Chapter 217

Author: Lightmoon
Before Marisol could refuse, Nick added, "We're still close friends, aren't we?"

Marisol fell silent at his words.

Over dinner, they chatted about the sights and stories Nick had experienced abroad. As the meal drew to a close, Marisol couldn't resist bringing up the matter in the hospital.

Nick had indeed looked into it.

His hospital contact had informed him that Lucian was tougher than a bull. Despite his injured head, he was up and energetic the next day. It was likely he'd be discharged in no time.

But when Marisol inquired, Nick adjusted his glasses with a gentle smile and explained, "He's out of the emergency room, but his condition doesn't seem great. I've asked my friend to keep watch and update me if anything changes."

Marisol felt a knot of unease in her chest. Distracted, she excused herself after dinner and returned to the guest room.

Later that night, Nick was working in his study when a knock sounded at the door.

"Come in," he said.

Elliot entered and h

  • Turning Heads After Divorce   Chapter 517

In Sienna's opinion, it was because Orion had always been coddled that he had become so fragile. It was better to shatter that weak core completely. Either he rebuilt himself stronger, or he didn't. If he didn't, then so be it. She would find another way.At this thought, Sienna exhaled a puff of smoke and couldn't help but laugh. "I think Andre's pretty great. He's already showing some of Lucian's ruthlessness at such a young age... Want to trade?" Zayne glanced at the woman in front of him, turned around, got in his car, and drove away. Sienna shrugged. It had only been a few years, yet everyone had become so humorless. Still, she felt a bit envious of Marisol for having such an excellent child who was ruthless enough. She liked that. Too bad that woman clearly wasn't the type to nurture a child's strengths and advantages. She thought Andre's nature was obviously being suppressed. He wasn't quite as vicious as Lucian had been in his youth, but he was close enough. She wondere

At the school gate, Andre exploded. "Mr. Burnett, why did you stop me? Orion is a liar... He tricked me! He and Mom even..."His voice broke off in fury. Zayne said calmly, "Mr. Andre, I told you before there were times you could act without restraint, but not this time."Andre asked incredulously. "Why not? Mr. Burnett, are you protecting him?" His voice was loud, practically roaring now. All the people coming and going at the school entrance turned to stare. Zayne had no interest in being a spectacle, so he dragged the angry, struggling child into the car, closed the doors, and rolled up the windows. Then, he calmly said, "Mr Andre, Mrs. Muller is still here. Do you want to alarm her again because of a fight?"That one sentence calmed Andre right down. He gritted his teeth and grumbled furiously, "But I can't stand him! He actually dares to show up in front of me when I haven't even forgiven him for what happened before!""Don't rush." Zayne smoothed the boy's soft hair an

Holding the jewel-encrusted wedding dress that sparkled under the lights, Marisol had to admit that Emilia's craftsmanship was still exceptional. Yet, her expression remained calm as she placed it back in the box.She sealed the box again. After turning off the collection room lights, she headed back to her bedroom to rest....Marisol had gone to bed late. Since she hadn't been busy with company matters lately, she allowed herself a rare sleep-in. However, she was woken up by her phone ringing in the early morning. She answered groggily. "Mom, why didn't you come home this weekend? I have school today. Aren't you going to drop me off?" Andre's chattering voice came through."I..." she started to respond, but her voice came out hoarse when she opened her mouth. "Mom, are you sick?" Andre immediately caught on."Yeah, my throat's bothering me." Though speaking was still uncomfortable, she could manage to talk now, so she briefly explained and said she couldn't drop him off fo

Marisol had previously worried that people staying cooped up at home all the time would go stir-crazy, so she'd thought about occasionally taking Elizabeth out for some fun. However, because Keane kept such a tight watch on her, she could never manage to bring her out.The idea had never been realized, but now she wanted to try again. She couldn't let Julius get close, but she still wanted to fulfill his wish to see Elizabeth once. It definitely wouldn't work at the Muller family residence, so it would have to be somewhere outside. If they really wouldn't agree, there was nothing she could do about it. Marisol could only try. After putting away the medicine bottle, she went back upstairs to her studio to continue working on her designs. Then, she sent Mitchell a message to set up a meeting time. It would be a perfect time to bring the perfume along too. After getting his reply, she finally settled down to focus on her design sketches. By the time darkness fell outside her win

Marisol also had her own suspicions about Julius' background. Nothing had ever been proven, but the thought had crossed her mind. Plus, Julius didn't show a single trace of mixed heritage.Nonetheless, she had kept those doubts buried deep inside. No matter the truth of his parentage, Elizabeth's current condition made it impossible to reveal such things. If she suddenly learned she had two children, the shock alone could break her. How could Marisol ever risk letting them meet? The silence stretched between them."Marisol, Mom's health isn't good, is it?" Julius raised his head and spoke in a calm voice. The streaks of tears still marked his face."At this point, there was no use hiding anything. Marisol could only nod and say reluctantly, "She doesn't really recognize people anymore."Seeing her would be pointless. It would only bring more heartache."I just want to see her, Marisol. I haven't seen Mom in such a long time." Julius still hadn't changed his mind. On the contr

On the dining room table sat a large pot filled to the brim with oxtails. Marisol, wearing a cozy knitted sweater dress with her dark hair casually pinned up, held a bowl of oxtail soup. She frowned with every sip, yet her face still showed satisfaction.Julius couldn't help thinking, "Looks like Marisol's craving kicked in again. Even with a sore throat that won't let her eat solid food, she still has to have her soup. She's so adorable!" His blank expression softened at that thought, and he unconsciously took a step forward."Hey, you're back?" Marisol spotted him and spoke before wincing in pain. Then, she quickly shut her mouth with a groan. She grabbed her phone and typed a line into her smart home speaker.A loud robotic voice echoed through the living room. "Why are you back so late? Where have you been? I made some oxtail soup. Come dig in."The voice was so loud that it could be heard clearly from the neighboring dining room. Marisol looked quite pleased as she typed ano
