Kayla drove to the hospital. She parked in the lot and hastened into the building, struggling to keep her tears at bay. Throughout her stay in Qynville, it had been all about sadness and tears. Again, how possible did Anthony think it would be to divorce her after everything she'd been through with him? Now that she needed him as both the man she fell in love with and Clinton, he wanted to divorce her. As soon as Nora opened the door to her office, Kayla rushed in and hugged Nora, who stood near the door. She cried her heart out in Nora's arms.

“Anthony wants to get a divorce. I'm scared, Nora. I'm really scared, I don't want to leave him.”

“Hey, sweetie, relax. I know it's not easy, but I need you to calm down.” Nora crooned, helping Kayla take a seat. She squatted before Kayla and took her hands. “Did you sign the papers?”

“How could I, Nora? After everything I've been through with him? Now that I want him the most? I can't. My efforts can't be futile, and my baby needs her father.”
