outside.A long hallway stretched ahead of me, with several doors on both sides. I looked to the left, then to the right. There were no guards. No one was watching.I must escape from here.I rushed back inside the roo

  • Too Late To Get Me Back, Husband    He Wants Her.

LARABryan's face paled. For the first time since I had known him, he looked genuinely caught off guard. He slowly lowered the phone from his ear.The call had already ended but either of us spoke. The silence between us was suffocating. I looked at the phone in his hand before meeting his eyes again."So..." My voice trembled despite my efforts to remain calm. "...you've been talking to Devil this whole time?"Bryan let out a slow breath."Lara...""Answer me.""I will.""Then answer me."His jaw tightened. "I didn't lie to you."I laughed bitterly."You didn't?""No."I took a step toward hi "I asked you whether you had anything to do with Gerald's attack.""And I told you the truth.""You expect me to believe that after hearing you call Devil?""I wasn't speaking to him because I helped him." He rubbed a hand over his face, looking more exhausted than defensive."I called because I needed answers too."I stared at him."What does that even mean?"Bryan looked at me for several long

  • Too Late To Get Me Back, Husband    You Lied To Me.

LARAThe drive home was painfully quiet.Even with the radio playing softly in the background, my mind refused to settle.Gerald's face kept replaying in my head.He looked... broken. Not physically.I had expected the bandages, the bruises, and the exhaustion after everything that had happened. It was his eyes that stayed with me.They no longer carried the confidence that had once irritated me.There was no arrogance. No pride.Just a man sitting alone with the consequences of his choices.I tightened my grip on the steering wheel.No.I wasn't going to let sympathy cloud my judgment.Whatever had happened to him didn't erase everything he had done.It didn't erase the lies.It didn't erase the betrayal. And it certainly didn't erase the pain he had caused.By the time I reached home, I felt mentally drained.I kicked off my heels near the entrance and dropped my handbag onto the sofa before letting out a long breath. The house was unusually quiet. For the first time in days, I had

  • Too Late To Get Me Back, Husband    Forgive Me.

LARAFor a moment, neither of us spoke. She stood at the doorway, dressed in a simple pair of jeans and a white blouse. Her hair was tied neatly behind her head, and the dark circles beneath her eyes told me she hadn't been sleeping well. She looked different. Not physically.Emotionally.The warmth that used to soften her face whenever she looked at me had disappeared completely. All that remained was indifference. The officer glanced between us."You have ten minutes."Lara gave a small nod."I understand."The officer stepped outside, though I noticed he deliberately left the door slightly open. Two armed officers remained visible through the narrow gap.Lara walked into the room without saying a word. She didn't move closer to the bed.Instead, she stopped several feet away, folded her arms across her chest, and looked at me as though I were a complete stranger.I forced out a weak smile."Lara...""Don't."Her voice was calm and cold."I didn't come here for that."The smile disa

Lara's POV “Is it really incurable?” I asked, my heart in my throat as I squeezed the hem of my gown gently and the doctor nodded.“In my whole experience as a doctor, Mrs. Stone, lung cancer has never been cured successfully. It has spread too far to be treated. Other hospitals may have developed

  • Too Late To Get Me Back, Husband    What Have You Done?!

Lara's POV “Your lies weren't enough and now you're trying to blame poor Ria? She doesn't even know what we're talking about. Must you be so shameless?” Gerald asked in annoyance and I gasped, shaking my head in disagreement. There was no way the results would just disappear into thin air. Somethi

  • Too Late To Get Me Back, Husband    Get Out!

Lara's POV I never got the chance to tell Gerald that I was pregnant. Or that I was dying in six months. I didn't want to believe that he would actually bring Ria to the house, so I didn't clean the room as he told me to.The doctor specifically told me not to stress myself and I wouldn't do that

  • Too Late To Get Me Back, Husband     I AM Dying

LARA“I didn't do anything, Gerald!” I pleaded, tears burning in my eyes. His eyes burned with hatred as he carried Ria up, her hands hanging limply. “She tried to hurt herself, and I stopped her.”“Stop lying!” he thundered, and I flinched. “Ria has no reason to hurt herself. You're so selfish and
