Chapter 4.2

Ares and Liam exchanged meaningful looks, giving him a signal to be ready, and of course, the latter just grinning in accordance.

"Zenith has the most powerful alliances worldwide. Now, given that every one of you wanted to become a part of Zenith, we can just take everyone in. You, the people inside this room was previously chosen by the father of Zenith. But still, we can't take you all. There were only six powerful families in Zenith, so we can only take six. Who could that be?" Francisco looked at each of them viciously. He was even laughing like he was about to start a good game.

Liam is positioned beside Ares as he knows what will be going to happen next.

"Are you telling us to kill each other!?" The man from the leaders speaks up angrily. He is from the Cavalier Clan, one of his organization's alliances.

"We never wanted this meeting anyway. We never said to join the Zenith!!" Another one from Romulus Clan appealed.

The arguing from the leaders continued while, on the other hand, Ares was studying each one of them who are now in chaos, trying to defend their life. If he allows this to happen, he might lose one or two of his alliances inside this room. He might be ruthless, but he always considers everyone under his organization, especially those who pledged their life to his family's name.

Each of the Dons has only ten guards inside. The others were waiting for them outside the mansion. The front door was locked, and he was one hundred percent sure the room was soundproof. There is no way these people can make it out here alive. Francisco's men were all over the place inside the mansion.

"We are not street dogs, Francisco. These people here are the elite families of San José. This is our territory. These people here are my people." He sternly said, then he tossed the black envelope on the floor.

The crowd went silent, but this time, Ares's words boosted their confidence as they stood fiercely looking at Monaco's members.

"Very well, Grant. Just a while ago, these people here were your competitors in San José. Now, look at them. As if they are glorifying you like their God." Francisco blatantly answered. He gritted his teeth disdainfully.

Because this is how things were going around the City. These people became his competitors because he declined to have business with them, which gives them the reason to hate him. But when he acknowledged them earlier as 'his people, their faces lit in excitement. The power of having Grant's name holds supremacy in San José.

"These people are mine. Then how about this, I will give you my own stamp. That could give you way in and outside the City. I heard you wanted to build a tower in the East. I'll give it to you without causing any problem. Everyone, do you have a problem with that?" He turned his head to the leaders who were listening eagerly. Francisco followed his gaze while his face was turning red.

Liam, who was standing behind him, was holding his laugh.

"No. Your way, Mr. Grant. We'll follow." Hugo answered proudly. This time, he knows to himself that there is no way he could defeat this man.

Everyone nods in agreement, and that makes Francisco furious. His men begin to point their guns, aiming at Ares. When Liam reacts, the men of the leaders point their weapons at Francisco.

Ares sarcastically laughs while one hand is in his pocket and the other one is unbuttoning his collar.

"Tsk. See? There is no problem at all. You don't have to make us kill each other when you can get what you want in the simplest way. But I have one condition."

He walks his way to the center of the room. The atmosphere becomes silent once again.

"Give me a fair fight. Isn't this the easiest way to prove to the elders that I, Ares Grant, is welcoming Zenith Palace to my City?"

He clutched his fists, waiting for Francisco to attack. But instead of getting a one on one fight, Francisco ordered his men to lunge. The first ten men strike him with a baseball bat, but he manages to duck and roll in each strike before giving them a punch and twisting their heads. Ares was aiming their vital parts. When the last one was dead, ten men came all at once. He pulled the man who tried to cut his neck with the Karambit, twisted his arm, and made the man cry in pain when he broke every bone in his shoulder. He grabbed the other two men who had Karambit knives and used them to slit their necks. Blood was spilled everywhere, and now he was drenched in blood.

He killed twenty people in less than fifteen minutes! And now the remaining men of Monaco fiercely attacked him, though he is also wounded in some parts and almost tired, he manages to avoid the attacks, also battling for his damn life!

"Aren't you gonna help him?!" The leaders from the Cavalier family shouted angrily at Liam, who was watching in peace.

"Nah! He's a big baby. He can manage himself. If you want, go join him." Liam confidently answered, making faces. They've already scanned the area before they got in here. Their men carrying snipers were in their positions. No one noticed that. As long as the fight between Monaco and Ares does not include bullets, he will not interfere.

Ares told him not to step inside the fight unless it was unbearable. And upon saying him bathing in blood, it's not that serious, does it?

"Aren't we supposed to help him?" The other one in his sixties nervously suggests.

Liam just waved his hand and whispered 'no.' Like, come on! Ares has nine lives! He is probably living as a cat in his past life, yeah?

"If he can fight this very well, why didn't he fight back when we were in the forest?" Hugo asked him curiously.

Liam looked at Hugo for a second, then returned his gaze to Ares, who is now slitting necks and breaking bones of Monaco's men like a devil. A smile formed on his face, very proud of his brother. He looks in Francisco Monaco's direction, who looks terrified when his men are all dead on the floor.

Horrified, all eyes were glued to Ares as Ares sauntered to Francisco's front with a knife in his hand.

"Here is my stamp," almost out of his breath, Ares speaks as he throw the stamp in front of Francisco. He was tired, but he needed to let the Zenith know what he was capable of.

"And give them this as my gift." As he said those words, he grabbed and cut the thumb of Francisco.

The man screams in horror as Ares puts his thumb on his palm. The elders gasp, shaking, not wanting to witness Ares slaughtered the men, and now ending with a mark on one of Monaco's family.

When Ares stood up and walked out, Liam followed him, but before that, he stopped and turned his head to Hugo, who looked dumbfounded.

"He did not kill you because you are not worthy of his time. Also, be proud. Grant gave you and your family the chance to live." He seriously said, leaving the man in shock.
