I stayed in the bathroom, sobbing quietly on the cold tiled floor. My body trembled as I cried, and even though the tears had slowed, my heart kept breaking over and over again. One thing was certain. I was not going back downstairs. I could not face that room again. I hoped the party would end soon. I knew I had ruined my makeup with all the crying, but I did not care anymore.

I had no idea how long I had been sitting there until I heard the door open. Sarah stepped in and froze when she saw me lying on the bathroom floor, my body curled up and limp.

“Oh my God, Judi. We have been looking for you. Why are you on the floor?” she asked in a panic, rushing to help me up.

I did not respond. I did not even have the strength to pretend. She led me out of the bathroom and into the bedroom, helping me sit on the edge of the bed. Then she sat beside me, still staring in concern.

“What happened? Frida has been looking for you for the past half an hour,” she said gently.

Still, I said nothing.

I woke up very early, before the sun had even risen. Sitting up on my side of the bed, I stared at Aleksander’s sleeping body beside me. He looked so innocent while he slept, the complete opposite of how he is when he is awake.I forced myself out of bed and decided to take a stroll. I was still wearing my sweatpants and a loose top from the night before, so I did not bother to change. As I walked downstairs, I passed a few house helps already busy with their daily tasks. A wave of annoyance, anger, and deep disrespect washed over me. I still felt all of it from yesterday. If only I could take my life back to the way it was before I let him in.Walking across the lawn outside the house, I found myself talking to myself, venting aloud about how irritated and upset I was. For signing those papers. For being here. For everything. Now, all I wanted was to go back home. The worst part of my emotional crash was that Aria was not talking to me. I hated it. I did not know how long she would k

  • Twisted Fate    A Shattering Life

Everything turned out well at the party. I was introduced to a lot of people—wealthy families with names that carried weight. The atmosphere felt expensive, and the guests arrived with luxurious gifts. Some even asked why the wedding had been kept a secret until now.All the nerves I had felt earlier slowly faded. For a moment, it felt like I was having the best time of my life. But Aleksander barely spoke to me. He acted like I was the one who had forced him into this marriage. His behavior since we arrived had felt off, like he was hiding something from me. I honestly do not know how people have not noticed that something is wrong with our marriage.Whatever distraction he is waiting for, I am sure it is coming. And people will definitely leave this party with plenty of gossip about this family all over again. He stood beside me, expressionless. When people came over, he forced a smile, but still managed to ignore me the entire night. The worst part was how he kept checking the entr

  • Twisted Fate    A Beckoning Life

It was almost time for the party, just a few hours after Grandma had sent out the invitations. Suddenly, it had turned into a celebration of Aleksander and me, a wedding party that had never been planned the traditional way.I had seen the invitation card. Our names were boldly printed across the front. It looked elegant, beautifully designed, and expensive. How it had been made so quickly baffled me. Invitations had gone out to family, close relatives, friends, and even media outlets. Given how reputable the Barginsen family was, I expected nothing less.Still, I was tense. Nervous. Everything felt so unfamiliar. I was surrounded by people I barely knew. None of my family or friends were here. Not even Aria. I had sent her countless messages, but she still had not responded. I asked Collins about her, and he told me she was truly upset about the choice I had made. Now I was sitting in front of a mirror getting my makeup done. Sarah had brought in several designer dresses, and a profe

After breakfast, I spent more time with Grandma on the sofa. She told me her name was Frida, but the family mostly called her farmor, which meant father’s mother in their language. We shared a light conversation. She asked me about my life in the States, how I met her grandson, and so much more. She was warm and curious, and I found myself answering with soft smiles and careful words. She soon called one of Aleksander’s staff members, a family event coordinator, to begin preparations for the small party she had planned for tonight. She described every detail of how she wanted it to be.“I have always wanted to plan my grandson’s wedding. I hope you do not mind everything I am doing,” she said, glancing over at me gently.I smiled. “You are doing great. As long as you are happy, that is all that matters.”She paused thoughtfully, then said, “This is very sudden. I should have thought about your family. Maybe they would have liked to come.”“My parents are late,” I answered softly. “But

I did not get enough rest last night. Throughout the night, I lay there staring at the ceiling while Mr Billionaire slept peacefully on the small couch near his window. He had given me the entire bed, saying, “Since it is your first night here, I want you to feel comfortable. The bed is all yours,” shortly after we entered his room. The interior of his room spoke volumes, just like his personality. The walls were painted in neutral tones, mostly white, grey, and black. Still, it carried life. There were several beautiful paintings hanging on the walls. He clearly loved art, and it showed. His room was clean, elegant, and very spacious. The bed was massive, a double king size, dressed beautifully in layers of grey and white. The closet stood out with its glass doors, revealing his walk in space that was perfectly arranged. His bathroom was just as large, and the moment I walked past it, I noticed it smelled like him.Actually, the entire room smelled like him. A rich, bold scent that l
