We had a problem. Izzy’s kindhearted comment to the retreating warriors was meant as a reminder to them that there were still good places left in this world, but two enemy warriors decided to take her up on her offer.

Normally that wouldn’t be an issue.

But they were Alpha Leo’s kids.

Alpha Leo was the Alpha of the Blood Moon Pack. And he was slightly deranged. I’ve always felt sorry for anyone who was from that Pack, simply because I had heard that he was very old fashioned, running his pack with slaves and oppressing his pack members. The Council didn’t intervene, primarily because there were no complaints from the Pack. Wolves were too afraid.

But now we had two that were from the Blood Moon Pack, wanting to become part of our pack. I didn’t think for a moment that this could possibly be a trap from Alpha Leo. It was way too sophisticated, and he was not a smart man. He was also incredibly hated. I just didn’t realize his kids hated him, too.
