Chapter 4

Author: Cutie Kitty
Chloe and Lily followed her, and I followed close behind them.

I knew that what had happened in my previous life was going to happen again.

In my previous life, Yoana waited until I was not paying attention, then handed out the rotten fruit cups to our classmates. She wanted to use the favor to win their votes for the school honor award.

The moment I discovered what she was doing, I tried to stop her. Instead, my classmates cursed me out.

When they later came down with food poisoning, they somehow blamed me for that too.

"If you were not guilty, why did you try to stop us?"

"Exactly! You obviously knew the fruit was poisoned. Otherwise, why would you refuse to eat it?"

In the end, I became the person everyone hated.

I died with no one even willing to claim my body.

Now, Yoana was once again going around cheerfully handing out fruit cups to our classmates.

"The fruit was on sale today, so I spent a whole week's allowance buying fruit for everyone and making these fruit cups. Have some and cool off!"

Everyone accepted the fruit cups and immediately started praising Yoana for being so kind and thoughtful.

Yoana gave a shy little smile.

"We are all classmates. Helping each other is only natural.

"However, I hope everyone will remember my kindness and support me when it is time to vote for the school honor award!"

Everyone understood exactly what she meant. After all, it was hard to say no after accepting someone's food.

They all nodded eagerly.

"Do not worry. You have our votes!"

Just as everyone was about to eat, I gave them one more warning.

"I heard discounted fruit usually is not very fresh. A lot of it is already bruised or starting to rot. Eating too much can upset your stomach, so it is probably better not to eat too much."

After all, in my previous life, they had been fooled by Yoana too. In a way, they had been victims as well.

Hearing me, everyone froze with the fruit cups in their hands and turned to look at Yoana.

Yoana's expression darkened.

Then, almost instantly, her eyes turned red. She pushed out her lower lip, looking like she had just suffered some terrible injustice.

"Jessica, are you saying I deliberately bought bad fruit for everyone? That I wanted to make everyone sick?

"You know I do not have much money. I only get fifteen hundred dollars a month for living expenses, unlike you, who gets three thousand.

"I wanted to buy everyone something better too, but I cannot afford it. This fruit already cost me much of my allowance. I will have to live on bread for some time...

"These fruits may not be worth much, but they are still my way of showing that I care. I know you look down on me, but did you really have to humiliate me like this?

"If you do not believe me, I can eat one right now to prove it!"

As she spoke, Yoana prepared to eat the good fruit cup sitting beside her, just as she had in my previous life.

Before she could, I grabbed the rotten fruit cup and shoved it into her hands.

"Do not eat that one. Eat this!"

Yoana's face went completely white. She trembled with anger, and a flicker of suspicion appeared in her eyes.

She just stood there holding the fruit cup, unable to make herself take a bite.

Of course she did not dare eat it. She knew better than anyone just how disgusting those rotten fruits were.

That was Yoana for you. She was unbelievably stingy, yet she still wanted everyone to like her and shower her with praise.

Somehow, she had come up with the brilliant idea of using rotten fruit to buy people's favor.

After a moment of silence, Chloe and Lily could not stand watching anymore. They stepped forward to defend Yoana.

"Jessica, why are you making things so difficult for Yoana?"

"When we were in the dorm, Yoana kindly offered you a fruit cup, and you refused it, claiming you were allergic. Now that she is giving fruit to everyone else, you are trying to stop her again. What exactly are you trying to do?"

"Are you jealous because Yoana was chosen as a candidate for the school honor award? Is your jealousy getting the better of you? After all, you were eliminated in the very first round!"

The moment they said that, everyone's attention shifted. Whispers spread through the crowd.

"What kind of spoiled rich girl is Jessica? Just because she could not make the cut herself, she has to make things difficult for someone else!"

"Exactly! If you are not going to eat, then get out of the way. We still want to!"

"So what if the fruit was on sale? It is still a representation of Yoana's kindness. We like it. What business is it of yours?"

Their faces twisted with rage as they shouted at me."You filthy b*tch! What the hell did you do?""Jessica, do you not want to graduate anymore?"Their shouting immediately drew everyone's attention. People turned toward Yoana and Gavin and began whispering."Look! Those are the two people from the campus anonymous forum!""I know them! Yoana and Gavin! What a perfect match. A cheating b*stard and a shameless homewrecker!"Having been humiliated in front of everyone, Yoana's face turned bright red. Tears of anger streamed down her cheeks.Gavin pulled her into his arms, comforting her while glaring furiously at me. Then he raised his fist and swung it toward me.Just before it hit, an enraged voice rang out."You piece of garbage! Have you lost your mind?"…I followed the voice.A beautiful woman in a red dress was storming toward us.It was Gavin's wife. She had come to the university because I had sent her a copy of the evidence earlier. The moment she saw Gavin hold

Chloe and Lily had also gotten their scholarships through Yoana's connections, which was why they had always sucked up to her. However, it also meant Yoana had them completely under her thumb.Once I had gathered enough evidence, I found myself looking forward to the public apology more and more.On the day of the apology, I contacted the campus anonymous forum ahead of time and asked them to post some things while I was making my statement. On my way to the radio station, I happened to run into Yoana. The moment she saw me, the corners of her mouth curled into a smug smile. She could barely hide the glee on her face."Oh, look who it is. Jessica, the girl who poisoned her classmates and framed her roommates. Have you memorized that five-thousand-word apology yet?"She looked at me with a triumphant smile."Go on. I cannot wait to hear you apologize! Jessica, you owe me all of this!"You ruined my face, so I am going to make you pay too!"After taunting me, Yoana even called o

Hearing Yoana's reminder, Gavin immediately puffed himself up with authority."Jessica, I do not care what happened before. The fact is, Yoana is depressed because of you! And you have repeatedly talked back to me."You need to apologize to both me and Yoana right now! Otherwise, I have ways to put this on your student record. Do not think graduating is just about completing enough credits. If you end up with a disciplinary record, whether you can graduate smoothly is another question!"I silently rolled my eyes so hard they nearly disappeared into the back of my head.Seriously?Pulling rank just because he could. Who did Gavin think he was fooling? Everyone knew he did not actually have that much power. At the university, Gavin was basically a glorified prop. He had very little authority and a huge temper.Officially, he was a student affairs staff member. Put more bluntly, he was just someone whose job was to serve the students.Did he really think he was some big shot? He w

...As the controversy continued to grow, Yoana was subjected to a brutal wave of online harassment.People called her repeatedly just to harass her, sent nasty text messages cursing her and her entire family, and even mailed her terrifying packages from time to time.Sometimes the packages contained dead rats or dead snakes. Other times, they contained feces smeared with what looked like animal blood.Even when Yoana was walking down the street, people who recognized her from the internet would throw pebbles at her and spit at her.Day after day, the harassment wore her down. Yoana became listless and increasingly haggard.Chloe and Lily were dragged into the mess too, and they suffered plenty of abuse themselves. The moment the online harassment started, I moved back home. There was no way I was going to let their problems keep me up at night. For the next few days, they were strangely quiet. They did not try anything else.I thought things might finally stay peaceful. Then

"Shameless! She eats the good fruit cups herself and gives everyone else the rotten ones!"…The insults kept coming and Yoana's face turned bright red with humiliation. She still tried to bring up the pesticide, claiming that I was an accomplice too."If I am the murderer, then Jessica is an accomplice! Those people were not poisoned just by aflatoxin. They were poisoned by pesticides too!"So, Yoana knew she could not escape anymore and wanted to drag me down with her?Too bad.I was not going to give her the chance. As everyone turned suspicious eyes toward me, I immediately played the recording of Yoana and the others framing me.In the video, Yoana, Chloe, and Lily crept toward my locker. The next second, Yoana pulled a bottle of pesticide from her pocket and tossed it inside. What they did not know was that I had started recording the moment they began their little scheme. This time, Yoana had no way to explain herself. She could only lower her head with a pale, grim e

Yoana smiled with satisfaction and continued spinning her lies, pushing all the blame onto me."I will swear on my life that there was nothing wrong with my fruit! Jessica deliberately poisoned it, and that is why those students got food poisoning! Otherwise, why did the tests find pesticide residue? The dangerously high aflatoxin levels could have been caused by the pesticide too!"Before I could say a word, Yoana kept going."Think about it, everyone. If Jessica was not the one who poisoned the fruit, why was she the only person who refused to eat it? And why did I find a bottle of pesticide in her locker?"No one could come up with a response. The room fell silent. To make everyone believe her story, Chloe and Lily immediately backed her up with more lies."Jessica was the one who poisoned it! We saw her do it with our own eyes!""And Jessica is a computer science major. Editing a fake video would be ridiculously easy for her!"With Yoana, Chloe, and Lily working together,
