Chapter-05

Isabella came out of the kitchen and noticed Mr. Rossi was sitting on the head chair while Mrs. Rossi was sitting beside her and another person was sitting opposite Mrs. Rossi whose back was facing her.

She could easily guess who the person is, but she didn’t care and walked forward.

When Mrs. Rossi noticed her she was getting up from her chair excitedly but Mr. Rossi glared at her, and she sat back in her place.

Leonardo didn’t know what was happening, so he was busy on his phone like always.

It’s difficult to run such a big empire so smoothly and hold the top place constantly for four years.

He is a busy man, but he didn’t care about his busy schedule as long as he can get what he wants.

Leonardo is born to rule and nothing can take it away from him, he won’t let anyone take it.

Isabella walked toward the table and started to place the food methodically. she thought she could leave after placing the dish as there was another maid to serve the dishes. But who knew she was not here to fulfill a simple demand?

Someone wanted to show her what was her place in this house.

“Where are you going? Don’t you know you need to serve the food, too?” Alessandro said loud and clear when she was leaving. Mrs. Rossi was confused why he was talking to her like this, but she didn’t voice out her dissatisfaction.

She knew if her husband want to do something nobody can stop him. Isabella didn’t like his behavior, but she didn’t want to behave rudely with the person who has helped her a lot.

She walked toward the table and started to serve the dishes. When she was serving the food to Leonardo, Mrs. Rossi called out suddenly.

“Izzy, Leo Don’t like this dish.... don’t serve him that.”

Mrs. Rossi was concerned about her son, but hearing the name falling out from her lips brought out a reaction to her son’s face.

Leonardo’s hand stiffen, and he stopped doing what he was doing on the phone.

But his knuckle was getting white, giving the idea of how hard he was controlling his emotion.

Isabella put the spoon and back out.

Everyone was eating their dinner only Leo was sitting stiffly on his chair.

He didn’t show any eagerness to eat his food, and he was typing on his phone like before.

“Why don’t you eat? Didn’t you like the food?” Alessandro asked calmly.

But Leonardo looked at him with bloodshot eyes.

If looks could kill, he would be six feet under, but Alessandro was unfazed by his son’s look.

He was behaving as if nothing has happened, but something was boiling inside him.

Isabella couldn’t see what was transpiring between the father and son, and neither she cared.

She thought she could handle it.

But how Alessandro was berating her with her every effort and how he was ordering her constantly during the dinner she was feeling uncomfortable.

It was not because she was feeling ashamed, as Alessandro was treating her as a maid; it was because she was feeling her presence was unacceptable to him.

His words were directed to one bitter truth, her arrival was unwanted and Alessandro wanted to make her leave this place with embarrassment.

“Leo, if you don’t like the food I can order the kitchen to make something else for you.” Mrs. Rossi was anxious about her son.

Her son is always busy with his work and never cares about his health.

How could she let him suffer from hunger just because the maid didn’t make something he wanted to eat?

“It’s not the food. I lost my appetite.” Leonardo got up, giving no one a chance to stop him.

Isabella couldn’t understand what happened and what offended him. But she felt his words were directed at her.

Though she didn’t want to feel bad, she couldn’t stop herself from feeling hurt.

It’s not her fault. She didn’t come here willingly.

“You can leave.” Alessandro’s strict order came, and Isabella left the dining room without wasting a moment.

Her eyes welled up unintentionally.

She never felt so humiliated, and his words directly hit her heart.

Did her presence repulse Mr. Leonardo Rossi so much that he lost his appetite?

It was not she was willing to be there.

Maybe she should have agreed to Samara’s idea.

When she entered the kitchen, her mom noticed her withered face.

“What happened?” She asked out of concern, but Isabella didn’t want to make her worry.

It’s just a matter of time.

As soon as she gets a job, she will leave this place.

She didn’t want to stay where she was unwanted.

She would also try to pay her debt, though she knows such small money won’t matter to Rossi, still she didn’t want to spend her life in guilt.

“Nothing. I was just feeling tired. The journey was long and I couldn’t sleep out of excitement.” Isabella tried to make an excuse.

“Come, I will show you your room.” The maid who came to inform her walked forward.

“I am Nia. I work here for the last two years. You don’t know me. But I know you. Angelo always talks about you.” Nia said eagerly.

Isabella smiled, hearing her words. Though she didn’t know her, she could easily get along with her, as they are of the same age.

“Let’s go.” Nia held her hand and pull her along with her.

“I usually work inside the mansion. But I stay here in servant quarter. My room is next to yours. Though you must be well known as you used to live here, if you want anything, you can ask me.” Nia said again, smiling.

This girl was so cheery, Isabella’s sad mood instantly changed. “Don’t mind, master Leo’s word. He is usually like this, cold, and grumpy. You are nothing special.” Nia tried to make her feel comfortable.

“I thought I must have done something wrong,” Isabella said sadly.

“Nah, everything except his handsome face is wrong. I don’t know why he is so grumpy. Maybe he should come out of his boring office and get a life. If he goes like this, I am sure he would someday burn himself out of his own anger.” Nia was saying every word seriously.

Maybe she was also dissatisfied with his behavior.

“I just hope I can stay away from him as long as I stay here. I am leaving the mansion, anyway.” Isabella said.

“Where you will go?” Nia asked sadly. “Don’t know, maybe I will find a job, and rent an apartment so that I can move out from here. I can’t live here as I am not a servant.” Isabella said.

“Don’t bother, even if you stay here no one will know. You can take a job, but don’t waste the money on an apartment.” Nia suggested.

Though Isabella knew she was telling the truth, she doesn’t want to live here. After what happened today, she was determined to leave this mansion ASAP.

I don’t blame her. Mr. Rossi doesn’t like her bc she’s a servants child and bc his son won’t marry anyone but her.
