Chapter 27 DEACTIVATED

It was around noon when Ashley arrived at her apartment.

After paying for the taxi, she staggered into the unit and since she felt somewhat dizzy, she directed herself to the wide couch and slumped her exhausted body to rest.

She drifted off to sleep for a couple of hours and when she opened her eyes, it was already dark. She stretched out her arms and limbs before she stood up and went to the kitchen to find something to eat. However, as she opened her refrigerator, she became speechless.

There was nothing but a few bottled water piled neatly inside the fridge. It was then that she recalled, she hadn't been home for a couple of days that's why the shelves were all empty. She resigned and thought that the bottle of water would do at least so she took one, twisted the cap, and gulped the entire content before she resumed resting in her bedroom.
