LACHLAN

“Can you.. please.. not touch me?”

She said it so quietly.

And yet it felt like a scream that made both me and Jeremiah flinch back like she’d stabbed us with those words not just spoken them. Still, I knew somehow it'd have hurt less if she’d actually plunged a knife in my heart and I was bleeding out to death on the floor.

My hand dropped from her cheek like she’d burned me.

Jeremiah froze on her other side, looking like he’d rather cut off his hand than let her go. But still, he withdrew back.

She whispered, “I t-think… I’d like to have a shower.”

“Let me carry you to the bathroom.” Jeremiah got up, ready to scoop her in his arms, but she leaned back from him.

“I can do it,” She croaked out, her eyes wide.

He fisted his open hand and his jaw clenched as he stepped back.

I watched as she gathered the blanket around herself. Even though we'd dressed her in her panties and one of Jeremy’s old tshirt, she still covered herself like the thought of b

  • Twisted Marriage (A Dark MMF Mafia Romance)   220. FLASHBACK: I wasn’t dead

Flashback #14 JEREMIAH When I left her bed this morning something didn’t feel right and as the hours passed that feeling only got worse and worse. It has been only eight hours, and yet every minute feels like a day in itself. I wanted her to come with me but she didn’t, because she wanted to make sure her mother and siblings get the same freedom she was about to. I understood her sentiment, but a part of me hated that she didn’t chose to be selfish. Also as soon as I landed in Russia, I got this feeling of premonition that I couldn’t seem to shake off. On our way to the house I was born, raised and lived my life in, a feeling of dread sat deep in my gut. With each mile that passed, the need to go back to my lisichka tapped inside my chest like a caged bird. “We are here,” Hugho said from the driver seat. “Do you want me to wait here—” “No. Take Jonathan, Olezka and Lachlan to the safe house. They are at the party at Xavier's.” I knew Lachlan would hate me for trying

  • Twisted Marriage (A Dark MMF Mafia Romance)   219. My own family

JUHAN Family, as a concept, was foreign to me. The only family I have ever known was my mother. And with each day that passed, I was starting to wonder if I’ll even have that in the coming future. Four days had passed since I came to live with the Rossis, courtesy of none other than but Antonio Rossi himself. I knew about him from my mother. When she'd left me in a medical facility that was more like a hostel for kids. And since last eight months I was passing each day, following the rules and keeping to myself, waiting for my mother to return and take me with her. But then four days ago, the dorm I was staying in caught fire due to a circuit failure and while I wasn’t panicking and hurrying out of my room like other kids, Antonio Rossi himself burst into my room and dragged me out through smoke and falling debris like I was someone important. No, I didn't think he was my father. But I did think he knew more about my mother and who my father was if he was gettin

  • Twisted Marriage (A Dark MMF Mafia Romance)   218. Touché, Mrs Sokolov

NINA Nikolai Bianchi wasn’t what I expected. He was worse than the media tabloids portrayed. Even his presence felt menacing and every cell in my body screamed in alarm. He had looked crazy and kind of a loose canon in the rumors and pictures, but what they didn’t describe and couldn’t capture in the pictures was the madness in his dark eyes. I swallowed as Nikolai continued to stare at me with his unsettling eyes. When I opened my mouth I didn’t know what to say. But he wasn’t waiting for me to say anything. He opened the button of his suit jacket and took a seat in front of me. He sprawled in his seat, more accurately. All his movements were like one of a jungle cat, coming to sit up on a high perch to look down on other unimportant creatures. And then he snapped his fingers, making me almost flinch at the sudden movement. A moment later the airhostess rushed to him and handed him a glass tumbler with golden liquid in it. He took a sip, never taking his ey

  • Twisted Marriage (A Dark MMF Mafia Romance)   217. Let her go

NINA Lachlan couldn’t change Jeremiah’s mind. And now ten hours later I was ascending the stairs to a matte black jet that has been waiting for us at the private airstrip. I couldn’t believe it. Last night, I was wrapped up in their arms and now not even twenty four hours later, I was on my way to Italy. And not just because I was going to bring Juhan back to his father, to his family, to where he belonged. But because my husband literally told me to leave. I paused in the middle of the stairs and looked back at them. Both of them were still standing there beside the car that Hugho drove us in. They hadn’t been able to come any further with me because of the wall of guards in black commando uniforms around the airstrip. The guards didn’t allow them to step further even when Lachlan and Jeremiah showed them that they weren’t carrying any weapons. The guards apologised and said it was their boss' order. The boss being Nikolai Bianchi. I have only heard about him and see

  • Twisted Marriage (A Dark MMF Mafia Romance)   216. I'm letting you go

NINA I stretched across the bed, my whole body pleasantly sore and spent. It took me a moment to open my eyes because, truthfully, I didn’t want to. I felt too good. Warm and sated. But there were more important things I needed to do. Like tell my husband that he already has an heir. And make sure Juhan comes home. Because, what I had been too stubborn to accept, this place was our home. Mine and Juhan’s. We belonged here. By Jeremiah’s and Lachlan’s side. I slid my hands across the bed and frowned, turning my head to find the huge bed empty except me in the middle, wrapped in blankets like a burrito. I pursed my lips as I flung the covers and slide out of the bed. Picking up the shirt off the chair, I quickly wore it and made my way to the bathroom. I decided to be presentable and face my men with fresh mind. My men. I smiled to myself. Yes. God. It felt so good to be able to freely accept it without fighting it. After using the toilet, I brushed my teeth an

  • Twisted Marriage (A Dark MMF Mafia Romance)   215. She'll come for you

JEREMIAH “I am giving you another chance, tell me what filth you spewed and who else is working with you?” She laughed in my face, her voice hoarse and grating on my ears. “Won’t you like to know!” She raked her eyes over me as she said, “Whether I tell you or not, you’re still going to kill me. You are your father’s son. A monster.” I inclined my head. “True.” I held out my hand. Hugho placed the gun in my palm. The weight of it was familiar, almost comforting. “But my father didn’t try to kill his own sons,” I continued quietly, “Like your sister did.” Her eyes flashed. “She died because of you and your father!” She spat. “She only wanted justice for what was done to her and me!!” Her rage was palpable as she screamed at me, "You want to know what I told your wife!! I told her the truth about your bloodline and what kind of monster you are. A monster who has the blood of a rapist running through his veins. I told her how your father raped my sister and tied her to him
