William's POV I went back to my office and I looked at Amelia for a while before walking past her. She did not even notice me as I went into my office. A knock sounded on the door a few minutes and Scott entered. "What is it?", I asked when he stopped in front of my table. "I have checked out that case file from ten years ago, Sir", he said and I shifted on my seat. "And?", I asked impatiently and he dropped a black file in front of me. "The police closed up the case as a homicide one, the father had killed his family members because he was high on drugs", Scott explained as I opened and looked through the paperwork. "And then suicide. The father had also sliced through his wrist after he killed his family", Scott said and I frowned. This is wrong, what about those men that Amelia mentioned were in their house that day? Is the person really powerful to have manipulated the case together with the Police? "There was a daughter in that family though and she has been lost since
William's POV I put my phone down on the table before looking at Amelia. "How are you feeling?", I asked and she nodded positively. "Better", she replied before clearing her throat. "So, I guess it's a good thing mother called then", I replied and she nodded again before smiling. "I guess so" "I should go", Amelia said, standing up before straightening her skirt. "Oh, okay", I said, standing up as well. She chuckled weirdly before walking towards the door and I frowned as I watched her leave. I have to get that killer for Amelia. About an hour later, it was lunchtime and Amelia walked through the doors of my office yet again. She stood in front of me and I looked up at her. Her face is back to normal and I noticed that she has retouched her makeup a little. "You have a lunch meeting with Mr. Fernando from Country V", Amelia said in her normal cold but alluring voice, and I sighed before standing up. "Very well, you should go with me. You don't like eating in the company
SATURDAY AFTERNOON Amelia's POV We returned to the office silently and I took my seat back behind my desk. I turned on the computer and my mind wandered to what William said in the car. What could he possibly mean by me being special from the other workers? He even said he cares a lot more about me than the others. I looked at him through the glass window beside his door and my lips slanted a bit. I can't seem to understand what he meant. Should I have just asked him what he meant instead of looking away? ... It was finally closing hours and William walked out before I could even go inside his office to tell him. "Let's go home, Amelia", he said with a smile and I quickly looked around. "What if someone had heard you?", I said in a hushed tone and he smiled again. At least, the tension between the two of us is gone. "Come on", he said as he started walking away and I rushed after him. We took the private elevator to the underground garage. Scott was waiting there already
Amelia's POV I carried on with watching the movie and a few minutes later, something dropped on my shoulder. I looked at my shoulder just to see William's head there and his words followed "Let me stay like this for a while, I am really tired", he said and I gulped. It does not matter if his head is on my shoulder, right? It does not even mean anything! Right? I turned back to watch the movie but it was just playing in front of me, I could not make a thing out of it. I can feel the rapid beating of my heart in my throat. It feels like it is beating against the inner layer of my neck. I want to turn my head, just to look at him but I still don't want to. I turned my head slowly and when I saw his face, a sigh of relief escaped my lips. His eyelashes are short and perfect? And his nose is straight and high in the air, it has a pointed tip too. I looked down at his thin lips that is just beautifully closed now. His jaw is just so chiseled and it fits his characteristics perfectly.
Amelia's POV A few days later... William walked out of his office and stood in front of me. It is just an hour to closing hours, so I am surprised he came out of his office. "Are you going somewhere?", I asked as I stood up from my seat to show him the 'respect' that he deserves. "Yes", he said shortly and I nodded before I remembered the events from a few days ago. "Where are you going to?", I asked quickly and he smiled immediately. "Get ready, we are going out", he replied and I opened my mouth to say something but I was still confused. If I am going with him to a place, then why is he smiling? And there's no meeting on his schedule for this evening, I am quite confused. "Where are we going to?", I asked slowly and he just kept on smiling. "You will know when we get there, come on now", he said and I smiled awkwardly. I don't even think I can call it a smile. "Oh", I said and he nodded. "Let's go then", he said again before walking forward. I switched off the computer
William's POV We finished having lunch and Amelia turned on the television. I thought I should join her in watching it but when I saw what she is watching, I frown appeared on my face almost immediately. It is a kitchen channel. You know, the type where they teach you how to cook different things. Yep! It's that one. I groaned at her choice of channel and she did not even react like I was in the room. I got up from my seat on the couch and went to get a novel from the library instead. I had not sat down back in my seat when the doorbell rang. "Mary came back?", Amelia asked and I looked at her. "Nope", I replied boldly and knowingly. "Who is it then?", she asked when she realized I know who was at the door even before going to check. "Mia", I said as I stood up. The ringing did not stop anyways. "Mia? Your friend?", Amelia asked again and I smiled. "You have a good memory", I replied as I got to the door. I opened it and Mia's face appeared in front of me. I moved back a
William's POV "Are you done?", I asked when his laughter had died down a little. "Yeah, I guess so", he replied with a chuckle. "So, do you have anything to advise me with or not?", I asked with a frown. I am a little bit angry to be sincere, why do all of them just keep on laughing at me? Is asking a cold attitude girl out that easy? "Just ask her to date you, man. That's all", he said and I raised my voice a little. "Yeah and I just said I do not know how to go about that", I replied. "Just tell her how you feel, man. Just let it come from your heart, that's all. Be sincere with her and you would be fine. You can always plan a date or a small meal out of the house to say it to her", Leo said seriously this time. "Right", I replied as I thought about it. "That's exactly what I should do", I added and he nodded. "Yeah, you are just being scared for nothing", he replied and I looked at him. "Thanks, man. I truly appreciate it", I said truthfully and he smiled. "Anytime", he
Amelia's POV The doorbell rang as I climbed down the stairs and I headed toward it. Mia was here already. "Hey", she said cheerily as she pulled me into a hug. "How have you been?", she asked when I left her arm. "Fine, you?", I asked back "Good", she replied with a smile and I chuckled. "You are here", William's voice sounded from behind me and I turned to look at him. He is in a white shirt and black suit trousers. His first two buttons are undone. He would go to the company in the morning and be back to pick me up in the afternoon. The wedding party is in the afternoons anyways. "Yep, I promised you and Amelia I would be here today, did I not?", she asked and William sighed. "Thanks once again", he replied smiling widely. "Come on, stop that", she replied and William chuckled. "So, we should go then", Mia said and I quickly pulled back. "I should go and get my phone", I said as I went towards the stairs quickly. I came back in about two minutes later with a small blu
