At the central police station, inside one of the cells, Dede was sitting on a bed hugging her legs. When she left her country for this foreign land, this was not at all what she had anticipated. In her mind, she was thinking, she would get an agency to sign her up as a supermodel and she would live her dreams. It is like all the things people said back in her country were fairytales. Life in a foreign land was as difficult as living in her own country if you didn't meet or have the needful. Dede lowered her head. Now more than ever she wants to go back to her birth country. It has been one thing after the other since she arrived and yet nowhere close to having her dreams fulfilled.

"Mum, Dad, I don't know you but I know you do. Why did you bring me into this world to suffer like this?" Dede cried out loud.

"They didn't," came a female voice.

"What?" Dede reacted turning to see a female officer standing close to her cell.
