Vivienne’s POV

I followed Alexander to the front row of the auction hall. The lights were bright, and the stage was already set. Guests in elegant clothes filled every seat.

I held his arm as we walked in, just as we were expected to in public.

A small hope lingered in my heart.

Tonight… maybe he would stay beside me.

Maybe, just once, I would not lose to Isabella.

Then I saw her.

Isabella was already seated in the front row. She turned and smiled the moment she saw Alexander.

Vivienne’s POVAt the hospital, the doctor examined me and said there was nothing seriously wrong. But my heart still felt uneasy.I hesitated before speaking.“I’m pregnant… will falling into the water affect the baby?”The doctor paused and reviewed my report again before answering that, to be safe, I should go to the obstetrics department for a detailed examination.I nodded, took the referral paper, and walked out.Julian was waiting outside. The moment he saw me, he stepped forward, his brows drawn tightly with worry.“How is it?”“There’s nothing serious,” I said. “But I need to do another check.”Then I added gently, “You should go back. You’ve already done enough.”He shook his head immediately.“I’m already here. It’s not trouble.”I smiled faintly and shook my head.“The hospital is crowded. You didn’t wear a mask. If someone recognizes you, it’ll cause trouble.”Julian sighed softly. He understood. In the end, he nodded.“Call me when you’re done.”“I will.”I went to the o

He glanced at me briefly… then gently removed my hand from his arm.“Go ahead,” he said quietly. And walked toward her.My steps stopped. For a moment, I could not move. The smile on my lips faded slowly. So this was the truth. He had only brought me here because of his grandparents. It was never about me.“What are you standing there for?” he asked when he noticed I had not followed.I lowered my eyes and forced myself forward.I sat beside

  • Too Late for Love, Mr. CEO   chapter 25

Vivienne’s POVAt six in the evening, after work, I went straight to the underground parking lot to wait for Alexander. I stood quietly, holding my bag, checking the time again and again.I did not have to wait long before his car drove in. He stepped out and walked toward me with his usual calm expression, as if nothing in the world could disturb him.James drove us to a private styling studio that Alexander often used. The place was quiet and luxurious, and the staff treated him with careful respect. They quickly began my makeup and styling while he was taken to another room. After my makeup was done, I changed into the gown they prepared for me. When I stepped out, I held the edge of the dress carefully. The fabric was long and soft, unfamiliar against my skin.Alexander was already finished and sitting on the sofa. The moment he heard my steps, he looked up.Then he froze. His gaze stayed on me for several seconds, unmoving. It was rare to see him react like that. My heartbeat qui

Alexander’s POV I held Isabella as she cried in my arms. Her body trembled against me, and her tears soaked through my shirt. A tight pressure formed in my chest as I watched her fall apart like this.“Isabella,” I said quietly, “I promised I would stay with you. You do not need to worry. I will not break my word.”She shook her head against me, her voice breaking as she spoke.“But you are already married. You are not mine anymore. Do you think I do not know?”Her fingers tightened around my shirt as if she was afraid I would disappear.“What do you take me for? When I told you I was coming back, why did you not tell me the truth? If I had known you were married, I would never have contacted you. I would never have gotten involved again. How am I supposed to face Vivienne?”Her crying grew more desperate, each word heavier than the last.“It is my fault, not yours,” I said firmly. “I have already decided to divorce her. The decree will come through soon.”I held her shoulders and m

Vivienne’s POV I pointed toward the bathroom and spoke calmly.“I’m done. You can go wash.”Alexander picked up his pajamas and walked in without a word.I sat on the bed and unlocked my phone, scrolling aimlessly. My eyes moved across the screen, but nothing registered. My mind felt unsettled, yet I did not want to dwell on anything too deeply. After a while, a strange feeling crept in.Alexander had been inside for quite some time, yet I had not heard the sound of running water.A faint frown formed on my face. I got up and walked quietly toward the bathroom door. From inside, I could hear something faint.Heavy, uneven breathing. It took only a moment for the meaning to reach me.Heat rushed instantly to my face, burning through my cheeks and ears. I turned away quickly and hurried back to the bed, pulling the blanket over myself as if nothing had happened. Some time later, water finally began to run. Then it stopped.Soon, the door opened and Alexander stepped out.The mattress d

Vivienne’s POV ContI held Alexander’s gaze across the table for a brief moment before speaking. He had already made it clear that I could ask for anything except resigning, so I understood exactly where his limits were. Even so, I wanted to test how far that boundary truly extended.“Except for resigning,” he had said earlier.“Not that,” I replied.“Then say it.”I took a quiet breath before answering, keeping my voice calm and even.“What I want is to return to my previous position. I want to handle public relations for Valmonté and Roussier International again, just like before. What do you think?”I gently set my chopsticks down and waited. My eyes remained on him, searching for even the slightest reaction. However, he said nothing. His expression did not change, and his silence stretched long enough that it became an answer on its own.A faint smile appeared on my lips as I picked up my chopsticks again.“Forget I said anything,” I said lightly, as though it had only been a pass
