MICHAEL'S POV

"No speaking, no sounds. Just hand signals only."

The guard read the rule from the card and stepped back while the door to the game floor opened. Sarah and I walked in together.

The floor was a grid—twenty rooms connected by corridors, each room with a locked door requiring a sequence to open. The sequences were visible on panels beside each door but required two people to activate simultaneously from different positions. Impossible alone, but designed entirely for pairs.

SARAH'S POV"Claudia Hart is pregnant."Davina stood in my doorway at seven in the morning, dressed, bag on her shoulder, looking at me with the calm of someone who had rehearsed exactly how to deliver this sentence and had decided flat was the right register.I stared at her. "What?""Six months." She stepped inside without being invited, pushed the door shut behind her. "Michael's child. I know because I know how Claudia operates, she doesn't carry leverage she hasn't confirmed. She confirmed it before the Trial House fell." She set her bag on the chair, turned to face me. "She has been sitting on this information, waiting for the moment it would do the most damage."I sat down on the edge of the bed."She chose now," Davina continued, "because you and Michael came out of that building together, and she watched it happen, and she understands exactly what that means for her plans." She looked at me directly. "Claudia Hart does not lose gracefully, Sarah. She burns everything on her w

MICHAEL'S POV"You came back to me."Sarah stirred slightly on the bed, eyes still closed, her breathing slow. I wasn't talking to her sleeping form exactly. I was talking to her the way I talked to things I was still processing, out loud, quietly, testing how the words sounded in a room.I sat on the edge of the bed, looking at her face in the pale morning light coming through the curtain gap."You walked into that bathroom ready to fight me," I continued, low, almost a murmur. "Arms crossed, jaw set, every line of you saying you had already decided what you were going to say." I watched her shoulders rise and fall. "Garrett had you last night. Alvin had you after that. Then you walked into my bathroom, and within ten minutes you were in the water with me." I leaned forward, elbows on my knees. "You can love both of them and mean it. I don't dispute that. But when you stop thinking, you move toward me. You always have... You always will."She didn't wake up. She just breathed.I sto

  • Trapped In My Husband’s Golden Cage    Chapter 131: “He’s Standing Right In Front Of You”

SARAH'S POV"His name is Rael."Michael mentioned it to the mirror above the sink, hands under running water, not looking at me. I stood in the bathroom doorway with my arms crossed, watching the back of his head, waiting for the rest of it.The bathtub behind him was full, bubbles settling at the surface, steam rising in thin curls. He had a towel around his waist, nothing else. The burn scar from the mansion still climbed the side of his neck, familiar now in a way it hadn't been weeks ago."He claims Marcus had a third son," Michael continued, turning off the tap, reaching for the hand towel on the rail. "He wants the network, not the building, the network. Sixty winners placed across twelve countries, financial infrastructure, and communication channels. All of it was still running with no Controller."He turned to face me."I'm going to take his offer," he announced. "Not the Controller role, not the network as it was built to function." He held my gaze steadily. "I helped build

  • Trapped In My Husband’s Golden Cage    Chapter 130: “Garrett Or Michael?

ALVIN'S POV"She told me I wasn't a monster."Nobody heard it. I said it to the empty street because saying it out loud was the only way to check if it still felt true. The step was cold through my clothes. I had been sitting on it since two in the morning, back against the door, knees up, watching the street do nothing. No games, no screens, no horn counting down to something designed to kill me. Just a silent road, a handful of streetlights, the kind of ordinary I had spent my whole life being kept away from.I thought about Serena. When she saved me from my own evil mother. The pipe she swung, plus the sound it made when it connected with Patricia's skull. The way she looked afterward, breathing hard, not sorry, completely certain she had done the right thing. She was more like me than I had admitted then.Same damage, same anger and same willingness to swing when swinging was the only language available. She died in that subway station, and I was not there. I had been unconscious

  • Trapped In My Husband’s Golden Cage    Chapter 129: “I’ve Missed You Too”

SARAH'S POV"Is this what normal feels like?"Nobody answered because nobody was awake to answer. I mentioned it to the kitchen, to the window, to the ordinary street outside where a car rolled past without hurrying, headlights sweeping the wall, gone.I wrapped both hands around the cup Viktor's contact had left in the cabinet. The tea had gone cold twenty minutes ago. I kept holding it anyway because having something to hold felt necessary. The safe house was unremarkable in the way Viktor did everything, functional, clean, chosen for what it wasn't rather than what it was. No cameras on the exterior. No neighbors close enough to matter. Seven people breathing in separate rooms, alive, outside, no games running.I sat with that.No games running. No horn at five in the morning. No water rising in a sealed room. No screen updating a life count. No Controller's voice filling the corridor with something designed to break the person hearing it.Just a kitchen, a window and a street. It

MICHAEL'S POV"Your father had more sons than you knew about."The voice came from the direction of the SUV before I fully processed that the door had opened. I turned. The man stood fifty meters out, hands loose at his sides, no weapon visible. He was looking directly at me, not at the survivors dispersing around us, not at the building settling into its final collapse behind us, not at the agents working the perimeter. At me specifically."I am the third one," he continued, walking forward at a pace that was unhurried but covered ground fast. "My name is Rael. I have been waiting for this building to come down for a very long time."I watched him close the distance. My brain ran the inventory before he reached me.Jaw: same line as mine, slightly heavier. Eyes: same depth, different color, darker by two shades. The way he carried his weight across both feet when he stopped, the particular stillness of a man who had learned that movement drew attention. I had seen that posture in mir

Serena lunged forward, throwing herself between me and the doctor. "Stay away from her, you psycho bitch!"One of the orderlies grab
