Chapter 6

Alicia pov

I opened my eyes again only to see that I was laying on a bed in a very bright room. I turned sideways and saw the blue curtain. I groaned in annoyance.

“Oh. I was taken to the school clinic, and I am more than sure of it.”

I tried my best to sit up only to see the curtain flung open as my stepbrothers all rushed in at once, while my teacher slowly walked behind them, and of course, a few other students were peeping around. Clearly, they wanted to know what exactly happened to me.

I looked at them as they rushed towards me, mostly Alexander, as he had a very concerned stare.

“Are you alright?Hope you don't feel any pain anymore?”

he questioned as I smiled faintly and then sat up, with his help.

They all stared at me in concern, clearly wanting me to say a thing or two, but I still stayed silent until the nurse walked in and was surprised to see all of them around me.

“Wow. Do you... guys really have to gather around like she was dying? She's actually not dying.”

she said to me, then to them sarcastically as they laughed.

“Oh, you don't understand. We have to take good care of her. She's our sister and she's all that matters to us at the moment.”

they said to her as she murmured to herself.

“This is the first time I am hearing a word like this,”

but I did not bother to reply as I pressed my belly gently, still feeling a bit of pain, but I had to hold it in or else the whole school might just complain that my stepbrothers care only about me.

I looked at the nurse and she brought out her templates and went through some things before marking some items whilst muttering to herself.

I just sat there waiting patiently for her to give me her response.

“There is nothing much happening to you. You just had a little food poisoning and your body overreacted to it. Just be careful with the kind of things you take. And of course, I am taking this result to the cafeteria. The principal has to do something about it before somebody else falls into the same trap.”

she said, and then I smiled at her.

“Thank you so much, nurse. Thank you for attending to me.”

I muttered as she nodded and then walked away.

My stepbrothers were still there, and of course, I was getting all choked up, but I knew that Alexander wasn't going to let it go so easily.

So instead, he cleared his throat and sat beside me before looking at my other brothers.

“You two can actually excuse us for a while. I have something important to talk about. We actually talked about something crucial before all these things happened.”

he said as they looked at him angrily before walking away.

Now it was just me and Alexander. I was waiting to see what he wanted to do.

Before I could even utter a word or even blink twice, he had already smacked his lips on mine, kissing me passionately as I pushed him away.

“I'm sick.”

I mouthed as he smiled at me, then caressed my head gently.

“You are sick, and that is my own way of telling you I care. You almost gave me a heart attack. You should be careful. Come on, you won't kill me one day, would you? Right? Please be careful, mostly when it comes to a situation like this. You can't give me a headache out of nowhere. I beg you.”

he said to me as I nodded, feeling a bit ashamed of myself.

I couldn't even believe I was able to eat food that caused food poisoning without even noticing a slight difference in my food's taste. I was just so dumb.

My attention was just fixed on my dilemma of being a mate to three stepbrothers.

“Alicia, what else are you thinking about?” Alexander muttered to me as I was instantly brought back to reality.

I chuckled at him and then just sat up even much more as he tried to assist me.

I raised my hand quickly and stopped him.

“Stop what you're doing. Don’t try to act like you're the only one who cares about me. You might be my stepbrother, but there are also the two others, and just as much as you are trying to claim me as yours, they are also my mates. So you don’t have the right to just jump on me and cling to me while pushing them out. Do you even know that they are waiting to also talk to me to know how I am feeling? Don’t just act like you own me,” I said to him as he laughed.

“Really? You really think I'm acting like I own you? I am not acting like that. I know you belong to me. I just need to take care of what is mine. Don’t you understand? It might not matter to them. You matter to me like crazy,” he said as I laughed.

“Please stop it, Alexander. I won’t take this next time if you act this way,” I said to him sarcastically as he did not respond.

Just then Arnold walked in, and he had a frown on his face.

“Come on, Alex, you don’t want to stay in there forever with her, right? We also need a chance to talk to her too. And besides, I am damn worried,” he muttered and quickly rushed towards me to hug me, but I quickly dodged.

“Stop. Don’t hug me. And thank you guys for being worried about me. You don’t have to care so much. Besides, I would not be in this situation or be in this kind of trouble if not for your ex, Alex,” I said to him and then stood up as I picked up my phone on the counter not too far from my bed.

And yet they were still behind me. I could feel that every step was following me, but they were silent.

Why was I stuck in a situation like this? Why would my three stepbrothers be my mates? Why is the moon goddess playing such a prank on me?

I tried my best to avert them and not make them follow me, and after several troubles, I was able to escape them by rushing into the lab.

I held my chest tightly, feeling like I had run away from my worst enemies. Of course, they were slowly becoming more like my worst enemy.

I was just about to walk out of the lab room after confirming that they were no longer in search of me when I noticed someone was also coming into the lab room.

I ran quickly and hid beneath one of the desks in a way that it would not show even if they walked closer.

Just then, I could feel two female heels walking in as,

Whoever it was threw her book on the table aggressively.

“Can you believe this? She is still perfectly alright,” I heard, and instantly I was able to recognize the voice.

It was Claudia.

“I don’t understand. Why would she even escape that food poisoning?” I heard another female.

I covered my mouth instantly.

They planned this. They actually planned to poison me. Just my second day in school.
