Chapter-04

“What were you doing” A gruff voice entered Angelo’s ear even before he could enter the study of Leonardo properly.

He noticed Leonardo was boring holes in his head and his eyes were blazing with anger.

He was standing in front of the window which face the porch of the mansion.

Anyone would love this view that the front garden and beautiful fountain can provide from Leonardo’s place, but Angelo knew clearly it would be the last thing this man will enjoy.

“I went to pick Isabella up from the airport,” Angelo said not noticing the neck of Leonardo’s neck was popping out of anger.

“Stay away from her.” A straight command came, making Angelo confused.

Leonardo knew how close Angelo is to Isabella.

So why does he need to stay away from her?

But he didn’t dare to question him back.

Though Leonardo is not one of those who create problems for his employees they didn’t end well who tried to mess with him.

Angelo knew his work was done, so he walked out of the room with a confused look.

Isabella who was back after four years run toward her mother’s room excitedly.

But when she entered her room, she was not there.

And it didn’t look like anyone was living here as the furniture was covered with clothes.

She was confused but started to walk toward the mansion.

Even if she has moved away from this room, she must be in the kitchen.

She can ask her later where she is living if she was not living in her room.

There was a small door that can give you entry to the kitchen for the backyard and Isabella entered from that door silently.

Her mom was busy making some soup while she was giving orders to her other subordinate.

Angelo’s mom, Samara, noticed Isabella, she was going to call her excitedly and but Isabella hold her finger close to her lips giving her a signal to stay silent.

Isabella walked toward the counter, and a maid gave her a place, and she started to cut the salad slowly.

“Sonia, what are you doing? Do it fast. Master will arrive anytime.” Vivian, Isabella’s mom, was saying without looking at her.

“Sonia.” She yelled when she noticed Salad was not done yet.

When she turned to give her a scolding she was surprised when she noticed Isabella cutting the salad.

“Izzy,” she exclaimed and the ladle fall from her hand.

A happy tear fall from her eyes and she walked toward her and pull her in a tight hug.

“Mom, can’t breathe,” Isabella said, chuckling.

But Vivian moved away and smacked her.

“Stupid girl. How could you come before informing?” She asked. Isabella moved away but the smack still fall on her head.

“Do I need to inform you before coming back home?” Isabella asked, but Vivian was a crying mess.

“You stupid girl. You are here after four years you know? Do you know how much I have missed you? How lonely I was without you?” Vivian was complaining constantly, but Isabella pulled her into a hug and the duo started to cry happily.

“I have missed you,” Isabella said in between sobs.

“Me too.” Vivian kissed her forehead and patted her head.

“Are you done with your studies? Or you are going back again.” Samara asked coming close and Isabella hugged her too.

“No, I am not leaving you anymore,” Isabella said, and they were chatting happily when a maid came from outside.

“Master will be here soon. Madam has ordered to set the table.” The maid said and Vivian nodded.

“Isabella, you can sit here. I will be done in a minute.” Vivian got back to her work and everyone returned to their designated space.

The kitchen was busy, and Isabella has noticed this scene many times while growing up.

She was two years old when her father left them.

He was an employee under Rossi too.

When Vivian was homeless after her husband’s death, Mrs. Rossi offered her this job.

Vivian was not educated, so this job was a light in his dark path.

From then on, Vivian worked here.

Isabella can’t remember her mother anywhere other than in this kitchen.

When they were setting up their table, the same maid who came to call Angelo walked inside.

“Master Alessandro is here for dinner. He wanted to meet Isabella. He has ordered her to bring food inside.” The maid said in an apologetic voice.

Though Isabella doesn’t know her, she must have known who Isabella is.

“How did he know about Isabella’s return?” Vivian asked confused.

“He was looking for Angelo, and he went to pick up Isabella. So I tell him that. I didn’t know…” The maid was looking guilty.

Though Isabella lives here, she is not a maid.

Everyone knew that.

Then why did Master order her to bring food inside?

“Isabella is not a maid here. She doesn’t need to bring food inside. I will take the food. You just come with me.” Samara said, trying to normalize the situation.

But Isabella knew she would fall in trouble if she defied her master’s words.

Samara has always cared for her, and she was a mother figure to her.

She didn’t want to put her in trouble.

“It’s Ok. I can go.” Isabella walked forward and took the cart.

“But, Izzy…” Samara was protesting but Isabella didn’t mind.

“Aunt, it’s Ok. Though I don’t work here as a maid, my mom does. And I can’t deny if it was not for their money I would also be working somewhere in this mansion as a maid. I am grateful to them. It’s just simple work. It doesn’t matter.” Isabella explain.

She didn’t mind doing these works, though.

She has learned from childhood no work is disgraceful.

And it won’t harm her if she does as Master Alessandro wanted.

“Is this all I need to take inside?” She asked, and Vivian nodded.

She patted her daughter’s shoulder and Isabella smiled and nodded reassuringly.

It doesn’t matter to Isabella, though.

But she didn’t know this thing was going to create a mess inside the mansion.
