Chapter Forty Eight

(Lena's POV)

I couldn't stop thinking about what Isis had said. I was the one they wanted and I was putting the whole pack in danger, that was no qualities of a Luna and a leader.

"What is wrong, Lena?" Damien asked. His hands were around me, and I was so close to him that I felt his warmth, his scent was manly and beautiful, I wanted to inhale deeply but I refrained because that would make me look like a creep.

"She is right, you know."

"What do you mean?" he asked, and even if I couldn't see his eyes, I felt the intensity of his gaze on me and I flushed a light shade of red.

"If you had me over, this would all end; the pack doesn't have to be in danger."

"Don't. Don't even think about it; you would stay here."

"Is just one person for the whole pack?"

"No, it's the Luna for the whole pack, and that's a completely different thing, it just doesn't work this way; we never surrender; they've made no advances yet, but when they do— we will be ready for them.
