Rick's POV

The instant they said they were looking for Bella's mother, Piera, I knew where they would head—the old pack house. Because the Night Walker Pack, Lilet's pack, was an adjoining territory of the Crimson Petals Pack, I didn't hesitate. I shifted straight away, my wolf racing through the woods at breakneck pace, driving myself harder than ever before. My heartbeat thudded in my ears as I approached the deserted building, my breathing in short, nervous gasps.

I phoned Bella once more, my hand grasping my phone tightly, but she immediately hung up. My gut tightened with anxiety. Something was going down. Something I wasn't witnessing.

As I entered the old room, the large wooden door groaned open. I was greeted by the cutting gasps and shocked cries. Bella, Lilet, and her mother all jumped towards me, their eyes wide in shock. They did not expect to find me there.

Dirt was stuck on Bella's lovely face, grime streaks smudged across her cheeks. Relief and shock blended in the face

Bella's POVAnticipation coursed through me as I walked towards the waterfalls. The cool air, the whoosh of water, and the hint of adventure made me want to keep pace with Jestine, who strode ahead with assured steps. The walkway was rough, but I trailed after it heedlessly. Then a solid object hit the back of my head, and a stinging pain erupted. The surroundings around me became distorted, and before I could do anything, I was in darkness.Slowly coming to, I realized I was on the hard, metal floor of a truck in motion. The air was heavy with an unpleasant, musty smell, and it was hard to breathe. I attempted to roll over, but my body would not comply. Fear tingled on the fringes of my brain as I became aware that my hands and feet were bound. My wrists burned with a fierce heat—silver bindings. Whoever had bound me was well aware of what they were about.Hard blinking to get used to the dim environment, I absorbed the situation that lay before me. The van was packed with other girl

  • Twice Fated   Chapter 77: Rick's POV

Rick's POV Bella vanished.Into thin air.I was paralyzed, my heart pounding against my ears as Alpha Winkle and Teddy stood to either side of me. We'd just exited the training hall when Luna Jestine blocked our path, her eyes blazing with anger and something even worse - terror. Her entire frame was taut, as if holding back the tempest within. What do you mean Bella vanished?" she thundered, her voice as cutting as a knife.I gulped hard, my words grudging. "We visited the falls, and when I glanced around… she had vanished. She's been gone for two hours, and perhaps the female trader kidnapped her.The words were bitter in my mouth. Bella was no ordinary person - she was tough, a fighter in her own right. She could defend herself against an attacker. But this was not according to the plan. We were going to follow her kidnappers, not get her kidnapped before my very eyes.Luna Jestine's jaw clenched. "We've called up all of our fighters. We don't have many, but we have fierce ones. Y

  • Twice Fated   Chapter 76: The Welcome Party

It was early morning, and I was on the balcony of the Redwood Pack's room, glued to the stunning view of the waterfalls dropping down the cliffs. Pine-fresh air and the distant roar of water filled my senses, and for an instant, everything around me turned serene.A light tap on the door interrupted my thoughts. Jestine came in, followed by an omega with a tray of coffee and breakfast."Good morning, Luna," she said with a bright smile. "My husband, Winkle, and Alpha Rick are having a serious debate regarding the missing women. When I learned that you were awake, I thought I'd bring you breakfast.""Thanks, Jestine," I answered, looking over at the chubby-cheeked little boy in her arms. My heart melted at his bright eyes. "Well, well, Kristoff is cute."Jestine glowed. "Yes, I am a happy mom.""He takes after you," I noted, running my fingers over his silky curls. "What a pretty little boy."Jestine smiled wryly. "He will become a powerful alpha someday."I agreed. Standing there, our

The Missing WomenWe sat in the receiving area after dinner. Rick and Alpha Winkle were in a heated discussion, their speech soft but insistent."We've lost several of our pack females over the past few weeks," Winkle explained darkly. "Vanished without a trace."Rick's face clouded. "When I was a child, my mother, the late Luna Queen - abolished the slave trade and prostitution rings in these regions. If the women are vanishing again… it might be that they're in business again."I shivered. The mere idea of such atrocities still present was too much to bear. "How is it even possible? How are there slave traders even in our time?Winkle shook his head. "That's what we have to determine."This was no ordinary holiday. We had arrived to learn something nefarious, and I felt we were merely scratching the surface.Rick's eyes blazed with determination as he balled his fists. "Slavery is a relic of the past - or so we all thought. But the reality is, there's more than meets the eye beneath

"We're going to the Redwood Pack for a couple of days to follow up on some leads," Rick told me, attempting to sound nonchalant."No way! But what about your job." I could hear the fear in my voice, but Rick had an answer ready."Beta Mark can take care of it," he comforted me. "He'll explain to everyone that we're on a brief holiday - without the kids. We're only bringing Gamma Teddy with us."It wasn't long before the staff completed packing our suitcases. Watching them move systematically through the corridors, I couldn't help but think of my children. I had to bid them farewell before we departed. In the playroom, Edsel and Gian were seated on the floor, working on their puzzles. They glanced up, the keen young eyes of the two scanning my face the moment I came in."Mommy, where are Mommy and Daddy going?" Edsel, the elder of the two, inquired. He was always so perceptive."We're just going on a little vacation, baby," I replied, bending down to their level."A vacation without us

Chapter 73: Bella's POVBella's POV"You would've been taken from me," he growled, his voice thick with raw venom. "So I hope Georgina is roasting in hell currently."I tensed, stunned by the raw hatred oozing from his voice. But then—humor. A small, dry laugh rose in my throat. What the devil? The woman he cared about. Was he really referring to me?Oh, the irony. If Cole hadn't betrayed me with Georgina, I would never have met Rick. I would never have fallen in love. It was he who discarded me like a piece of worthless rubbish, and now he wanted to play this tragic, grieving actor? Please. The same guy who had sworn for eternity that Georgina was his true love now hoped for her damnation in hell. Men were so predictable. Before I could utter a word, a soft, questioning voice pierced the thick silence. "So… who is the love of your life?"I spun hard. "Edsel, don't," I breathed, quickly covering my son's mouth. My heart racing, I looked back and forth between him and Cole. Edsel sc
