ADELINA'S POV

My knees buckled, and I could not move an inch. Tossing me to the hand of death was the motivation she spoke of.

There was something wrong with this werewolf. Why was its wound not healing? Did it have anything to do with the fact that madness filled its eyes?

It looked at me like it wanted to tear me to shreds. I managed to stand up; my will to survive was still strong, and I rushed to the metal door. My hands started banging. "Please open the door." I desperately called out for help.

They didn't answer. The room was heavy with tension, my senses heightened, and I could feel the wolf was about to pounce on me.

By a slight chance, I avoided the attack on time by jumping from the door. My back crashed against the wall. A short cry escaped my lips as the pain came searing through my back.

Tears lingered in my eyes. My body was falling apart but this wasn't the time to cry. The wolf was still on me. Its murderous intent was thick in the air.

  • Trapped With The Ruthless Alpha: The Heiress Vendetta   236 - Motivation

ADELINA'S POV Maybe it was the promise that I could get my life back on track, or it was the thought of hurting Mikhail that kept me going. My training was as I expected. I didn't have a good grasp of what my abilities were or what really made me special, aside from the fact that I could travel through time and space. However, that was not what Elena was interested in. They said I could control wolves. If I could harness these strange abilities properly, I could control Mikhail's wolf, stop him from shifting. From the look of things, their victory depended on that fact. The problem was that I didn't know how to control wolves and they were running out of time. "Try to concentrate," the seer's words stepped into my mind. This was our hundredth session. We trained continually only taking breaks when I was completely famished. I drew in a deep breath, and my eyes were closed. I sat on the concrete floor with my hand placed on my thighs while I tried my be

  • Trapped With The Ruthless Alpha: The Heiress Vendetta   235 - No time

ADELINA'S POV "Her condition has nothing to do with her health. She overexerted herself last night." The seer mentioned from behind Elena. It was the second time I was meeting her. I wondered if she was a shifter or a witch. She has this eerie presence around her which always made the hair at the back of my neck stand Elena's eyes narrowed at me suspiciously before they swept to Miranda. Without a word she withdrew, bowing her head as she left. I was certain Elena related something to her through mindlink. Miranda closed the door behind her The seer approached the bed. She placed her hand on my forehead and muttered her spells before she glanced at Elena with a nod. Elena's face turned dark. The air in the room grew heavy, as her sharp gaze fell on me. The seer shrank under her terrifying aura. She was the former Lycan queen, without a doubt. Viktor's brows furrowed, and he straightened up from the wall he was leaning against. "What did you do last n

  • Trapped With The Ruthless Alpha: The Heiress Vendetta   234 - He is acting strange

ADELINA'S POV My body felt heavy, as if something was weighing me down. The warm sun rays prickled my eyes. I was forced to turn away from the window blinds while squinting my eyes. ' Is it morning already?' I wondered. I tried to move my hand, but I paused. My eyes slowly opened, and I stared at my right hand, which was being held by someone. Confused, I frowned. A groan still left my lips due to the mental exhaustion, I shifted from the hand to the person holding me. Immediately, I felt sick to the stomach the moment her face appeared before me. Viktor was asleep by my side. He sat down with her back against the headboard, and our hands locked together . He only had a pair of joggers on; his upper body was exposed, so were his tattoos, which I was familiar with and that distinct Mafia tag on his arm. Unlike his lower links, Viktor's Mafia tattoo wasn't on an obvious spot as if he was hiding it He looked a lot like Mikhail when he was asleep.

  • Trapped With The Ruthless Alpha: The Heiress Vendetta   233 - The past

ADELINA'S POV The painting was ancient, and the paints and strokes spoke of how well-preserved the momentum was. "Who is this?" My finger was pointed at the man in the middle dressed in red. He looked like someone important. The way he stood in the middle of the chaos like he was maintaining the balance. Viktor moved closer, a bit too close for me to move away from his presence. I didn't know what was going through his mind but because I chose a lesser evil didn't mean he wasn't bad. What am I saying? This bastard killed my entire family. Viktor's voice was close, his breath was almost against my skin. "When the war got too out of balance. With the humans on the losing end, they went to the temples to beg our gods." He spoke like he was revealing a sacred text to me. "Your gods?" I muttered, and a frown formed between my brows. My confusion was evident. "Maybe they felt their own gods could not do anything about the werewolves. Out of desperation they cr

  • Trapped With The Ruthless Alpha: The Heiress Vendetta   232 - The great war

ADELINA'S POV Moon child Daughter of Selena Damn, I didn't understand what they meant. It all felt like endless riddles to me. I could not sleep; my mind kept replaying what had happened earlier. There was something they weren't telling me. The old lady was a witch. She didn't explain why I was the only one who could control Mikhail's wolf. It wasn't because I was his mate; if that was the reason, Mikhail would also know, and he would have done everything within his power to keep me caged by his side. His wolf was essentially his soul. This was knowledge only Elena and Viktor knew and it was their plan all along. For me to hate Mikhail and they can use me against him. I hated this family. My family wasn't perfect but we did not plan each other's demise. If I went against Elena she would trigger that spell. My eyes felt heavy but I remained sleepless In the end, I decided to take a walk. I closed the door behind me then wrapped my hand a
