Chapter 456

Author: Lightmoon
It was April 5th. After handling group affairs and before visiting Elizabeth at the Muller family residence, Marisol first made a trip to the cemetery.

Dark clouds hung overhead. Not bringing anyone with her, she got out of the car and entered the cemetery alone.

She placed a bouquet of white flowers in front of the headstone, stood in silence for a moment, then bent down to wipe the dust off the black and white photograph on the tombstone. Looking at the man with cunning, fox-like eyes, her expression remained completely calm.

"I'm a day late."

Yesterday was Remembrance Bloom, and she hadn't come. She'd deliberately waited an extra day.

She spoke softly, "You were late many times in my life, always arriving a little behind schedule. So I'll be late too, later and later, and someday... I just won't come at all. If that makes you angry, just deal with it."

Though even if he were angry, she wouldn't know anyway.

Marisol straightened up, curving her lips into a slight smile. "I'm l

Marisol thought that didn't seem possible. After all, Andre wasn't the type to take things lying down. Though she hated to admit it, Andre had always been just like Lucian—not just in looks, but in that stubborn personality that refused to back down from anything. If he had really been bullied, there's no way he wouldn't say something. So, was this really the first time? All this guessing was just making Marisol more anxious. So, she could only urge Zayne to hurry up and get to the school first....The moment Marisol stepped into Sunshine Elementary School's nurse's office, she froze at the chaotic scene before her. Two equally bruised and battered kids were being kept separated by their teacher, Carol. Andre really had gotten into a fight! "Mom!" The second he saw her, Andre rushed over with a muffled cry, clung to her waist, and broke down sobbing. Between his cries, he slurred out his complaints. "Mom, they bullied me and hit me. They even knocked out my tooth!"Hearin

After briefly scanning the new project proposals on her desk in the headquarters office, including Nevaeh's AI automation coverage research project plan, Marisol pushed them back and looked at Ross. He was standing in front of her desk. Once again, she gave a firm refusal. "No. Mr. Leroy, I've told you many times that this project lacks adequate technical team support."No matter how you adjust the proposal, it won't work. It'll just be a money pit. Are you out of your mind? Don't you have any other projects to work on?" Her tone carried a hint of impatience.Ross was a major shareholder who had contributed to the company for years, so she didn't want to speak too harshly. But with this level of stubbornness, nothing seemed to get through to him, and she was truly fed up.What kind of spell had Nevaeh cast on Ross? Or was he really just that stupid?"But you can see that this project has great potential and a very promising concept. We should give it a chance since there's a real

Andre suddenly rushed forward, kicking the boy to the ground and pinning him down while throwing punches. Having been specifically trained by Otto, several kids tried to pull him off, but they couldn't move him. Instead, they got hit with a few punches themselves and ran away screaming. The two boys wrestled on the ground. The boy who was being beaten wasn't one to give up easily either. He struggled fiercely, throwing punches at Andre while shouting."Andre Muller, you're just a kid nobody wants, with no dad or mom! You don't know, do you? Even if your dad hadn't died, your parents would have divorced anyway!"Nobody wants you! My dad says you're just unwanted trash, a jinx. It's because of you that your dad died... mmph!"Hearing this, Andre's face showed no surprise at all. With a dark expression, he swung his fists harder without saying a word. Blood splattered. Soon, the boy was reduced to just wailing. Finally, a teacher who had been called over arrived and separated the two

Sienna smacked the back of his head and said coldly, "Why do you talk like I'm crazy?"She turned her gaze to Marisol. "Marisol, that foolish son of mine misses you quite a lot. Feel free to visit our home when you have time. We have... plenty of time ahead of us."Her lips curved into a smile, but her eyes remained cold. Having said her piece, she turned and walked away.Nevaeh smiled at Marisol, malice practically spilling from her eyes, then turned to follow. "Enna, wait for me.""Sorry about that." Nolan looked quite embarrassed. He was helpless about this kind of situation too. "My sister has some misunderstandings. I'll explain things to her later and bring her to apologize properly..."How could this be explained? If it could be explained clearly, it would have been sorted out in the eight months since her release. The fact that she was still acting this way showed that Sienna truly believed what she said. Marisol didn't know what to say. After all this time, how could S

"You're Marisol?" It was a sharp voice. Marisol stepped back, rubbed her forehead, and looked up to meet fierce eyes tinged with red at the corners. It was a woman smoking a slender cigarette at the banquet. The woman was tall. Her burgundy suit gave her an intimidating presence that warned people to keep their distance. Her sharp eyes carried intense scrutiny as she looked Marisol up and down. Her crimson manicured fingers held the slender cigarette that was wreathed in smoke. She leaned closer with a somewhat oppressive air and asked again, "Are you Marisol?""Yes."Smoke wafted toward her face. Though it wasn't the harsh, unpleasant kind but rather a cool mint scent, Marisol still frowned and stepped back. She hated the smell of smoke. Any smoke."Who are you?"Marisol was certain she didn't know this woman and had never seen her before. Remembering Nevaeh's earlier comment about coming to witness her misery, she frowned.Did this imposing woman know Nevaeh? Was she here to

Seeing that Marisol wasn't angry, Anna breathed a sigh of relief. But she was still curious. She'd been working alongside Marisol for some time now, and in her view, Zayne was practically omnipotent. For many work details and key points, Zayne could produce the corresponding materials whenever needed without much explanation from Marisol. He'd even prepare several backup plans in advance for her to choose from. With all that capability, logically, there shouldn't be a need for an additional secretary. Zayne was completely competent on his own. She was like a bridge between them. Her abilities weren't really showcased; most of the time, she was just a messenger. After all this time, she could tell that Marisol genuinely disliked Zayne. In her opinion, Zayne was wonderful. He was capable, loyal, and handsome to boot!Having him in the office was truly a feast for the eyes, but Marisol just couldn't stand him. She'd even separated their offices when they were in the country.Anna ha
