Chapter 3

I strode into the banquet hall in the hotel. Esther thought that I'd given in and hurried after me.

"It's fine if you don't want to get down on your knees to beg. Just go in and help Ray ward off the old hags harassing him. He'll just assume that you're an usher I hired to chase them off, and he'll naturally stop believing in those rumors about you afterward."

The moment I stepped in, an old lady with a rotund figure immediately locked her gaze onto me.

Eugene whispered something in her ear, and she began staring suggestively at my crotch and butt, nodding in extreme satisfaction.

"I see that Mr. Ray Atkinson has found himself a good and capable wife after all."

I glared fiercely at the old woman, warning her to stay away. She was immediately intimidated by my aura and didn't dare to come forward anymore.

Esther's face darkened at once. "Everyone already knows what you do! Why the hell are you still acting so pretentiously? You're only going to make them all look down on you if you keep this up!"

She got the bodyguards to grab me and handed a wine glass to the old hag.

"I gave you the chance to be my secret lover, Nicholas, but you were the one who didn't jump on the opportunity. You insisted on lying to me, so this is what you deserve!

"You're either going to be good and act like a proper bait, or I'm going to force all the alcohol down your throat until you burst from it. Your choice."

My eyes turned cold and icy.

"You're asking me to act like bait for an impostor? Aren't you worried that he's going to get his comeuppance later on?"

Esther began yelling at me again for my arrogance, and she then gave the old hag a look. The old hag immediately grabbed me by the chin to force the alcohol down my throat.

Just as she was about to pour it in, I kicked her in the stomach and licked away the bit of alcohol spilled on my lips.

"You don't deserve to marry into the Warner family and be my wife at all, Esther Howard! I'm calling off the engagement with you! Give me back my family heirloom!"

The commotion attracted quite a few eyeballs from the guests around us. They broke into laughter and sneered, "Did the gigolo just say that he was engaged to Ms. Howard? What a joke!"

"Ms. Howard was the one who made the Howard family the tycoons they are today! Even the Prince of Cantonia fell for her at first sight! Who is this gigolo to think that she would ever fall for someone like him?"

"Don't tell me that he probably gave her some junk and is now trying to extort her or something?"

The guests continued gossiping among themselves, as if Esther was a victim suffering from a great injustice just because she had anything to do with me.

I glared at Esther's neck, beckoning for her to return the sapphire necklace she was wearing to me. That was a family heirloom from my grandma.

"This is nothing but a counterfeit anyway. Did you really think I wanted to keep it in the first place? I was already doing you a huge favor by even holding on to it at all!"

She then tore it off her neck and flung it to the ground. The necklace chipped as it came into contact with the hard floor and couldn't be restored to how it used to be anymore.

I tore free from the bodyguards like a maniac and rushed over to pick the precious jewelry off the floor.

"You're finished, Esther Howard! This is a family heirloom from the Warner family!"

Ray Atkinson then walked over to Esther and pulled her into his embrace.

"I think you're the one who needs to get your brain checked. I am the true young master of the Warner family! How dare you steal my identity!" Ray exclaimed. "First, you harassed my wife, and then, you claimed to be me. I'm going to have to teach you a proper lesson. If not, you're only going to continue causing even more trouble for others next time!"

He then gave the old hag from earlier a sarcastic look.

"He's all yours. Do whatever you want with him. I'll clean up after the mess afterward. He's used to taking all sorts of toys in his ass anyway, since that's what he does all the time. He knows how to serve and please his clients well."

The group of bodyguards surrounded me and began inching toward me.

These people were so dumb that I nearly burst out in laughter.

"As the true young master of the Warner family, I've been trained in kickboxing since I was young. Did you really think that a few measly bodyguards could take me down that easily?"

I was just about to fight back when my vision suddenly dipped to black, and I lost my sense of balance. I glanced briefly at the glass of alcohol that the old hag had tried to pour down my throat earlier. She'd actually tried to drug me!

Nobody had ever dared to do such things to me since I was born.

I was completely disappointed in Esther by that point and decided to call my bodyguards over. But I'd only just taken my phone out when Ray slapped it away from my hands.

"You're just a fucking disgusting gigolo who knows nothing other than spreading your legs for your clients! Who do you think you're trying to call? And who the hell knows whether you're plagued with all sorts of STDs after having slept with so many people for so long?

"Stop causing trouble for other people for once! Guards, strip him and check him for any STDs!"

It was getting harder and harder for me to breathe.

"I am the true young master of the Warner family! I dare you to lay a finger on me!"

Esther's gaze flickered.

"Shut up! How dare you still try to lie through your teeth even with the real young master standing in front of you! Are you trying to get yourself killed?

"No wonder you never lay a finger on me even once during the three years we were together! You said that it was because you respected me, but it was really because you were laden with a cocktail of STDs, wasn't it? And you just didn't want me to find out about it!"

She then coldly instructed the bodyguards to strip me. My limbs gave out just then, and the bodyguards quickly pinned me against the table.

My phone suddenly rang loudly. Ray glanced at the caller ID.

"Colette Diaz?

"Colette is the literal Princess of Cantonia, and she comes from a wealthy and powerful family that's only second to the Warners! I'm sure that she cherishes her purity and would never be associated with the likes of you!

"You're worse than a gigolo. You're just a fucking moron who just gives his ass out for free!"

Ray then got everyone to quieten down and answered the call, meaning to humiliate me more.

Colette's flirtatious voice immediately sounded on the other end of the line.

"Hey, Young Master. I can't wait to meet the woman who ostensibly won against me, so I flew over straight in a helicopter. She'd better be eons better than me, or I swear I'm going to crash your wedding and steal you away myself."

Esther's eyes blazed with jealousy as she snatched the phone away.

"What the hell are you talking about? Ray Atkinson is the real Young Master of the Warner family! And Nicholas is about to be stripped naked in public! He deserves only to continue living as the lowliest sewer rat in society!

"You're not Colette Diaz either! You're just another impostor, just like Nicholas! So stop it with that stupid fake act of yours!"

Colette's voice turned anxious and worried.

"What did you say you were about to do to him? I'm warning you, you're not going to be able to face the consequences if you dare to lay a finger on him! I'll give you whatever you want!"

The guests around us burst into loud laughter upon hearing that.

"The real Colette Diaz would have instantly recognized Mr. Ray Atkinson as the young master of the Warner family! After all, he's the one wealthy enough to give Ms. Howard a generous wedding gift of one billion dollars!

"Who did these people think they were, acting all high-and-mighty just because they thought they had a bit of money? She's just as embarrassing as that fake-ass impostor gigolo! And if they end up being the real deal, I'll eat my own shit on a livestream!"

I looked around the room, watching the people around me like their death sentence had just arrived. Colette was known to be ruthless and merciless, and yet, they still dared to go against her.

It seemed like they were really eager to meet their own demise.

Esther didn't care for Colette's warning.

"I'm just doing you a favor by giving you some advice, and this is how you answer me? Why are you still acting when I've already seen through your pretense?

"Fine! I want 100 million dollars in cash right now! You'd better get them delivered in ten minutes or less. You're the great and mighty Colette Diaz, aren't you? Surely that's just loose change for you?"

As soon as the words were out of her mouth, the entire hotel building suddenly shook as though it had been struck by an earthquake.

A helicopter had just crashed right through the main entrance.

Amidst the smoking debris, a loud, aggressive, and furious female voice rang out.

"I'm here, but I guess you won't even dare to take the money from me at all!"
