A Shocking Rejection

XAVIER

"Will I be okay, here?" my voice cracked at the end of my statement, a lump lodging itself in my throat.

"Look at me, Xavi" mum said, taking my hands in hers.

Blinking back the moisture in my eyes, I turned to look at my mum, my brows creased. I was feeling emotional. This was happening a lot, lately. My emotions seemed to be heightened and so did my mood swings.

"Just breathe and try to hope for the best. You'll do just fine. I believe in you. Your siblings will be here with you this time. It's going to be easier for you, I promise" mum said to me with hopeful eyes.

"I love you, mum. I'll see you later" I smiled, leaning over to give her a kiss on the cheek.

"Please, be alright" I heard mum say as she watched me get out of the car. I knew she was always worried about me. So, I decided that I was going to try not to get expelled again.

I walked down the hallway, my nostrils already identifying the different scents of the students. The school was for all supernaturals. Hence, I could perceive the scents of werewolves from different packs, werefoxes, vampires, and the rest of them. Memories of being accused of being darkness itself haunted my mind and I clenched my jaw, tensed. I wasn't going to allow such memories taint my new start.

"Xavi?!"

I halted at the sound of my baby sister's voice. I turned around and there she was, the smile on her face reflecting in her hazel eyes. Her dyed black and white tresses framed her face in smooth waves, her gold rimmed glasses resting on the bridge of her nose. She walked up to me and embraced me.

"Hey, Heather" I said, grinning.

"Mum called yesterday and told us you were coming" she said.

"I missed you too. What are the glasses for? You know quite well that your eyesight is great"

"Lately, I've taken a liking to glasses. Come with me, let's get you settled down" she said with a lingering smile on her face.

I followed her down the hall, realizing how much I'd missed her.

Few minutes later, I was walking into a classroom which was buzzing with life. As soon as I walked in, everyone went silent and stared. Then, the chattering began.

"Xavi! Over here!" I looked towards the back of the class, a grin working it's way onto my face at the sight of my identical twin brother, Oliver.

After a brief bro hug, I settled down on the unoccupied seat on Oliver's left.

"I think mum made sure our schedules rhymes" Oliver said to me as he handed me his schedule. Sure enough, he was right. I knew my mother was more anxious about the fact that the prophecy that had been foretold even before I was born, was showing signs of manifestation.

"Don't worry, Xavi. You've got this" Oliver said, patting my shoulder.

A tall man with round glasses walked in. His gaze roved over the students and settled on me.

"Looks like we have a second Blackwood in our midst. Boy, introduce yourself" he said and all eyes fell on me.

Deciding to play it cool, I rose to my feet with a smile, noticing how most of the girls were already swooning over me.

"My name is Xavier. Xavier Blackwood. I'm nineteen years old and I'm from the Silver Claw pack. Nice to meet you all"

"Nice to meet you, too. I do hope you're not as troublesome as your twin brother. Have your seat, Xavier"

I snorted in amusement as I sat down. If only he knew how troublesome I could be.

Before the class ended, I received so many notes from a lot of girls in the class. They were elated about the fact that there were two Blackwood brothers in the same class with them. At the end of the class, Ollie showed me his own share of notes he'd gotten from the girls. With a shit eating grin on his face, he patted my shoulder.

'Get used to it, bro. It's only going to get worse. From notes to stickers. Then, it progresses to letters and gifts that will suddenly appear in our lockers overnight' he said to me through telepathy.

'Sounds fun' I responded and his grin widened.

The thing was, I wasn't a stranger to such things. In my former school, everything went downhill when they found out about the prophecy surrounding me. I became an item of disgust and hate. I hoped I would be able to keep my secret from them, long enough for me to graduate.

'What's that? Is that blood?' Oliver suddenly said, his gaze resting on my black shirt. I looked down and saw the bloodstain on my shirt, my eyes widened.

'Did you get into another fight? Why aren't you healing?' his eyes were filled with concern.

'I didn't get into a fight. Don't tell mum about this, it's nothing. I'll be back' I said and rose to my feet, covering the blood stain on my shirt with my leather jacket.

I could feel Oliver's gaze lingering on me until I was out of his sight. Cursing under my breath, I started to rush down the hallway, searching for a bathroom.

All of a sudden, I bumped into a girl and her books fell to the ground with a thud. The first thing that hit me was her scent. Cinnamon and strawberry. Zeres, my wolf, stirred immediately. His sudden excitement making my heart pound faster.

"I'm so sorry. I wasn't looking" she said as we both bent down to pick up her books.

Her wavy midnight black hair had turquoise highlights. Once she raised her head to look at me, I nearly cursed out loud. Her eyes were green. The prettiest kind of green I've ever seen. She rose to her feet and gave me a small smile.

"I have to get to class. I'm in a hurry" she said and started to hurry away. I stared at her, feeling bedazzled. She was such a beautiful sight. And the exciting part was that, she was my mate.

Her feet came to a halt at that instant, and she immediately turned around to look at me, her eyes narrowed.

"What?"

I blinked, wondering why she was looking so angry. I was sure I hadn't said my thoughts out loud. Even if I did, was she going to reject me? I doubted that.

She started to walk towards me, her eyes fired up with anger. She eventually stopped in front of me, gazed into my eyes and frowned.

"Who are you?" She demanded.

"Xavier Blackwood" I responded, still confused.

Her eyes widened. I wondered if it was because she knew Oliver. She probably mistook me for Oliver. Or, she wasn't in good terms with him. He was popular with girls, had he dated her?

While I was making speculations in my head, she grabbed my arm and glared at me. Then, she did the unexpected.

She kicked me in the groin and I doubled over in pain.

"Mate my ass. You pervert" she spat and stormed off. All that went through my mind at that moment was: Did I just get rejected?

  • Twin Alphas: Wings Of Prophecy Series   A Weird Kind Of Different

JAZMINE It was him, Oliver's twin. He stared at me like he'd just been told that the world was about to end. I wondered why."Hey, what's up? I believe we've met before" I said, holding out a hand for a handshake. He blinked at me, still looking dazed. "Hello?" I said, waving my hand in front of his face. "Right. Nice to see you again... Jazmine" he said, finally accepting my handshake. He had a smile on his face. But, it didn't reach his eyes. I was more curious at this point. "You never said anything about having a twin brother, Oliver. Where have you been hiding him all this time?" I asked."We got separated at some point" Oliver replied, giving me a nervous smile. "You two look so alike. It's almost impossible to differentiate you two" "Almost impossible? You can differentiate us, can't you?" I leaned closer to the twins, squinting my eyes to get a clearer look at them. I gasped at the sight of Xavier's eyes. His eyes were changing every few seconds. They were alternating

XAVIER No matter the angle I tried to look at it, I still couldn't understand why my mate had rejected me. Nothing seemed to be adding up. I was completely clueless. I wasn't unattractive, I knew that. Unless she had something against attractive people, it didn't make sense that she would reject me just like that. Come to think of it, she had asked for my name too. Was she harbouring a vendetta towards people bearing 'Xavier'? Or, was it my last name instead? "I wonder what's going on in your head, you look like you're suffering from a heartbreak" My sister's voice snapped me out of my train of thoughts. She placed a plate of cookies in front of me and sat down on a chair opposite me. I watched her as she picked a cookie and took a bite out of it. "Wow, you really look like you've just been rejected" she stated, looking amused. When I still didn't say anything, her smile faded. "No way. Did a girl reject you?" She breathed, her eyes wide. "For real?!" Oliver exclaimed as he w

JAZMINE 'Who the hell does the bastard think he is?' I thought. This wasn't the first time I was having an encounter with a pervert. I had heard his thoughts as clear as day. It was an ability of mine. The annoying part was that he had claimed to be my mate and when I'd touched him to confirm it, I didn't feel a thing! His scent was weird too. Was it blocked? I couldn't tell. I hoped that we would never cross paths again, because if we did, I would make sure to embarrass him. During lunch break, my best friend and I, stood by our lockers, returning our books to their positions. "You look upset. Did you encounter another pervert?" Sage, my best friend said as she slammed her locker shut. "As a matter of fact, I did." She wrinkled her nose in disgust. "Let me guess, he kept staring at you and tried to touch you?" "Not like that. He was staring at me and then, he claimed that I was his mate.""What? The nerve of him!""He didn't say it out loud though" I said and she sighed. "

  • Twin Alphas: Wings Of Prophecy Series   New School

XAVIER Pain shot through my whole body when I tried to move. I could feel myself bleeding from all the open wounds on my body. "Fuck" I muttered, as I uncoiled my body and pushed up against the wall of the alley where I'd just been nearly stoned to death. My schoolmates had just tried to kill me because I'd gotten into a fight with the school's beloved, several hours ago. It really wasn't my fault. Jonathon had pushed me to the wall. He had made Zeres upset, what was I supposed to do? I admit that I'd beaten him up, badly. But, I'd apologized, gone through detention and was expelled. I knew they hated me because they were afraid of me. But, it didn't justify the fact that they had attacked me so viciously. I could have fought back. But, there had been so many of them. I had feared that I would commit mass murder if I'd decided to fight back and defend myself. Besides, the red and black pearl bracelet sitting around my right wrist was keeping a leash on my wolf and my will to fig
