SEVENTEEN!!... ISABELLA

One thing about big houses, that can be annoying, is the echoes.

Such as the echoes my footsteps were making as I made my way to the kitchen. And once again I had to wonder what the point was.

It was barely seven, but I woke up very early and also famished, so I'm gonna have breakfast, and finally finish reading Born in ice.

I swallowed hard, the sight striking me like a blow to the chest. My fingers tightened around the book in my hand, and I cleared my throat.

They both jumped and turned to me, with wide eyes.

“Hannah?” He whispered, releasing her sharply.

At least he had the decency to look guilty.

“Morning,” I greeted, thankful that my voice came out steadier than I felt.
