Beg Me

"You can be my little plaything." He said.

Erika's mouth dropped open, she tried to let his words sink in with his devious smile on her face. Plaything.. that's what he wanted.. to toy with her.

"No.. I wanna go home.."

"Go, no one's stopping you," he said, backing off like he was clearing the way out. But there was no point. Erika had nothing. "If you want to see for yourself how worthless you are, how no one wants you there, you're free to do so."

Erika couldn't even take a step even if she knew a total stranger was telling her what her life has turned to. She shouldn't believe him but she was hesitant. Maybe that's what he wanted. Maybe he was playing deceiving tricks with her so she would just give up.

"I know you're lying."

"Suit yourself," he shrugged like he knew everything. But she wasn't falling for it. She was just starting to walk away when he spoke again. "But do you know what the media is talking about?"

Erika froze. The media was never a fan of her with her numerous dating scandals and her spoiled brat lifestyle that was always deemed outrageous by them. She knew she was screwed over when she turned back to look at him. He was serious.

She pulled out her phone immediately and checked the top stories. It didn't take long to find her name as she topped the charts of every news outlet.

"Billionaire's spoiled daughter Erika Sterling gets disowned."

"After losing millions of dollars on fraudulent activities, Billionaire Matthew Sterling kicks out his daughter from his company."

"Erika Sterling.. finished."

Dumbfounded, her eyes grew wide. It wasn't a joke, it wasn't a nightmarish dream. Her world had crashed down to ruins and she was standing there, disheveled.

"You'll pay."

"I didn't do anything. I don't deserve this. You did this.. everything. You're gonna pay."

"Who's gonna make me pay? You?" Nigel let out a bitter laugh as he closed the gap between them. He moves in close to her and smiled, running a soft hand through her disoriented hair, "Look at yourself. You're lucky you're not in jail."

"I'd rather die than suffer for something I haven't done," she swatted his hand away and fixed him with a glare. "I am gonna be here and die, because anything would be better than being anywhere around you."

He looked at her like he wasn't surprised and this angered her more. He started moving back to his car without a second glance. But he stopped a few steps later, took out his wallet and dropped a 100 dollar bill on the ground. Then he looked back at her.

"I was sending you to Canada, but that's off the plate now. So, either you can use this to go back home and realize how miserable your life is," Nigel's face dissolved into a grimace, "Or you can come back to me on your knees, begging me to give you another chance."

That's all he said and without even waiting for an answer, he got into his car and drove off. The 100 dollar bill laid still on the pavement, in her reach but so far away.

The night grew darker and she felt her will to survive the night grow dimmer. She was freezing, staring blankly at the hundred dollar bill. She thought of how big of a hit her ego would get if she picked that up.

But immediately then her feelings took charge. The house that she grew up in, the people who raised her, every maid and servants, her dad, would they really throw her away just like that. Was her whole life a lie?

Maybe she had actually caught Nigel Asher's bluff. Erika got up and walked to the money. She picked it up with a stinging feeling in her heart. Just like that, she felt the last thing that was actually hers to keep, seep away from her hands. Her self respect.

The cab stopped right in front of the gate of her house. She paid the money and stepped out, taking shallow breaths. The lights around her lawn were still turned on, she knew the house didn't sleep yet.

She walked towards her gate and started walking in. The security guards gave worried gazes to each other before looking back at her but no one said a word. They let her enter in her own home. Her feet didn't stumble as she walked to her gate bit her hands froze before ringing the bell.

"You're the heir, you're the lady of this household. They can't do anything to me," she told herself as consolation and rung the bell.

It took a few minutes too long till the door opened. The little part of her that expected to see welcoming smiles faded when a few of the bodyguards stepped out followed by the head maid. They all had cold looks on their faces and disdain. They were their because of her.

"I'm sorry, you're not allowed inside," a bodyguard said.

"What do you mean? It's my house. Move out," she was in denial as she tried to push her way inside, but she was pushed back instantly.

"These are clear orders from the boss, we can't let you in. If you try to disobey, we'll be forced to take you out ourselves."

"Stop this. I'm your boss's daughter. Ms. Wood? You raised me, how can you watch all this and stay silent?" Erika saw a hint of guilt on the head maid's face but she stayed silent. She realised they won't be helpful at all, she had to find her own way. "LET ME IN, I NEED TO MEET MY FATHER! DAD! PLEASE!"

She screamed and yelled, ignoring all the warnings from the bodyguards.

"We need you to leave immediately. This is the last warning."

Suddenly another butler comes out and tosses a backpack filled with her stuff outside. She was actually being evicted, it was all over. She tried to run inside, push and crawl her way but she failed every time. They were too strong.

"DAD! DAD, PLEASE TALK TO ME. I DON'T UNDERSTAND, I'M YOUR DAUGHTER FOR GOD'S SAKE!"

That's when a stern voice echoed through the halls. It was Matthew Sterling.

"Stop this commotion right now. I don't pay you idiots to slack off. Throw her away this instant and make sure I never see her face again!" Matthew said, stopping every worthless attempt she was making at entering the house.

Immediately, the bodyguards started carrying her away and she didn't resist. They dropped her out of the gate with her bag and shut it on her face, marking the end of her access to the house ever again. She was abandoned by the only people she considered her own.

Dazed, cold and utterly heartbroken, she continued walking away aimlessly. Her face burned hot with tears that physically ached her. She crumpled up on the side of the road, letting it all out with her tears.

She stood in front of a busy road, cars running fast, with just one thing in her mind. She took a step in, but immediately, she took a couple of steps back, hesitating. Everything was ruined yet what was she waiting for? She was too afraid to end herself. No matter how hard she thinks of doing it, her personality to never go down without a fight held her back.

Whatever Nigel Asher had said was the truth.

Nigel Asher.

The hundred dollar bill.

A plaything.

~

He wasn't just a traitor, he was also filthy rich. His house was like a mansion, huge and majestic, unlike anything she had seen. He was a legacy himself, there was no way a man who was so successful needed a CEO position in a retail business company. It was absurd.

Erika concealed her emotions, her every thought. She doubted she was even thinking as she walked inside, clutching her dirty dress and wobbly feet. She had never felt this downtrodden in her 25 years of life, it was the most humiliating thing in the world.

She walked through the stone path with a beautiful garden on each side, the white mansion stood right before her. Even if it was gorgeous, she knew she was walking into hell willingly. She had no other way, it was either death or Nigel Asher.

That's why her face burned with shame as she entered through the tall gates of the mansion. She was let in without questions, as if everyone was expecting her already and not in a good way.

"Ms Sterling, this way. Sir is waiting for you," a man stepped out of the main door and invited her in, making her carry her own suitcase inside. Unsure, she followed the man into the ethereal mansion painted in white and black. So subtle yet modern, she was awestruck as she followed the man through the hall and then the corridors. Little did she know this dreamlike interior was all but a deception. She was already in hell. "Go ahead."

He said after stopping in front of a door, motioning her to go inside. And that's what she did. She flung open the door already knowing what to expect. It was a study room and there he was, properly placed on his desk with his white shirt with rolled up sleeves and black rimmed reading glasses. His hair looked wet, fresh out of a shower and his shoulders appeared to be how they actually were, broad.

Erika gulped a little, waiting for him to notice her. But when he did, everything changed.

"You're here for another chance then?" He said before looking up and when he did, his lips had taken the shape of a wicked smile. "Then why don't we start with you getting on your knees and begging?"
