Slander.

Rory wasn't moved and just felt bored by their nonsense. By now, Clara's screaming caught the attention of passerbys and they all stopped to watch what was happening.

"What nonsense are you spouting?" Terrance looked at Clara with clear disgust.

"Now am spouting nonsense? I wonder what she did to you to make you stand up for her? She's just a harlot and an orphan! Don't fall for her tricks! She's only using you for your money!" Clara warned Terrance.

Everyone nodded their heads in agreement with some even adding their comments.

"Clara is right! She's really shameless!"

"How can a prostitute be in an institution of learning?"

"I don't even want to stand on the same ground as her,talk more of breathing the same air with her!"

"At such a young age, she's already engaging in such disgraceful acts!"

"She's just a pretty face!"

"She got into the school with a backdoor entry and to top it off she used unclean money to do so!"

Terrance glanced coldly at them. These people were obviously blind. They couldn't see the truth.

"None of you have the right to point fingers at her! What evidence do you have that she got in here using a backdoor entry or dirty money? Even if she did,what is your business? Besides,how many of you can raise your hands and proudly say that your parents didn't donate a building or some equipments of some sorts to get you in here?" He looked at them and no one dared to answer. Not even one person.

"Now you all stand here claiming to be the purest of saints and free of blemish. While in actual fact you are worse than the devil himself. You all chose to believe rumors,but no one even decided to investigate to see if It was true and the reason is simple; You all think that everyone is as terrible as you are! Well you are wrong! You should all be ashamed of yourselves!" Terrance didn't even spare them. They all looked embarrassed and the place became silent.

Rory was impressed. If not because she was too tired to move her hands,she would have applauded Terrance. He did well.

"You know I can sue you guys for slander". Rory spoke casually but they could all hear the seriousness in her voice.

What they didn't understand is that assumptions can kill. Never assume anything,always be sure of what you want to say because it could lead to unrepairable damage.

With that she strolled away.

When Rory got to class,she suddenly remembered that she forgot to take something. Her family just threw her out and she couldn't take anything but she needed to get it. It was super essential. So she decided to pay her family a visit.

When it was closing,Rory got into a taxi and headed for the Devane Mansion. She already texted Daniel not to pick her up today. She didn't know the way but the address so she told the driver the address.

After 40 minutes of driving,the taxi finally stopped by a black gate. She paid the man and stood in front of the house. Face to face with the house,a lot of emotions surged in. She looked at the big,white mansion. It was luxurious. No matter how much she hated this very place,she lived here for 18 years. All her life,she was trapped in the four corners of the walls of the house. She looked at the house for a long time before she finally rung the door bell.

Inside the living room of the Devane Mansion.

"What do you mean she came to school?!" Mrs Devane said angrily.

"Yes Mom....I saw her with my eyes. She was even wearing the school uniform". Sammy said meekly.

"Where did she say she got the money to school there?" Mrs Devane questioned Sammy.

"I don't know. I asked her about it and she said it was her life and I shouldn't care. I should leave her alone". Sammy lied through her teeth.

Her response only made Mrs Devane more upset. "What kind of girl is this? She's so unruly! How can she sell herself for money? She is simply nothing like you Sammy. You are kind and thoughtful. Am so glad God gave me a daughter like you and not a girl that is wretched like Rory!" Mrs Devane said praising Sammy and insulting Rory. Sammy was so happy in her heart. Who was she calling illegitimate? Even if she was illegitimate,she had everything. Love,money and fame.

Just then a made walked in and announced,"Madam, Miss Aurora is here. Should I let her in?"

Speak of the devil.

"Let her in!" Mrs Devane scoffed. This is a good opportunity to humiliate her.

Rory walked in lazily with her hand in her pocket. Her blue eyes looked around the woman and saw everything was the same since she left.

Mrs Devane sat on the couch and said arrogantly,"Have you come to beg us? If you have,then don't waste your time because we won't take you beg!"

Rory smiled.

"You really her shameless. After stealing someone's husband,you still have the guts to behave like the Madam of this house?"Rory snorted coldly.

"You..."Mrs Devane was speechless.

"Rory,I know we have our differences and you are still upset but you shouldn't talk to your elders like that!" Sammy told Rory.

"Haven't they taught you,that when humans are talking,dogs aren't allowed to bark". Rory retorted.

Sammy choked.

"Why are you here?" After a moment of silence,Mrs Devane finally asked.

"To take what belongs to me". Rory replied her.

Mrs Devane laughed and said,"What belongs to you? Nothing in this house belongs to you!"

"And nothing belongs to you either!" Rory argued back.

Mrs Devane gritted her teeth and was about to speak when Sammy spoke up.

"Mom let her take what she wants to. We have no right to stop her. It's not like she's going to steal anything?" What she said was actually reasonable.

Rory glanced at her but didn't say anything. She climbed the stairs upstairs to take what she wanted.
