Chapter 25 - Avoidance

The shock was drawn in Mitch's face as he moved back. "No! It's not your fault— I lost my temper. That's why I ended up like this. None of this is your fault." I could feel how he was getting anxious and panicky with the way he said that. But then he stopped. "How? How did you know that?"

"I heard them yesterday. Carlos and Devon. On my way to the restroom, I heard what Carlos said. That, I was the reason why you reacted like that. I don't want you to end up like this. I didn't want them to be mean to you too." I balled my fists. "Even if I look like this, I'm glad that you consider me as your friend." 

I was confused when Mitch, out of the blue, showed an ugly expression. That's when I realized that he was trying to suppress his tears. "You're so kind. I like you so much." He pulled me into a hug, and I could feel
