Mag-log inAurora POV
My body jerked violently as the bullet pierced through my arm, ripping my skin apart. “Haaaaaa!” I screamed, a loud agonizing scream ripping from my throat before feeling weakness all over my joints. My strength suddenly gave way as warm blood flowed endlessly from my wound, soaking my clothes and pooling beneath my feet. My head gauged up, looking at the person that had put me in this mess. Dante De Luca. He sat so comfortably in that chair like he was some kind of hell king, watching me burn in fire. I wasn’t all wrong because that was the exact thing he was doing. His eyes settled on me, with unsettling coldness, completely devoid of sympathy. The silence around him felt heavy, carrying anger far more dangerous than an outburst. Tears rolled down my eyes, with fear aching in my heart each passing moment. Is this how I was going to die? No. I haven’t even gone to law school. Neither tasted love. Or had my Prince Charming. “Please…” I found myself begging. If there is anything I truly need right now, it is to stay alive, survive all this, and get my revenge, not only on my family but also on the ruthless Dante that had turned my life into the worst nightmare. “I didn’t mean to enter that room…” I begged, words almost choking my breath and my body all shaky. My voice cracked even more with another sob. I tried not to cry too much, but the pain was too much with each passing moment. Strength was already leaving my body, but I wasn’t ready to let go of the only option I had to stay alive. Begging. “Dante, please have mercy,” I panted. If only I knew begging would only lead me into more trouble. Dante never forgives, and the myths about him were true. He was cold as ice. “Paaaa.” Another bullet pierced into my left arm, tearing all of my muscles and making blood flow out even more, staining all of my clothes. He smirked, the only expression different from the cold frown he had been showing earlier. The crowd all watched in fearful silence. No one moved. Not even Isabel, his mistress. My head lifted a little again, eyes meeting with his mistress. Her teeth were all out as she watched every drop of blood leave my body. Behind her was the girl who I thought was helpful earlier. Now I get it. It was all Isabel’s doing after all. “Paaaa.” Dante pulled the trigger again. The bullet hit the tree above me, barely missing my head. Fear ripped my heart apart even more. What if he hadn’t missed? I would have been on my way to seeing my ancestors in heaven. Murmurs, chats, and the noise of crows in the morning brought me out of my sudden fear. Through my blurred vision, I sighted him turning away, with his guards trailing carefully behind him. Isabel followed after, so did the crowd who slowly walked away in silence. Some looked at me with pity, while some wore neutral expressions. What next? Is this how he will leave my body here? At least, for what it was worth, I deserved a burial even if it was not befitting. Another hot tear rolled out of my eyes, mixing with my blood. I waited for death just like anyone in my situation would, but it didn’t come early. The evening turned into night, the clouds closing up, with the moonlight shining brightly on my misfortune. The cold breeze of the night grazed my skin and the wounds, making me feel chills and pain. The crickets kept chirping, unbothered about a girl who was about to die on a strange island. No one came to check on me. Nobody tried saving me. Reality dawned on me. Dante had left me to die an agonizing death, to feel pain before finally facing my end. Just when every hope was lost and darkness had completely swallowed me, I felt something. A scent. Movement. Loosening of the ropes tied around my body. Warmth brushed my skin, a strong arm, or should I say a paw. My heart skipped. Was the wolf in the room earlier about to devour me? I was a girl with big dreams, but then I had suddenly become a meal for someone. Can life ever get worse? I tried forcing my eyes open, but all I saw with my fading vision was darkness. Through my half-closed eyes, I pictured that what was lifting me wasn’t human. I tried focusing my sight, but it only got blurred even more. Whatever was carrying me was moving me away from here. My eyes finally shut closed after so much struggle trying to stay conscious. ….. The loud cry of a baby pierced through the deep sleep I was trapped in. I wanted anything but to stop that cry that was too disturbing. My eyelids fought to open. A soft groan escaped from my mouth as I forced them open. The sudden brightness of the light made me shut them back close. I tried opening them again, this time slowly, until the brightness of the light became bearable. My eyes were greeted by an overwhelming shade of light. White light. White walls. White curtains. Even the figures moving around were all dressed in white. Is this heaven? Am I dead? I tried to move my body, but I was completely paralyzed. Nothing moved. For a brief moment, I completely believed I had finally come to join my ancestors. But that thought vanished when my stare landed on the clock hanging on the wall. Its hands moved steadily, each tick echoing in the room. Realization dawned on me. The ticking sound of the clock was what jolted me awake, not a baby’s cry. Did heaven keep track of time too? I wondered weakly. “She’s awake.” A sharp voice rang in the room, startling me. Before I could process what was happening, all the figures I thought were angels guiding heaven rushed to me. An elderly woman stood out. She had a stethoscope around her neck. Her wrinkled hands connected the stethoscope to my chest, examining my body. “Can you see me?” she asked, her hands waving in front of me. I parted my lips to respond, but nothing came out. I forced again, but nothing came out. “It’s okay,” the elderly lady said, as if noticing my struggle. “Just nod once if it is yes, twice if no.” “Can you see me?” she asked. I nodded once. “Can you move your hands?” I nodded twice. “Can…” the lady was still asking when the door went open, making everyone almost move back. I turned, eyes meeting with that one person that I never thought I would see again.Aurora’s POVStanding in front of Dante feels awkward, especially when I had dreamt I was in a romantic relationship with my boss.He sat with one leg crossed over the other, a glass of alcohol in his hands. His mouth wiped from the glass of wine before his gaze settled on my pathetic, bruised body. For one brief moment, I had thought he would come save my ass from hitting the floor as the guards tossed me forward, but I was wrong. He looked away almost immediately, his eyes settling back at the glass of wine.Isabel shifted closer, her hands resting on his shoulder as if she owned him.“Boss,” Marco said, bowing slightly. “The maid, as requested.”Dante’s cold eyes settled back on me, with no emotion nor recognition of the kiss we had. Neither did he behave like the one who had saved me from the cruel hands of this same evil mistress some days ago. What was I even thinking? He had done it for Luca, nothing else. For a long moment, he didn’t speak. My body shook as I felt his eyes tea
Aurora POV“Haaaa!” I screamed out loud as I jolted up from the floor I found myself on.Looking around, the first thing that caught my eyes was the number of people who had gathered, and the second was the queen who had sat on the throne like she controlled everyone here.I blinked repeatedly, trying to understand what the hell was going on.“Poor girl, she is doomed today,” someone whispered among the crowd.I frowned, confusion plastered all over my face.My gaze settled on my body. It was wet with mud, all staining the dress.I recognized these clothes. This was exactly what I was wearing the day I had been assigned to Isabel as her maid.No way. I am back in time, I frowned.“Tie her up,” Isabel’s voice rang out, jolting me out of whatever I was thinking.“What is going on?” I managed to ask.Isabel’s face frowned up, her eyes looking into mine with so much hatred.“You dare ask me that after burning my clothes?” she yelled, her ass standing up from the throne like chair she was
Aurora POVIt was almost ten o’clock in the morning by the time I woke up. No loud noise or bell sound, everything was calm except for the small snore from Dante.I turned slightly on the bed, with a face curved with a pretty smile as I stared at him.Dante was still asleep, his breath fanning my skin, hair covering his scar. I lay on the side of the bed, staring at the ruthless mafia lord, sleeping like he wasn’t a chaos. Not in my wildest imagination would I ever dream of being on the same bed with Dante. But here it was.On the same bed, after having a series of make out all night long.He groaned slowly before he finally opened his eyes. Our eyes met, and that moment I felt like the clock had stopped ticking for a second.Dante leaned closer, hands removing some strands of hair that had fallen over my face.“Good morning, amorchito,” he said in his strong Spanish accent.“Good morning, Dante,” I replied. He planted a kiss on my forehead before stepping out of bed.For some minute
Aurora’s POVThe cold air swept through my skin in the dark. My eyes squinted into the open as I walked my way into the boss’s apartment.Fortunately for me, there were no guards outside the hallway. My steps quickened with a racing heart as I made my way into his room.Grabbing the door handle, I didn’t think twice before pushing it open and only stopped walking when I was halfway in.Dante’s eyes settled on me just as he was about to thrust into Mistress Zain.Zain noticed the pause in the raw foreplay, and she traced the boss’s eyes to mine.Immediately, her face frowned, and her eyes rolled at me before she grabbed Dante by his dick.Dante yanked her hands almost immediately, his face turning all cold, and before I could blink, his hands were already wrapped around Zain’s neck.He lifted her up with just one hand, showing off her unclad body. His eyes flickered just like they did when we kissed earlier.Zain struggled to break free, hitting his hands, but his hold was too strong f
Aurora POVImmediately I stepped into the workers’ quarters, I searched around with my eyes for her.Amani, the only friend I had on the island. The quarters was always silent around this time of the day, as everyone would have retired back to bed after a stressful work at the farm.I leaned closer to Amani’s quarters, and there she was, sitting comfortably on a small stool, a bucket at her arm as she did some hand laundry.Amani didn’t notice me at first, not until she stood up to dry some of her clothes on the rope before her eyes settled on me.She stood still for minutes before dropping the clothes in the bucket and running towards me with a huge smile spreading across her face as she embraced me in a tight hug.I chuckled, wrapping my hands around her back also as we both stumbled backward.“I miss you so much,” Amani said while sobbing softly.“Such a drama queen,” I laughed.“I miss you too, friend,” I replied back. When we pulled away from the hug, Amani led me into her room.
Dante POVI shot at the center of the board repeatedly until the board tore apart. The sound of the gunshot echoed in my head each passing second, but I cared less.My mind was troubled, too occupied with her smile that invaded every space in my mind and replayed as a picture on my retina.Since the day I saved her from drowning, I hadn’t stopped thinking about her, or maybe it had started a long time ago and I had just gotten noticed.I longed to see her each day I was out for work and hurriedly wanted to come back just to see her smile and smell her scent in the room.I had blamed these whole feelings on Lucien, but deep down, I knew I felt for her just the same way Lucien did.But I had questioned myself, why? That answer, I’ve got no answer to, as Lucien had decided to keep mute every freaking time I asked. My hands pressed hard on the trigger as I released another bullet into the board again. My mind lingered on how I had kissed her softly on the bed and how she had responded alm
