“Don’t even dream of it! I will never be your wife!” Karina shouted.

“Don’t be arrogant!” Tanto gripped Karina’s jaw. He chuckled. “I’ll give you one week to pay off your mother’s debt. If not, the amount will double.”

“You can’t run away from me. I’ll always find you.” Tanto and his men laughed. “Don’t act like you’re too good. Think it over. I’ll forget your mother’s debt if you agree to be my fifth wife. Your life will be easy.”

The loan shark left. Karina’s body slid down in front of the door. Where could she possibly get 300 million rupiah in just two weeks?

~~

“Karina.”

Saka growled in anger as he stared at Karina, who sat frozen like a statue. During the meeting—Karina was spacing out.

“KARINA!” he yelled, furious at her silence.

Karina quickly turned to him, straightening her notes. “I’m sorry, Sir.” She bowed her head and sighed.

“Why aren’t you doing your job properly?” Saka asked, stepping toward her. “I’m not paying you to daydream,” he said sarcastically.

Karina lowered her head. “I’m sorry,” she whispered.

“Do you want to quit?” Saka raised an eyebrow.

Karina shook her head. She truly hadn’t meant to be so distracted at work. She tried to focus, but her thoughts kept wandering.

Her mind was working overtime to find a way out. She’d tried borrowing money everywhere.

All her friends had turned her down.

Even Amel and Susan, who lived luxuriously, didn’t trust her enough to lend money.

Karina had also tried the bank, but without any collateral, they rejected her request.

Suddenly, Saka trapped Karina with both hands gripping the edges of the desk, cornering her.

“I’m not a good man. I don’t tolerate repeated mistakes.”

Karina clutched her papers. She didn’t dare look at Saka, who now looked furious.

“Do you know what happens if I fire you?” he asked. Karina slowly shook her head. “I’ll make sure no other company hires you. Your name will be blacklisted.”

“That’s unfair, Sir.” Karina closed her eyes. “That’s too cruel.” She sighed.

Saka chuckled softly. “It is cruel. And if I decide to do it, no one can stop me.” He gently stroked her cheek, then patted her head. “Do your job properly. Don’t mess with me.”

~~

Two weeks passed. Karina had only managed to gather 20 million rupiah. It was all her savings and what she managed to borrow from the cooperative. She would pay that first and ask for leniency to pay the rest in installments.

Karina opened the door. “I only have this 20 million.” She handed over the money.

“Are you kidding me?!” Tanto yelled in her face. “The debt is 300 million! Not 20 million! How dare you!”

“Please, I don’t have any more money. I just need a little more time.” Karina clasped her hands together in desperation.

Suddenly, Tanto yanked her hair hard, forcing her to tilt her head up. “I’ve been patient long enough. If you had agreed to be my wife, you wouldn’t have to go through all this trouble. But too bad—I don’t offer the same deal twice.”

Karina grabbed his hand. It hurt—her hair must’ve been falling out. “Let me go!” Karina stomped on his foot.

“Agh!” Tanto let go of her hair, but then slapped her several times in retaliation. “Ungrateful wench! Your slut mother begged me for a loan and then ran off. And you, her daughter, are just as shameless!”

SLAP!

The final slap knocked Karina to the floor. The corner of her lip tore, bleeding slightly. “You have two days. If you don’t bring me the full 300 million, I’ll sell you to a brothel.”

That night, the wind blew violently.

Karina brought instant noodles and soda to the riverside. She looked up at the large bridge stretching across the wide river. She smiled—such a beautiful bridge, lit with colorful lights. The road was never empty. So many cars passed by.

“What kind of lives do they lead?” she wondered. “They have nice cars. They must have good jobs too.” She laughed bitterly, mocking her own misery.

She ate her noodles slowly. “And I’m stuck here with endless suffering.” Once finished, she drank the soda in one gulp.

Karina stood up. “I can’t do this anymore. I have to go. I can’t survive in this hell any longer.” She looked at the bright sky. “Turn cloudy, will you?”

She walked across the guardrail separating the road and the river. The night was so dark. There was no one else around—just her. Karina was about to end her life quickly.

She stepped closer. Her feet touched the edge of the river. She walked further in. It was cold—half of her body was already underwater. “I’m sorry, Dad. I want to be with you. I can’t do this anymore. I’m weak without you.”

Karina submerged herself completely. Her body fell into the river. She closed her eyes. Her breathing grew shallow. She couldn’t breathe.

Everything went dark.

~~

“Take me home,” Saka ordered his driver. He sat calmly, staring out the window.

That night, he had just finished a meeting with a client. He was furious that Karina hadn’t answered his calls. It was her job to prepare everything for him and accompany him to meetings.

But she hadn’t even shown up all day. According to their agreement, even on holidays, Karina had to be available when he needed her.

“Damn it,” Saka muttered. He planned to scold Karina tomorrow.

“Wait. Stop the car.” Saka noticed a woman sitting by the riverbank. “That’s Karina.” He scoffed. “So she’s having a picnic at the river while ignoring her boss’s calls?”

“Go over there.” He pointed toward where Karina was sitting. “I’ll teach her a lesson for ignoring me.”

The car drove and stopped near an empty park. Saka got out and walked toward the far end of the path, near the river.

“What the hell is she doing?” Saka frowned as he saw Karina walking into the river.

“KARINA!” he shouted.

**SPLASH!**

Too late. Karina was already fully submerged.

“KARINA, I WON’T LET YOU DIE!” Saka screamed.

Without hesitation, he dove into the river, his body plunging into the cold water. He saw Karina beneath the surface, her eyes closed.

Maybe this time Amel volunteered to be in this car. She sighed—it really wasn't good to be near Hardin. Especially in this car. They had hot memories in this car.“Is your relationship going smoothly with Daniel?”Amel looked out the window. “Yes. He is kind, handsome, rich and understanding, he is also good at cooking. But—”Hardin turned his head. Actually, he was annoyed with Amel, who seemed to really praise Daniel.“But he dated a bitch like me.” Amel laughed softly. “I lied to him many times. Hiding the fact that I was still always in touch with you.” Amel rubbed her face roughly. “I should have just told him. So that my guilt would go away.”“You’re not a b@tch.” Hardin was still focused on driving. “You’re not that kind of woman. Don’t think less of yourself.”“Really?” Amel turned her head. “Then what is it called a woman who is already in a relationship but is still in touch with her ex. That woman also plays dirty with her ex. Moreover, her ex has a fiancé who will soon be

“He’s fine. Why should I worry.” Amel walked—passing the bench Hardin was sitting on just like that. “Are you just going to leave?” Hardin stood up. He followed Amel from behind. “After I help you, are you just going to leave?” Amel stopped. She combed her hair tiredly. “I never asked you to help me.” She turned around. “You are no different from that man. You always follow me.” Hardin snickered. “If I wasn’t here, that guy could have hurt you. And you’d be putting not only yourself but your friend in danger too.” “Fine.” Amel looked up. “What do you want?” “Help me treat this wound.” Hardin winced softly as he spoke louder. His lip was completely torn from the man’s punch. “You could have gone straight to the hospital. But instead you asked me for help.” Amel raised one of her eyebrows in surprise. ~~ In front of a minimarket. With a pack of cleaning fluid and medicine. “What are you doing here?” Amel wanted to scream when she found out who had pulled her into hiding.“You followed me?” he accused Hardin. Amel sighed in frustration. “You’re really too much.”“Shut up.” Hardin put his index finger on Amel’s lips. “Look at her—you recorded her actions.”There—he was in front of Ela's door. There was a man still trying to bang on the door. Because he was not given access—the man seemed to take out a tool. With that tool he was finally able to open the door.“WHAT DO YOU WANT? STOP DISTURBING ME!” Ela shouted from inside the house.“Let go of me!” Ela screamed as the man pulled her out.Amel wanted to help Ela. But Hardin stopped her and said, “Call the police.”“But he—”“I’ll be there.”Before she could reply, Hardin left Amel in the same place. Amel immediately pressed 911. “There’s a stalker who broke into a woman’s house.”After explaining Ela's home address, he immediately hung up the call and ran after her.“Let her go.” Hardin stopped Ela who was

Hardin punched the wall beside Amel. “No way. You’ve already made me crazy. You’re really playing with me Amel—” Hardin lifted Amel’s chin to look at him. “I wanted to be with you again. I tried to chase you. But you didn’t care at all. You didn’t reject my touch, but after that you never did anything. You left—you avoided me. You were like a cheap woman.” Amel immediately laughed. “If I’m cheap, what do you call yourself?” Amel pointed at Hardin’s chest. “You left me. You left when I really loved you. After that, you ended up having a relationship with my cousin. Can you imagine how devastated I was at that time?” Amel shook her head. “No. You came to my big family event with Ashley. You even made love in the toilet of my grandparents’ house!” “Hello Hardin! You don't open your eyes and instead blame me!” Hardin held Amel's shoulder. "I'm sorry about that. I really didn't mean to do it. I thought you'd be okay. I also did it because I had to." Amel with her hateful gaze stared

She quickly wiped her messy lipstick. “I’m crazy!” then immediately ran into the office.Sure enough—the employee was already sitting on the bench and doing his job. He walked carefully. Hopefully no one would see him late. After he was on his bench—he saw that there were already many piles of papers.Okay, there will be a lot of work today.“Today is the weekly meeting. Don’t forget!” was a note that appeared on her phone’s notification. That’s right—today was the weekly meeting. But Amel shouldn’t have come. She was just an intern. There was no way she would be invited to a company meeting that could be considered quite secret. But her guess was wrong. A few hours later. Sarah pulled her into the meeting room. Together with the heads of divisions. On the other hand, Amel really didn't understand why Sarah liked her so much. With Sarah's attitude like this, it made him even more tortured. If only the FA leader wasn't Hardin. He would have happily joined the company event. The problem

“If I let go? Will I change? No, right? I’m still Amel.” Amel took Daniel’s hand. She directed it to her waist. “Touch me.” Daniel shook his head. "No. I can't do that." He withdrew his hand which was originally on Amel's waist. Then held the woman's hand. "Let's sleep." Arrive at the room. Amel was silent - looking at Daniel who opened the blanket. She came to the conclusion that the man would not sleep with her in this room. “Brother Daniel sleep here.” Amel lay down her body. “Sleep here, with me.” Patting the empty side of the bed. “Amel—” Daniel sighed. Amel who acted so distantly made Daniel desperately restrain himself. “Don’t be like this.” “Why?” Amel frowned. “It would be a lie if I didn’t want Brother Daniel to touch me. I also want to do it with someone I like. But I know—Brother Daniel is a man of principle. I won’t force him.” Amel looked at Daniel. “But for tonight—sleep next to me. I don’t want to sleep alone, bro. I’ve been so lonely lately.” "Okay." Daniel fi
