Dario compelled Ann not to tell anyone and send her on her way. Dario put his fingers in his mouth to taste Ann’s blood. He got a hint of vampire blood and spit it out.
A scared Ann quickly got dressed and could not believe her substitute teacher had just seen her naked, let alone that he and some students appear to be vampires. She also thought about what had just happened and the past couple of days. She wondered why the Vampires did not take Jessica as well. Why only her? And werewolves? She remembered Miss Wangberg.
Even though she was scared, Ann could feel the excitement rising in her. She just remembered that she drank from Paris. ‘I wonder if I will become a vampire now?’ She thought to herself. She got excited by the idea and rushed home to do some research. When she got home, Paris was already waiting for her inside. For a moment she wondered about the fiction novels where vampires needed an invitation.
“Ann, your friend Paris says you made arrangements to tutor him. He has been waiting for 30 minutes already,” Ann’s mom said, smiling and helping Ann take off her jacket.
“Thanks, mom, I'll take it from here,” Ann said, wondering if he fed on her, feeling slight anger rising in her.
“Ok, I have a video call with your dad. I will tell him you cannot make it, but you better make it up to him,” her mother said, about to leave to her study.
“Actually, mom, I will join you in a bit. Paris miss understood me. The study session was supposed to be after school and I waited for you. Goodbye Paris. See you tomorrow at school and I will tutor you after school, tomorrow,” Ann dragged out her words, dragging him to the door.
“Nonsense,…” her mother was about to protest but Ann cut her off.
“You know I never miss a chat with dad,” she said, managing to get Paris out the door and quickly shut it.
“Ann! You are so rude!” her mother exclaimed, shocked.
Ann locked her arm in with her mother's and dragged her to the study.
Ann was mentally not present during the video call with her dad. She wondered if Paris already knew that Dario did not compel her to forget and perhaps came to finish the job. She then wondered if there was anything she could do to prevent them from compelling her again.
After the video call, she helped her mother with dinner. Her mother was curious about the new teacher and new students.
“Miss Wangberg is recovering well, but she is still in a coma,” her mother tried to make small talk while stirring the sauce.
“That is good to know,” Ann responded, setting the table.
“So, who is the substitute? Anyone I know?” Ann’s mother tried again.
“Don’t think so. Mr. Carden. First name Dario,” Ann said.
“Paris started today with two other students, think they are twins or something,” Ann said and took her place at the table.
Her mom dished for both of them and brought the plates over before pouring herself a glass of wine. Ann’s mom enjoyed a beautiful set table at every dinner. No matter if she was dining alone or with guests, she always set the table with table arrangements and candles.
“Tell me about Paris. He is handsome,” Ann’s mom, also named Ann, tried to fish out if her daughter had a romantic connection with him.
“Don’t really know him, mom, they only started today,” Ann responded, taking a bite of steak to make sure she had reason enough to chew long and avoid any more questions.
Ann’s mom noticed that she won't get out any info right now and instructed Alexa the AI from A****n that her husband had installed for her last birthday to turn on classical music and they enjoyed the rest of the meal in silence.
After dinner, Ann was about to clean up, but her mother stopped her.
“Don’t worry about it. I will clean up tonight,” her mom said, stacking the plates.
Ann made her way to her room. “Good night mom.”
“Goodnight, my darling, don’t forget to set your alarm. I don’t want to be late tomorrow morning.”
Ann went into her room and noticed her window was still open. She walked over to her window to close it, not noticing Paris sitting on her chair in the corner of her room. After she closed the window and curtains, she went to her bathroom and took a shower, still not noticing Paris.
After taking a long hot shower, she dried herself and left her towel in the bathroom and went to sit at her dresser to dry her hair. She switched on her main bedroom light. “Alexa, please switch on the main light.”
Alexa, “Sure, switching on the main bedroom light,” the AI voice responded as the lights switched on.
“What the hell!” Ann jumped up from her white Luxe Joybird armchair to grab her bathrobe.
“How did you get in here?” she asked angrily.
“The window. I have been sitting here, waiting for you to finish dinner. So, your mom thinks I am handsome?” Paris teased mockingly.
“Get out!” Ann ordered him, pointing at her door.
“Think it best I leave the way I came,” he said, standing up, deciding not to tell her that a vampire must leave a house the same way they came in.
“What about a goodnight kiss before I leave?” he asked, reaching out to lift her chin.
Ann smacked his hands away and made sure she kept her eyes away from his so that he cannot compel her. Paris noticed it and grinned.
“It does not work like that. We compel with our voice. Don’t worry, I won’t compel you,” Paris said, now standing in front of the window.
Ann noticed his reflection in her dressing-table mirror. “I thought vampires don’t have a reflection?”
Every year, when Prince Deacon left for a few days for the higher council, Emily will not follow. A bit cross about the way he went about it, but nonetheless she was glad that he had a fated mate. Word reached her a few weeks later that his mate Jessica was abducted, and she came to the rescue. She did not expect for her and Deacon to end up making love again, but they did. When Deacon claimed Jessica a few months later, Emily was broken up and ended up in Prince Mano's bed. Present day. (Read Chapter 179 for a recap) After Prince Deacon stormed into Prince Mano's room and caught them in bed together, followed by Prince Mano attacking Prince Deacon, Emily decided to leave them to it. “I am not doing this,” Emily said and left the room. Emily went to her own room, which she has not been in for a
"Why would he betray me? How is he even alive?" Prince Deacon asked, not believing that Kerraelas betrayed him. 'I don't know why or how. I knew he was not dead, but I don't know why he gave your parents the information,' Wynn mind linked. "My mother killed, -never mind, I see he is still alive." Prince Deacon was about to tell Wynn that his mother killed the Shaman but then he saw in Wynn's mind that they made contact. "Where is he?" Prince Deacon asked, wanting to know where the shaman was. "I told him to go to the nearest town North," Wynn said, finally able to speak. "Guess he didn't listen," Prince Deacon said, pointing at the wolf they both recognize as the Shaman in full wolf form. The shaman finally regained his strength and managed to complete his shift. Wynn took the backpack off his back and took out his spare pants and threw it at the Shaman. The Shaman shifted and put the pants on. "I think the neighbor just saw me do that," the Shaman said, looking at Princess B
Two of Queen Lana’s guards ran into the house and force him outside.“Let me die with her!” Prince Deacon demanded, trying to get back into the house. In the distance, you could hear the fire brigade. Prince Deacon knew that there was nothing saving the house or Emily now.The Shaman pretend to be dead for as long as he could and started to crawl out of the burning house, towards the kitchen, hoping that it had a back door like all houses. With his hand on his throat, he started to run through the backyard before climbing over the first wall. ‘That b*tch, I have been serving here for over a millennium and she just tried to kill me as if I am nothing? I will end her,’ the Shaman vowed, ‘but first I need to survive; I need to find Wynn.’ The Shaman went rogue the moment his throat was slit so that Queen Lana and the pack will think him dead. The shaman took out his phone and called Wynn but he was barely able to speak so he put the phone down again and tried to type with one hand while
“There you are. What is that face for?” Prince Deacon asked, when he came into the room, Emily standing with just a towel around her. Prince Deacon had a bunch of red roses in one hand and a guy that looked in his mid-thirties next to him.“Go wait downstairs,” Prince Deacon ordered the guy.“I am not hungry,” Emily said, knowing the guy was to feed on.“But today is your feeding day,” Prince Deacon said, laying the roses down on the vanity table before turning to Emily, and putting his hands on her shoulders, “what is wrong?”“Just thinking about how you have no children and deserve to have children,” Emily said, her eyes sad. Emily decided not to tell him about Wynn’s phone call, knowing he will just make them go on the run and she does not want him to spend his life on the run.“Do you want children?” Prince Deacon asked with a frown.“Does it matter since I can't have any?” Emily asked.“We can get a surrogate,” Prince Deacon reminded her of the time period they live in.“Forget I
The year 2000 and something “I thought you were dead,” Queen Lana said, sitting up on her royal throne when she saw an old acquaintance. “Kerraelas, old friend,” King Makens said, standing up from his throne to greet his Raven friend that looked as young as he does. After the embrace, King Makens signaled his servants to come closer. “What do you want to drink? Are you hungry?” “I am not staying long,” Kerraels said. “Where have you been all this time?” Queen Lana asked. “Does it matter?” Kerraels asked. “What brings you here? A warning? What has your foresight shown to you?” King Makens asked, looking at the serious expression on Kerraels' face. “I have seen many things to come,” Kerraels said. “I heard someone sighted you,” Queen Amirah said, walking in, Prince Andre at her side. “Queen Amirah,” Kerraels said, taking her hand and kissing it. “Prince Andre, how is hybrid life treating you?” Kerraels turned his attention to Prince Andre and shook his hand. “It has its perks
Princess Freda realized that she will have to hide out for a while and birth her children first before attempting to find Emily so she slowly made her way to the nearest harbor to board a ship to Europe and from there it was slow and hot, uncomfortable journey to Egypt. Even though she knew it was risky staying at Queen Zuberi’s palace, she didn’t know where else to go and luckily for her, the palace still carried Gabriella’s spell. Princess Freda was well taken care of by Queen Zuberi’s servants, none of them knowing that Queen Zuberi was dead and she thought it best not to enlighten them, for the sake of her twins. A few months later she gave birth to two healthy babies and instead of finding Emily, she decided it can wait as there was a raging human World War Two going on and the last thing she wanted is to get caught in the crossfire leaving her children without a mother. She was not sure if they were like King Lowe or King Thorvald and knew it will still be a few years before she
