Aurora POV

Pain exploded across my cheeks and my head snapped sideways at the force of the punch. A small cut at the side of my lip was already pooling with blood. I spat it out on the classroom floor before turning to face her.

Everything about her screamed money. I could tell from the designer bag slung over her shoulder, the manicured nails, and the way she carried herself like I owed her an apology for punching my face.

“Are you okay, Rora?” Ethan rushed out of his chair, his hands handing

Dante POVThe anonymous message beeped on my phone, one I was already about to ignore, but something about the image that popped up on the screen made me open it. The video made me forget breathing for a second.I played it repeatedly, my hands shaking badly, barely making the phone fall off my hands. Aurora’s voice shook, her face bruised, and blood escaping her lips, and the way that lady yanked her hair must have hurt so much. Her shaky cough sparked something in me, something that if the lady was standing here, her head would have been rolling on the pretty floor.Lucien didn’t growl this time. He roared, scaring the shit out of the guards and drawing Marco’s attention to me.“Boss,” Marco called carefully, standing a few feet away, watching me with so much caution. The last time this happened, it claimed a lot of lives.I ignored him and hurriedly dialed the number back myself, my finger tapping the screen, clearly impatient for the call to be picked at the other end.Thankfully,

Aurora POVThe guards’ grip tightened around my arm as they dragged me out through the narrow corridor, with the woman at the front while Ethan trailed behind us.“Don’t take me anywhere!” I shouted, trying to struggle from the group of guards.Neither of them waited or stopped the guards.“Weak thing,” the lady, whose name I later learnt to be Maya, muttered.“Just tell me where you are taking me to?” I demanded, my voice loud enough to draw her attention.“Patience, poor thing. Didn’t Dante teach you at least that?” she responded coldly, while her heels clicked hard on the floor without bothering to spare me a glance. As we got to the corridor, my heart raced at the amount of low humming voices I was hearing. I knew there were several of Maya’s kind in there, and I knew whatever I was about to walk into was quite worse than what I had ever experienced.Maya pushed the door open before tossing my ass into the room.I stood in the room, registering the amount of people in it. Quite a

Aurora POVMy heart throbbed as consciousness slipped back into me. The first thing my senses noticed was the cold, hard concrete I was laying on, instead of a mattress I had now grown used to. The second was the damp smell of rust and metal, like I was somewhere I was supposed to be.My eyes flew open, squinting my eyes against the light coming from the bulb that was hanging above.“Where the hell is this place?” I muttered. That was when everything came rushing back. I was crying my eyes out, heading back to my room, when someone came from behind with some handkerchief forcefully placed in my nose and mouth. I tried hard to struggle, but whatever was in the handkerchief had knocked me out seconds later.“Dante,” I called weakly, really thinking all this was all part of his scheme because he was angry at me.But no response came, and that got my heart throbbing even more. My mind was already registering that I was in some kind of danger.I tried to sit up, but then I realized my hand

Dante POVI paced the length of my room, my fists clenched so tight my knuckles had gone stiff and white. Lucien was still pacing beneath my skin, snarling, demanding I go back and finish what I started with that boy who thought he had any right to stand that close to what belonged to me.Mine. Aurora was mine, and some pretty-faced university boy thought a smile and a walk to class gave him claim to her.I ran a hand through my hair, forcing air into my lungs, forcing Lucien back down where he belonged. I hadn’t lost control like that in years, not since before Aurora. And that alone unsettled me more than the boy ever could.A knock sounded at my door, soft, deliberate.I knew who it was without needing to turn around. I had called Isabel over just to get Aurora away from the door, to give myself a moment to think without her crying voice breaking something inside me. But the second my eyes settled on Isabel, I knew calling her here had been a mistake. Something in my chest, in Luci

I bet

Aurora POV“Careful,” he said, crouching down to help gather the last of my scattered books before I could figure out what to say. This guy doesn’t know the effect he was having on me, and now he is even nice. I drooled over him, forgetting I have a class to attend.“My book,” he said, already straightening up, making me feel embarrassed because he caught me staring so hard at him.“I am really sorry. I wasn’t looking where I was going,” I said, handing over his book while I took mine from his stretched hands, his fingers brushing over mine, and that moment was so magical.“Aurora, come out of it.” I tried pinching myself. “Dante is twice as handsome as this dude standing here. Don’t you dare do something stupid,” my inner voice said, trying to cut me off from whatever I was going to do.“No harm done. First day?” he said, his eyes flickering briefly over my shoulder at the two guards trailing several paces behind.“Is it that obvious?” I asked, glancing down at myself.“You were usin
