Patrick shook the wine glass in his hand. At Damon's words, he withdrew his gaze from Gloria.
He gave another command, "Inform the Alpha of the Silver Spring Pack that he must choose between Gloria and his pack. If he wants his pack intact, then Gloria must leave." "Yes." "Then, tell the werewolf university to cancel Gloria's degree. So, she can't get a decent job in human society. She'll be employed with a high school diploma." "Yes." "And," Patrick said coldly, "Send her to the werewolf prison." Damon was shocked at his words. He raised his head and said, "Alpha Patrick?" "She killed our people, so I'll send her to the werewolf prison for three years. Beta Damon, do you not agree with me?" Patrick decided to send Gloria to prison for three years. Though the evidence at this point was not enough to prove Gloria guilty, Patrick believed that she was the one who killed Gabrielle. "No, Alpha Patrick, you did the right thing. Thank you." Damon's eyes suddenly turned red, and he began to cry. "If it weren't for you, Gloria would not have been punished for what she did to Gabrielle. She is from another pack, so there's nothing I can do about her." Patrick turned to the floor-to-ceiling window. His eyes darkened as he watched Gloria disappear around the corner of the road. He clenched the wine glass with his slender fingers and gulped down the rest of the wine. "Beta Damon, I'm doing this not because Gabrielle is your sister, but because Gabrielle is the woman I love," Patrick said slowly. Gloria, drenched and tired, returned to the Silver Spring Pack. However, she failed to cross the border because they had received the order from Patrick. The Alpha of the Silver Spring Pack was afraid of Patrick. Therefore, Gloria was expelled from the Silver Spring Pack. She stood at the border and watched the patrolling werewolf guards leave. Gloria didn't get to meet her parents, Alpha and Luna of the Silver Spring Pack. Gloria would be a rogue from now on. She didn't understand why they were so scared of Patrick. Gloria laughed at herself and looked away. The border which separated her from the Silver Spring pack would be a cut-off from her old life. Gloria could not put her feelings into words. As she turned back, she was stopped by two werewolves in uniform. "Miss Carter, we suspect that you had something to do with Gabrielle's death. You need to come with us now." In the werewolf court, Gloria remained silent and listened to the Elders' discussion. Eventually, they decided to punish her. Before she was sent to the werewolf prison, Gloria saw Patrick. Patrick stood at the entrance of the werewolf council hall, waiting for her. Patrick snorted. "Gloria, now, do you regret killing Gabrielle?" Gloria shook her head and said firmly, "I didn't kill Gabrielle." Patrick walked up to Gloria slowly, and his powerful aura as the Alpha was deterring. Though Gloria was the daughter of the Alpha of the Silver Spring Pack, at the moment, she was only a rogue and could not stand such a powerful aura. She told herself not to be afraid, that she was innocent, and that she had committed no crime. She raised her delicate face fearlessly. She tried to maintain her composure, but her trembling shoulders gave her out. None of these could escape Patrick's eyes. He was surprised and wondered, 'She still wouldn't give up her dignity. What dignity? She's just a rogue now.' Soon after, Patrick understood. Gloria had always been proud. Patrick grabbed Gloria's delicate chin. "Let go of me! You're hurting me!" Patrick's hand was like a pair of tongs as if he were trying to crush her jaw. Gloria's eyes welled with bitter tears. Patrick, however, showed no mercy and snapped her jaw even harder. "Who would have thought of the evil heart hidden behind such a pretty face?" "I didn't do it!" Gloria bit her lip, and her face turned pale from the pain. "You can't just send me to prison like this. There is no proof." "Yes, I can." Patrick sneered. "Miss Carter, I hope you'll enjoy your time in the werewolf prison." Patrick let go of Gloria's chin and looked at her. "You can't do this to me. I am your mate. I am the future Luna of the Black Thorn Pack. This is the Moon Goddess' arrangement." Gloria gazed at Patrick. Her words enraged Patrick. He looked at her furiously and said, "You don't deserve to be my mate!" Gloria felt a pang in her heart. Her eyes welled with tears, but her pride would not allow her to show emotion. She continued, "This is the Moon Goddess' arrangement, and you can't change it. The pack will grow weaker if their Luna is absent for too long." "Really?" Patrick said coldly, "I, Patrick Hammond, the Alpha of the Black Thorn Wolf, reject you, Gloria Carter, as my mate." Gloria looked at Patrick in shock. She felt her heart shatter, and her wolf howling. The pain overwhelmed Gloria almost instantly. She pressed her heart and looked desperate. However, she did not reject Patrick because she didn't want the bond between them to vanish. But she would have to endure the pain of her mate's rejection. Gloria did not understand why Patrick had to reject her. Was it because of Gabrielle? But she had never hurt Gabrielle. She felt a pang of regret and heartache. "If only you had listened to me that day..."Albion had always been stubborn, never heeding anyone's advice once his mind was made up.Now, with his legs gone, how would he endure the long journey of life ahead? But Albion didn't seem to mind. He curled the corners of his lips into a faint, indifferent smile.Clarissa knew better than to argue with him further. Wiping away her tears, she turned to Luana."Luana, the Moon Goddess must have heard my prayers and returned my two loved ones to me..."Before Albion could speak, Clarissa interjected, "You just rest there. Who told you not to listen to me?"This remark drew a chuckle from Vivian. "Mr. Preston, I thought no one could rein you in. Seems these two lovely ladies are your match."Albion responded with a gentle smile. "Fortunate I am to be kept in check by them."Vivian, having learned bits and pieces about their story from Sta
Luana snapped back to reality, looked up at Dorian, and stared at him without a word.Dorian bent down, half-squatting in front of her, and glanced at her indifferently."Let me warn you, it's fine to play with Cline, but don't get serious. He's not your true love."Luana sensed there was more to his words, as if he was hinting at something. But she didn't bother to ask. Dorian wouldn't tell her anyway.Dorian didn't plan to say more. After a brief reminder, he stood up and left.Watching the luxury car speed away, Luana felt a heavy sense of relief. She knew Dorian would come back, but for now, she had a brief taste of freedom. But as soon as she thought of the three billion dollars, her body tensed again.Squatting there, lost in thought, she received a call from Clarissa, asking why she hadn't arrived yet.Luana shook off her jumbled thoughts, replied, "I'm on my way," and drove to Clarissa's villa.Clar
Dorian had planned to return to the UK regardless of the agreement. If she refused to sign, he would leave anyway. Why should she bother signing?Dorian appeared indifferent. "Suit yourself. It's not my business if it's someone else's child."His implication was clear—if she didn't sign, he wouldn't leave and would continue to restrict her freedom. Her resolve wavered. "Are you sure you won't make me do anything conscience-shocking?"Dorian's patience seemed to wear thin. "I enjoy doing conscience-shocking things. Feel free to join in if you like."Luana's face paled. She felt Dorian was too unstable. Staying with him might lead to her demise. After a moment of hesitation, she picked up the pen and signed Dorothy's name at the end of the document.Dorian shook his head. "Sign your own name."Luana was puzzled. "Since I'm acting as Dorothy, of course, I should sign her name."Dorian snorted. "Cline could help you re
That night, he held her in his arms as they lay on the sofa, doing nothing but falling asleep like a couple. The next morning, he woke up and maintained the same pose, reluctant to let her go.Recalling these moments, Luana suddenly sensed his love. But for her now, it was all too late. She put away her memories, intending to call Clarissa. Before she could dial, George called. "Miss Hammond, haven't you taken your medicine?"Luana sighed, "Dorian didn't give me the medicine for fear I'd run away."George fell silent for a few seconds, then said through gritted teeth, "I'll deal with him."Luana wanted to ask if the medicine was available domestically, but George hung up before she could.Immediately after, Clarissa called. "Luana, why was your phone off?"Last night, after leaving the nightclub in the early hours, Clarissa had seen Luana's missed call and tried to return it, only to find it off.Worried, s
Dorian cast a faint glance at Luana as she felt her way to lift the quilt. Only then did he turn and leave the bedroom. The next day, upon waking, Luana opened her eyes and, after confirming the color of the ceiling above, breathed a sigh of relief.Thankfully, her temporary blindness had subsided; otherwise, she would be forever shrouded in darkness. After getting out of bed and freshening up, she picked up her smashed phone and pressed the power button. It wouldn't turn on.She had thought only the screen was broken, but apparently, the phone was completely damaged.Recalling that her old phone supported dual SIM cards, she quickly retrieved the sealed bag, took out the phone, and inserted the new SIM card.Once the card was in place, she powered on the device and opened her messages.A flood of texts poured in.There were annual condolences from her colleague Sabrina.Others wished her peace in the afterlife, free fro
Luana fell to the ground, her pale face etched with fear and wariness.Dorian crouched down, illuminating her eyes with his phone light. Seeing no reaction, he understood."Dr. George said your eyes still have complications. You must protect them—no crying, no overexertion. Yet you never listen."He extended his slender hand to her and said indifferently, "Let's go. I'll take you home."Hearing the word "home," Luana found it bitterly ironic. "That's your home, not mine."She had no home, never had one. She thought finding her sister would mean finding a home, but this man who claimed to be her sister's man had locked her in a car, nearly suffocating her to death, for coming home late. How could she go back with him?"You bought that house for my sister. It's hers and mine," Dorian said nonchalantly. The bitterness in Luana's smile deepened. "My sister ended her life to escape you. Clearly, she didn't love you. The house and car
