Far to the south, in a cavern lit by firelight, Cain’s roar shook the stone walls. His fists slammed into rock, leaving cracks and dust raining down.

“The Shadowthorn Pack is gone?” His voice was low, lethal.

The messenger dropped to his knees, trembling. “Y-Yes, Alpha. The Alpha King took it. He renamed it the Bloodrise Pack… his territory now.”

Cain’s nostrils flared. “And my daughter?”

The silence stretched.

“She’s… alive,” the warrior stammered. “But the Alpha King spared the pack only because Lady Althea offered herself. She begged him to take her life in exchange for the others. They say… she is now his breeder.”

CRACK! Stone shattered beneath Cain’s fist, shards scattering across the cavern floor. His breath came in ragged bursts, fury shaking his frame.

“A breeder?” His voice thundered. “That bastard dares use my daughter to shame me?”

“She saved them all,” the messenger whispered, trembling.

Rett, Cain’s eldest son, voice broke through, sharp with grief. “Then why was Mother k

Gavriel’s jaw tightened. His grip on Althea’s waist didn’t loosen, but his eyes stayed locked on Zander’s projection. The silence stretched until even the steady glow of the shard seemed to dim. Finally, Gavriel exhaled slowly. “Fine,” he said. His voice was calm, but it carried the weight of a decision he didn’t want to make. “We’ll come.”Uriel’s eyes widened. “Your Majesty—”“It’s not up for debate,” Gavriel curtly added without looking back. “If my mate is involved, then I go. And if I go, they all go.”Zander raised his brows in amusement. “All? Including the princess of Terravane?” He glanced toward Candice.Candice rolled her eyes with a sharp huff. “If I don’t go with them, they’ll probably say something stupid without me. Besides, I should come. I have a feeling whatever it is you want… it involves the Velmora continent.”Zander’s eyebrow lifted, his smirk stretching into something amused and almost predatory. “Aren’t you interesting. I’ve heard Terravane has a stubborn, unor

  • Trapped with the Alpha King   186: Come Here

There was silence in the room, broken only by the faint glow pulsing from the shard. Althea focused, channeling her energy into it just as her mother had taught her when she was young. She felt grateful that those memories were still so clear — every gesture, every whispered instruction.Moments later, the Luminis Shard responded. A gentle wave rippled through her, like the shard itself had a heartbeat, a pulse that echoed inside her chest. That was the sign. She had reached him. With a steady breath, Althea carefully placed the softly glowing shard on the table.A breath later, Zander’s figure formed in front of them, his brows lifting the moment he saw their position. “Seriously,” he muttered.Althea’s face turned a deep shade of red. She tried to slide off Gavriel’s lap, but his arm tightened around her waist before she could even shift an inch.“Gavriel,” she whispered, her eyes wide as she subtly gestured for him to let her go.He didn’t. Instead, Gavriel remained firmly seated,

Candice stood a few steps inside the chamber, her hands clasped in front of her as if she needed to keep herself from shaking. Althea could feel Gavriel’s arm still locked around her waist, as if even this moment required him to keep her close.Candice took a deep breath before she continued, “My father explained that the Luminis Shard is not just a relic. It is a living magical core. And, as I said, it cannot be fully controlled by just anyone, aside from the House of Aetherion. He confirmed to me that the only clan capable of drawing out its full potential is the Ivanov Clan.”Althea blinked. “Ivanov… Clan?”Candice nodded with certainty. “Yes. The Ivanovs were one of the oldest magical bloodlines on the Velmora Continent and they were believed to have the closest ties with the heavens. It is said they were gifted with the ability to bind light energy to the physical world. Only they could wield the Luminis Shard in its original form. Anyone else would be able to use only a fraction

Gavriel was still breathing hard, muscles tense, trying to steady himself as she slowly released him. But Althea didn’t move away. She stayed on her knees between his thighs, her hands resting lightly on them, eyes locked with his in a way that made heat coil low in his stomach again. He brushed his thumb across her swollen lower lip, wiping a faint trace of him there. The soft smear made his jaw clench all over again.“You’re going to be the death of me,” he muttered, voice rough and deep.Althea only smiled faintly, leaning in to kiss the inside of his thigh. The small touch made his entire body tighten. He let out a shaky exhale as she trailed soft kisses upward, her lips warm against the sensitive skin.“Althea…” he warned, though it sounded more like a plea than a real warning. She rose slowly from her knees, her hands sliding up his stomach and chest as she stood. Gavriel followed every inch of her movement with hungry eyes. When she reached his face, he grabbed her waist and p

  • Trapped with the Alpha King   183: Swallowing

Gavriel’s mind was a storm. His emotions were scattered everywhere, crashing into each other until he could barely think straight. He had already put up several walls through their matebond so Althea wouldn’t feel how chaotic he truly was. He hated that he had to hide it from her, but he couldn’t let his panic weigh on her already fragile state.Riela was taken. Althea’s life was now at risk. And worst of all—he was helpless. It was the first time he had ever felt something like this, a crushing fear he couldn’t fight with claws or strength.‘Is there nothing we can do?!’ he demanded at his lycan Chaos despite already knowing his answer.‘There is,’ Chaos replied, voice steady, ‘but I need time. My full strength only awakens when the redmoon rises. We have to wait. Be patient. And follow our mate’s plan. No matter what happens… we’ll take her back.’Gavriel clenched his jaw, torn between fury and fear, holding Althea tightly against him as if she might slip away any second. He wanted

Althea felt terrified, but Gavriel’s arms around her were enough to steady her. His warmth always had a way of calming the storm inside her, even now when everything felt uncertain.“Did you eat dinner already?” Gavriel asked quietly.“Not yet,” she murmured, still leaning against his chest.“I’ll have the cook prepare something. I’ll eat with you.” He gently guided her face up, wanting to see her eyes.“Even if the bond gets severed, I’ll still feel the same way,” he said. “It isn’t the matebond keeping me with you. It’s us, Althea. Our hearts.”She nodded, a soft smile forming. She believed that too.“But Zander will use my life against you,” she admitted. “We don’t know what he wants… or why he wants me. And if Candice is right, then maybe Zander and I are connected somehow.” Her hand moved to the key hanging from her necklace. “He knows about this. And I think… he knew my mother.”Her throat tightened. “Gavriel… if he heals your sister completely, the covenant of binding will star
