Helena’s P.O.V

“Helena,” Lilith’s lips spread into a wide smile as she approached me.

I shifted my gaze away from her to see Elias, Tristan and Lucien looking at us suspiciously.

My attention was pulled back to Lilith when she grabbed my arm and wrapped it around hers. She pulled me towards the car, eagerly. “I know yesterday didn't end on good terms, but we can't let it remain that way”.

I didn't say a word. I wasn't sorry, and I wasn't going to give her the impression that I was.

“Anyway, how did you get to know Theron?”

“Who?” The word slipped from my lips, and I almost bit my tongue while speaking to her.

“Theron Cross,” she answered. “You were speaking to him just now; I thought you knew him”.

I didn't respond.

“He's Elias’s childhood best friend, and they haven't seen each other for a long while, so this is like a reunion for them, so don't ruin it with your little crush,” Lilith explained.

“Best friend?” I whispered to no one in particular.

If they were best friends, then he had to be like Elias, and I don't want anything related to them.

“Wait. Do you have a crush on him?”

My eyes grew wide. “What?”

She gasped. “So you do have a crush on him. Oh my goodness, I can help you tell him; maybe we could pair you both together. I know you and Lucien aren't on good terms anymore, but how are you sure you're even his type?”

She let go of my arm, then turned towards Theron. She was about to walk towards him when I lunged towards her. I grabbed her arm, then tugged her back to my side. “Don't,” I said firmly.

The three musketeers sprang into action and rushed to her side. Elias grabbed my wrist, Tristan held her shoulder, and Lucien stood beside her, fists clenched. I knew he was too scared to touch me but still wanted to impress her.

“Do you three not get tired of embarrassing yourselves?” I questioned. “But it's alright. I wasn't going to hurt her. I just stopped her from making a mistake she would regret”.

I smiled.

They still looked at me suspiciously.

“Let go.” I shifted my gaze from Elias’s arm to his eyes. Slowly, he loosened his grip, then pulled his arm off.

“Everybody ready?” The drivers asked as they walked down the stairs.

With that, I slipped into the back seat next to the window. The other bridesmaids climbed in after, then the boys awkwardly retreated to their car.

Lilith got into the front seat.

The driver took off seconds after he started the car. My gaze was glued to the window. She watched the people walking by as trees and buildings blurred past.

Within seconds, they had arrived at the cake shop with a large C-shaped sign in front of the building. The car stopped, and we climbed down.

The groomsmen’s car was not too far behind.

When we started walking in, they were climbing down from the car. They joined us within seconds. The cake theme. The place looked beautiful. It had a cream colored wall and diamond tiles. The display case was the most eye-catching. It had several slices of cake, with each of its names written on a small tag, then stuck into the cake.

The manager walked towards us with an apron wrapped around her waist and a tag that read "Manager " pinned to her shirt “Welcome to Cakey Bakery. I heard a lovely couple was joining us today, and who might that be?”

“I'm the bride.” Lilith lifted her hand.

“And the groom?” the manager questioned with searching eyes.

Lilith turned and walked towards Elias, pushing past anyone who stood in her path and didn't, especially me. I stood my ground, so she ended up stumbling and finding her footing again.

She got to Elias, grabbed him and pulled him towards the manager. “This is the groom,” she said.

“You both make a lovely couple,” the manager commented. “Now I know you all have been waiting to taste the delicious options we have for you, but I'm sorry to inform you that there has been a little setback”.

“What?” Lilith practically yelled.

“I’m sincerely sorry, but there was a little mix-up in the options you had chosen. There is another couple set to come in today, so my staff got the options mixed up, and we're trying to clear it up. We only want to provide premium service for our special couple, so I hope you will be able to wait,” the manager explained.

“Aww, she called us a special couple,” Lilith cooed.

“How long is this going to take?” Elias questioned.

“We don't have a set time, but I assure you we won't keep you long,” the manager answered.

“Just let her be since she's a sweet person,” Lilith nudged him. “Take all the time you need. As long as everything comes out perfect”.

Five minutes passed, and no one had come to meet us. I was getting a bit bored, so I decided to leave. I was going to do something that Helena had never done. I was going to meet her lawyer.

The apocalypse was coming, and I had to get prepared for it. Besides getting revenge on Lilith and her musketeers, I had to protect myself as well.

I couldn't die a second time.

I left without a second word and took a cab to the lawyer’s office. I walked into the building and navigated my way to the top floor. “Where's Mr. Channing?” I questioned. I remembered his name vividly.

His personal assistant rushed out of her office and got in between the conversation I was having with a random person in the hallway. “Miss Graves, you're here?”

“Surprised? Now where's Mr. Channing?”

“He's busy,” she explained.

“I didn't ask if he was busy, I asked where's your boss”.

“He doesn't want anyone in his office right now”.

I frowned. “Are you going to point me to his office or keep boring me with your words?”

She gulped and pointed towards the end of the hall.

I turned and headed towards it.

She followed. “Is there any way you could come some other time and we reschedule this impromptu meeting?”

I gave her no response and just kept walking.

I was close to the door, so I lifted my hand and reached for the handle.

Before I could grab it, she stepped in front of me. “I can't let you in”.

I frowned.

What was it that she was trying so hard to protect? What was my lawyer hiding?

  • Transmigration Into The Apocalypse As The Villainess   Peanut cake

Helena’s P.O.V“You are so jealous of Lilith; it’s sickening,” the bridesmaid said, irked, while I just stood there staring at the ground. It became increasingly impossible to contain my emotions. I had been hit multiple times, and it hadn’t even been a week. I took a minute, refusing to let them see how water welled in my eye. I sucked it up and turned to face her. “Why would I be jealous of her?” I questioned with furrowed eyebrows. “You tried to kill her,” the bridesmaid answered.I almost laughed. “Why would I waste my time doing that?” “You were the absent one when her allergy flared up. Everyone knows she’s allergic to peanuts and how she gets when she eats—”“Exactly.” I stepped forward and held her gaze. I was so sure she had something to do with it because she was so eager and insistent on playing the hero. She wanted to be recognized as the one who brought down the villain- me- but I would not give her that satisfaction. “Then where had you gone during the cake tasting?”

Helena’s P.O.V“Step aside!” I demanded, and it took his personal assistant a few minutes before she dropped her hands and stepped to the side. I reached for the doorknob and pulled it open. It was then that I understood why his personal assistant was stopping. It was quite an irritating sight; my lawyer was on his knees while his mistress sat with her unbuttoned shirt, holding onto his tie. “The fuck is going on?” I asked, to stop the craziness. Their heads shot in my direction, then they separated. Hands reached for shirts and trousers, buttoning and zipping. The mistress stood up and buttoned her shirt. She walked past me with her head lowered. “Miss Graves,” she greeted me before she got to the front door. I walked forward, then grabbed a chair and took a seat while I waited for my lawyer to collect himself. He groaned to clear his throat as he took a seat. “Miss Graves, I didn't know you'd be coming around,” he pointed out the obvious. “I didn't tell you, now did I?” I quest

Helena’s P.O.VI grabbed my keys from the receptionist before I headed to my hotel room. It was quite considerate of them to get a hotel for their guest, but of course, they didn't pay for Helena. I was the villain after all. I rolled my eyes and walked down the hallway. I stopped between two doors. My gaze glanced from one to the other. Was it 123 or 133 I saw in the novel? I couldn't quite tell. I took a breath, then turned to 133. I silently hoped it was the right room. I grabbed the handle and was about to insert the key when the door pushed back slightly. It was already open. My eyebrows furrowed. Had I left it open? Or had someone broken in? It took me a few seconds before I stepped into the room. I shut the door slowly behind me, but I didn't turn the lights on immediately. If there was anything I learnt in the real world in a city filled with criminals, turning the lights on immediately was begging to be shut. The irony. I rolled my eyes. When the tenth second passed,

Helena’s P.O.V My eyes snapped open to see eyes staring back at me. A crowd filled the large hall, and I couldn't recognize any faces. They stood far away yet close enough to see the situation play out. They all wore luxurious dresses and suits, and it made me wonder what exactly was happening. I still scanned the room. A large chandelier hung above us, glistening in the light. It took my breath away. I hadn't seen anything like it. Wait. Blood. My head dropped and my hand shot to my dress. My eyes widened as I realized I was no longer wearing the thrifted jeans and bloodied shirt I had on, but a black long gown with a dangerous slit that stopped at my thigh. The jewelry looked perfect with the gown, and I couldn't imagine anything better. The only problem was this wasn't something I could afford. “Helena!” A voice called, but not in a sweet tone. Hate gripped the words so tightly my head shut up. I had never heard so much anger squished in a sentence so much. “Apologize righ

Helena’s P.O.VThe old mouth of the gun pressed against my forehead, this was the third time it was happening this week.My hands had grown used to being held above my head so the robbers won’t think I was trying anything funny.I kept my face expressionless; at the moment I couldn’t make any, all I wanted was to get back to the novel I was reading. My gaze shifted to the novel a few times, I wanted to find out what was going to happen. The villain was about to make the annoying main character, Lilith pay for embarrassing her. “Money. Now!” The robber ordered and I nodded. My hands reached for the cash register and tugged the compartment open. 10 dollars and two cents. I sighed. The robber won’t be happy but it was a slow night. I reached in, tugged them out and dropped them on the counter. His gaze shifted from the cash then to me, twice. He was pissed and it was visible on his face. The way his eyebrows furrowed, jaw clenched and veins popped out, it was either he was going to
