Anton was reluctant to join his family on a sudden trip. It was abrupt and he didn't even have the slightest idea as to where they are heading. Furthermore, his mind was full of that woman, thinking that she might've been drunk the whole night and the next possible events was unimaginable for him.
There was this slight pinch that makes him feel irritated as he thought that she might have hooked up with that guy!
However, he shook his head and thought. 'She's not here and her life is none of my business!'
As the plane landed, Anton lazily went out after the elders. His usual exhausted appearance was then replaced by excitement when he saw, none other than his best friend standing while waiting for them.
Terrence grinned at him as he glided down the iron stairs.
"How's the flight?"He asked him but he only received a death glare from Anton.
"Up until now, you didn't even tell me why you have to be here on this little island! What the hell are you doing here when you have a company to manage in the city?!" He confronted him right there and then.
Terrence stared at him sympathetically and uttered, "I'm sorry. I wasn't able to be with you during those times. I was..."
Anton sighed. "I guess we have the same fate, aren't we? Happiness for us is luxury."
"Hmm, let's get in the car. We're going to be late." Terrence urged him quickly after peering at his wristwatch.
Anton took the passenger seat after letting the elders settle in a separate car.
"Does it help?" He asked in a melancholic voice.
"I don't know what to say, man. I didn't expect that to happen either." Terrence replied in the same tone.
"I lost two women in just a year." Anton said, "Make's me think if I needed to change my lifestyle."
"What are you talking about?" Terrence sounds confused. "How many girlfriends do you have?"
Anton glared at him and spoke, "I only have one and a sister! Are you nuts?!"
it was then that Terrence come to realize that his friend have no idea why he was here on the island. 'Does this also mean that Miss Mills remained tight-lipped towards him for weeks?'
"Ahm, I heard that Miss Mills is now working under you. How was it?" Terrence asked for his wife's sake.
"If not for the fact that she was the reason for Pamela's death, I would have promoted her already. She's smart and capable but..."
Terrence sighed heavily in reply. "But you can't because that alone holds you back to appreciate that side of her."
Anton just kept himself silent after hearing the latter's words. He strikes that right spot and even if he denies it, no one knows him better than him. They were buddies after all and he was capable of seeing right through him.
Terrence leads them to a beach house.
"Alright! We're here!" He mused as he exited his car and Anton followed suit.
"What are we doing here?" He looked at the latter in confusion as he noticed a few bunches of flowers decorated in the corner. "Is there a wedding here?"
Terrence patted him on the shoulder and said, "Today is my wedding and you're here to stand as my best man. I hope you won't feel bad when you think of your sister."
Anton's brows furrowed then he spotted their elders laughing, seemingly engaged in a funny discussion.
"So you're here to get married?" He questioned Terrence with a cold face.
The latter nodded. "Yes. I'm here to get married to the woman we discussed once."
Anton's eyes widened in disbelief. "Really? I didn't even know that you were going out with her! What does she look like?"
"You'll see her soon after you get change. How about doing me a little favor?"
"What? Do you want me to call my sister to rise from the dead and hunt you down?" Anton joked but his voice was so loud that even the elders heard him.
Ram Stanford scowled at him. "Brat! Stop saying nonsense if you don't want your grandma to rise from the dead and hunt you down for cursing your sister!"
Anton didn't think too much and just scratched his head as he displayed an apologetic smile. "I'm just kidding, Grandpa. Please don't take it to heart."
"Let's hurry! The ceremony is about to start!"
Mrs. Stanford urged them, then they all go to their separate rooms to get their outfits changed.

Ashley was in the same car with Athena and she felt nervous when she thought of Anton's possible reaction later when he learned that the sister he mourned for until now is still alive and she's even playing the role of her bride's maid.
The thought of her being humiliated in front of all the people by him later really makes her feel like running away but she held it back because she believed that he won't do such a thing in front of his family. At least not in front of her former boss.
As the car stopped, Castiel descended from his seat to open the back seat and she followed to assist the bride. She also learned that Athena doesn't have the slightest idea about her wedding today so she has to deal with a lot of questions later.
She was just lucky that it was Mr. Monroe standing by her side otherwise, the bride would have accused her of fibbing. However, that wasn't the case for sure later when she faced the man who hated her guts to death and she carefully braced herself to that possible outcome!
The music starts to play and they began to walk in the aisle.
Ashley spotted Anton wearing a white tuxedo, standing not far away from the groom and his face painted nothing but pure shock as he watched the bride getting closer to his position.
Not wanting to get his attention, she darted her gaze ahead like she haven't seen him as Athena halted in front of him.
He hugged her tight after uttering some emotional words and Ashley swore that he was trying to bore holes in her face even if she wasn't looking at him at the moment.
Terrence and Athena exchanged vows while Anton and Ashley went to follow the next step as part of their roles in the wedding until it ended.
Ashley stands in the corner with Castiel by her side when the bride approaches her.
"There you are..." She said with a smile as she handed a goblet filled with wine. "Can I possibly have a toast with my sister?"
Castiel took that as a hint thus he left the two women to their privacy.
Ashley took it and clinked glasses with her. "I'm honored to be part of this wedding. Thank you so much for inviting me." She said, teary-eyed.
"What are you saying?" Athena frowned. "You always saved me from harm. If not for you, I would have been dead by now and Terrence would have married a witch instead of me. I'm lucky to have you."
Ashley lowered her head, unable to accept Athena's praise because deep down, she become horrible in someone else's eyes.
"I didn't know that a person similar to a PANDORA's BOX existed until now." Anton chimes in and Ashley hurriedly excused herself, as she received an unexpected call from an unknown number.
The weekend ended fast and now it's Monday, Ashley's most dreadful day of the week since she joined the company."Good morning, Mr. Stanford."Ashley greeted professionally as she entered the office, opening her tab to check her boss' schedules for the whole day.Anton inquired while looking at her, "Did you enjoy yourself?"Her fingers halted from scrolling on the tab screen as she spoke. "What do you mean, Mr. Stanford?""You know what I mean! Don't play dumb!" He snapped at her irritably.Ashley took a deep breath and braced herself for his anger. "I'm sorry, but I don't understand. Could you please be more specific?""Huh!" Anton scoffed. "You could've told me about my sister to lessen my pain but you..." "I can't reveal that information, it's not my place to do so," she replied professionally.Upon hearing Athena's account of the events that transpired on the island, Anton reflected on his actions toward the woman. He experienced a mixture of shame and anger for being kept in th
Her phone inside her pocket vibrated but she didn't have much time to pay attention to it.The pain was too immense for her to bear and she could hardly endure it.The cab stopped outside a small clinic after a few minutes and Ashley scrambled to get in after paying the driver."Klein!" She shouted, breathing heavily. "I need your help!"A man similar to her age ran out of his little office, startled."What the hell?! What's wrong with you?"She stared at him with a contorting face.Seconds later, Klein cursed under his breath."You're in trouble! You forgot to take your shot?!" He hissed as he quickly assisted her toward his office, letting her sit on the sofa. "You've become more and more careless, Ash! What's happening to you?!" He nagged at her while searching for the special syringe inside his drawers which he prepared for her at times like this."I was too swarmed with work these days." She mumbled in a low voice."Lay down!" He commanded and she followed. She felt the needle pe
"What happened?!" Ashley asked Wella as soon as she arrived. She first noticed her looking pale, standing outside a certain door, walking back and forth anxiously which made her think that perhaps the latter made a huge error that might affect the partnership of both companies. "Uh, uhm..." Wella stammered looking utterly nervous. "Mr. Hall said that he..." "Wella, calm down first," Ashley instructed as she noticed the latter was having trouble forming her words. "Breath in, breathe out." The latter did as she told and after a few seconds of regaining her composure, she finally uttered hesitantly. "Mr. Hall refused to sign the contract and insisted to meet you. I'm sorry..." Ashley frowned nearing that. "What?" "Mr. Hall wants to meet you and I don't know why he requested such a thing," Wella repeated albeit calculatingly. "What should we do? Mr. Stanford would definitely..." "I'll meet him," Ashley replied without hesitation which put Wella's heart at ease. "Where is he?" She
"Did you miss me that much?"Kyle joked as he occupied the empty barstool beside Ash upon his arrival at Monroe's Bar. His playful gaze roamed around and halted somewhere on the full-jammed dance floor."Cut the crap, Kyle." She warned in a playful tone after consuming the content of her glass. "We don't have much time earlier to discuss something about the orphanage...""You wanna go there and have a look?!" He asked loudly. She neither nodded nor shook her head and Kyle knows why. However, its been years had passed since she left and since then she never returned, not until now.He sighed as he dropped his arm on her shoulder."We're adults now, Ash. We both know that what happened back then was not their fault. It was the consequence of our choice." He pacified.Ashley downed another glass of liquor before she answered."I can't get over the fact that they trusted the wrong people to adopt Suzy so easily. They ignored our warnings. If only they listened then none of us would have b
Anton didn't know what had gotten into him when he followed her into the ladies' room earlier. He was thankful that he was able to avoid another embarrassment when the woman insisted on going home rather than doing her business in front of him as he didn't how would he face her when the morning came. After sending Ashley to her apartment, he went straight home, took a shower, and occupied his bed. However, no matter how he tried to close his eyes, he couldn't sleep. The conversation between them at the hotel earlier still bugs him and it makes him feel upset for some strange reason. This was also the reason why he went to the bar to unwind but he caught her with a stranger. He tried to ignore her at first thinking that she was enjoying it but as soon as he saw her struggling, he finally decided to intervene. That was when he also noticed a familiar figure approaching them, looking furious. Their eyes met for a brief moment then the next second he found him throwing his fist at the
The words "PERFECT SUBJECTS" brought a wave of immense anger inside her. Once again, the memories of the past that she tried to forget flashed in her mind making her furious. However, she didn't have much time to care about her emotions as Anton's agonizing grunts were getting louder and she was afraid that somebody else might hear him so she went back to his room. "Mr. Stanford," She gasped as she saw him sweating profusely. "Ashley Mills..." He mumbled breathlessly. "I recall hearing you say that we have something in common..." "I did." She admitted that these were the exact words she said to him during their encounter at the hotel a few months ago."Were you... Talking about... Feeling this kind of hell?" Instead of answering, she pursed her lips and went silent as she wasn't ready to admit such a shameful fact. He went on, "I can't recall anything from the past but there were vivid images in my dreams..." Her eyes widened as she asked. "What... What did you see?" He shut
As soon as they entered the restaurant, Ashley politely excused herself and Anton went to their reserved table. The waitress approached him enthusiastically, as usual, issuing the menu in her hand."Mr. Stanford," The lady greeted. "Here you are,""Hi, Cass." Anton greeted back, waving his hand. "No need for that. I want the usual. Two orders, please."He ordered right away while glancing in the direction where Ashley had gone earlier."Oh, you came with somebody else?" Cass asked curiously while jotting down her notes.Anton frowned at the lady's audacity."Can't I?" He blurted seemingly annoyed. The lady lowered her head and apologized."I'm sorry. I just thought that were the same. I honestly can't get over Pamela's death though it's been a couple of months already..."He sighed as he realized that he might've hurt the lady's feelings for acting a bit harsh towards her earlier when she was just thinking about her old friend."I'm sorry." He also apologized. "I didn't mean to say t
Threatening her won't really work but under Anton's willfulness, she has to give in to avoid a lot more complications of their agreement in the next couple of months before it ends. Moreover, he has full control of it in any way so she didn't bother to argue with him about it as long as he didn't demand something harder than those conditions, she was fine by it. As soon as Ashley saw the rays of sunrise from the window, she jumped out of bed and proceeded to the bathroom for her morning routine. However, she recalled that she didn't have any spare clothes to change and toiletries to use thus she went out of the room with her car key in hand. She tiptoed when she passed outside his door towards downstairs, thinking that her boss was still sleeping. However, when her hand reached to twist the knob, a cold voice coming from behind froze her on the spot. "Were you trying to escape?!" Startled, her eyes widened as she swirled around. "G-good morning, Mr. Stanford." She greeted while
