The General's (Eric's) P.O.V

I had known that it would be chaotic when she woke up, but nothing prepared me for my door flying off it's hinges.

I must be crazy because I honestly could not help but smile.

“You’re not safe out there. Go back to the room, please.” I immediately started as she started to move towards the door after accusing me of trying to use her as a lab rat.

The words came out steady, and calm. Far calmer than the storm that tore inside me.

My voice had always been a weapon of control. It hid the rage, the fear, the hunger I never wanted her to see, but as I stood there, watching her chest rise and fall, eyes blazing with something that burned through me sharper than any blade, I knew she could sense the battle beneath my composure.

As expected, she did not listen.

Instead, she turned those eyes on me and asked the one question I had dreaded from the first day she had defied death on that blood-soaked execution ground.

“What do you want from me?” She asked in a no no

Yewa's P.O.VThe way I felt in this moment was one that I could not put a finger on. It was like the cloudy sky and sun up in the sky just represented my feelings in this moment. It all came rushing back like it was just yesterday that it happened. The betrayal I felt deep in my heart that I was too ashamed to talk about, the anger, the pain to escape, my wounds and the stupid affection I was developing at the time. The wounds that had healed and it's forgotten scars seemed to start to open up at the sight of him. Every wall I had built in the past year cracked like glass under a hammer. It was as if time folded in on itself and I wasn’t Christy anymore, the woman who poured coffee and smiled at strangers. I was Yewa again, the fugitive who had fled his house under a moonless sky, lungs burning, ribs aching, praying that no one cared enough to pursue her.Except he had cared, and now, a year later, his presence proved he had never stopped. The flood of emotions was unbearable. The su

The General's (Eric's) P.O.VAfter all these months, all the disappointments, and a heavy heart that could not even function properly, I got a whiff. It was faint and almost like I had imagined but that was not the case as I had tried to imagine it sometimes just to feel the comfort of the illusion of her presence but I could never get the exact smell in my memory. It was her.It had to be her.“Is there a problem?” Dylan asked the second he saw the shift and the urgency in my demeanor as I stood up with a speed that even I didn't think of.“I smelt her.” I responded in a daze as a smile that I could surpress rested on my lips and my brain in awe of what I had missed so much.As soon as I told him, he inhaled deeply to try to grasp whatever it was that I smelt but from the disappointed look and roll fo his eyes, he got nothing.By the roll of his eyes, I knew what he wanted to say before he even uttered a word and I didn't want to hear it because I was not mistaken.“You might just be

The General's (Eric's) P.O.V “It's just a phase.” “It will pass.” “He never felt any special emotion for anyone before so he thinks his attraction is love” They all said whenever they saw me look miserable as I was indeed miserable. They said it would pass. It was easier for them, in those early days, to call it a phase. “The Tiger General ensnared in some brief folly”. That belief kept them comfortable. It kept their faith in order intact, but the men who watched me night after night, those who ate with me, fought at my side, and slept within the radius of my command began to see the truth written on my face. That the “phase” didn’t pass, and instead, the hollow in me deepened. There were moments they thought I was simply punishing myself when I would ride until my throat burned and the horizon looped strange and empty. When I traced the places on the map where we had last smelled her, tiny notations, circles within circles, and then I would pack and leave again, I s

The General's (Eric's) P.O.VMy tribe of the Tigers felt smaller than usual when I walked in. The torches that usually lent the hall a steady, amber confidence seemed to flare and gutter, casting the faces around the council table into a harsh, accusing light. I could smell smoke, oil, and the faint metallic tang of tension, my people’s unease braided with something uglier; disappointment. They were all there. Rakan, Mael, Dahlia, the scarred faces I had bled beside, each one a memory of campaigns and cold dawns. She sat at the head, immaculate and composed, the queen of calm storms. My mother’s silhouette filled the throne beside her like a shadow that had learned to command daylight. Their eyes tracked me the moment I crossed the threshold, assessing, and measuring. I had the awkward sense of returning from a hunt empty-handed, but I knew this was inevitable the moment I picked up a pen and wrote that letter to the wolves.“You brought us trouble.” Rakan said first, voice low

The General's (Eric's) P.O.V“General!” Dylan’s voice was somewhere behind me, sharp and warning, but I didn’t hear him fully as my blood roared in my ears. The Alpha tried to sink his claws into my side but I'm sure he didn't expect that I was faster considering my broadness.I twisted, forcing his arm behind him until bone strained, and he snarled slamming his forehead into mine, with the crack resounding through the chamber. Pain flared, but I welcomed it. It sharpened me.Giving him joy time to even blink. I slammed him into the stone pillar, the impact making the walls quake, and with the speed in which he gets up, I realise that he isn't one of those weak alphas that rely on their soldiers for strength.Great. I loved the competition. The guards surged forward. Blades gleamed and raised high, ready to strike us both down if needed. The wolves’ warriors circled, growls rolling like thunder, their eyes glowing yellow in the flickering light. “So this is the Tiger’s famous cont

“You really have lost your mind.” Dylan said, his voice low, eyes burning with both disbelief and loyalty “But I’m already crazy, so I’ve got you.” He said again but this time, with a smile in his eyes and on his lips, just like the lunatic I knew. I should not have smiled, but I did. It wasn’t a wide grin, wasn’t even a smirk, just the ghost of one, enough for him to know I’d heard him and had taken in his words. He was right. I had lost my mind, but my madness was the only thing keeping me standing. The plan was reckless, even by my standards. To sneak into the apex werewolf pack, the beating heart of my enemy’s power under the pretense of peace talks? To pretend I came offering terms to end a war that had stained generations in blood, when in truth all I wanted was her? Yewa. My wolf. My salvation. My curse. Yes, Dylan was right. I had lost my mind but I had no choice, but I can't fall this deep and let her go just like that. I definitely knew that there was a possi
