The entire hall grew quiet as the principal welcomed the newcomer. “The next Alpha of the most powerful North American pack - Jaxon of the Blackstorm Pack, will be joining us this year!” The crowd erupted in hushed murmurs as they shook hands on the stage. Leaning towards me Nina gasped, “Oh my Goddess, he's so HOT!” “He looks dangerous,” I muttered. Grinning mischievously she said, “Exactly. That’s what makes him so hot. I wonder who he’ll be matched with.” Eyeing her strangely I mumbled, “Matched?” “You don't know?” She snickered before she explained, “The Academy’s matching system is used to find an Alpha’s future Luna. Some get matched, others don't.” At a loss for words, I gaped at her while she was poking a page in the handout we received. "I'm reading about it now." “But I am an omega and no Luna?!” Shushing me, she pointed at the principal, trying to regain the crowd's attention. “With the new scholarship program, I’ll explain our special rules again. The Coveted Matching System. After blood testing, the system matches Male Alphas and She-wolves based on physical and mental data. If you don’t get matched, you can improve your stats through studies, competitions, or combat tests. The system has proven for generations that matched pairs produce the strongest heir. Once matched, the she-wolf will move into her Alpha’s dorm, and the two can form a bond before graduation. In addition to regular classes, matched pairs are required to attend mating courses together. She-wolves are only allowed to mate with their designated Alpha. ” “Mating courses?" I baulked in disbelief. Giggling, Nina chirped excitedly, “Yep, good ol' sex.” The principal reminded all new students to complete their blood tests before Thursday evening, and then the results would be announced on Friday evening during the assembly. “This is completely insane,” I murmured. Nina laughed, “Come on, it's better to just get it over with. I’m starving. Let's go to the nurse, get our blood drawn, then head to the cafeteria for some dinner. I will even buy it.” We headed to the nurses' station to finish our blood withdrawal, then Njna told me to follow her to the cafeteria. “Find us a place to sit while I go get us some chow,” she said softly. Nodding I scanned the table and chairs, saw an empty one, and hurried toward it. Just as I was about to sit, I heard my name called then turned to see my ex standing there. He eyed me incredulously and said, “You really went to great lengths to win me back, huh, babe.” I scowled at him as he stepped closer to me. “You won't be matched with anyone here, Sadie,” he then reached out to brush back my bangs before adding, “We could keep seeing each other secretly.” Gobsmacked over his arrogance I laughed mockingly before shoving him away. “I don't care who I'm matched with here but I will NEVER look at you again, Justin,” I growled. As I turned to walk away to another table I realized that Jaxon was standing directly behind me. “Jaxon…,” Justin mumbled nervously. Jaxon smiled coldly, “Hello, little brother.” My eyes widened as I glanced between the pair in shocked confusion. “Hello, little brother,” Jaxon repeated again but in a more mocking tone. Forcing a grin, Justin said, “I didn't expect to see you here.” “Yeah, me either,” Jaxon replied then asked, "How is your father?” Hesitating, Justin answered, “He…he’s fine.” Narrowing his eyes at me Jaxon sneered. “I'm sure he’s doing well, otherwise how could he afford to fulfill your wishes to send your lowborn harlot into the academy?” Jaxon clearly mistook me for Jason’s sugar baby or some girl who bought her way in. Frowning I growled, “Hey, I’m not…” “I was talking to my brother,” Jaxon interrupted with a dangerous tone. I curled my lip angrily and eyed him with disdain. Justin stammered, “I’ve got things to do. I’ll be going now!” and hurried off, leaving me alone with the devil of a man. Jaxon turned to leave, but I called out after him, “Hey, I don’t care who you are, but I got in here with my own abilities!” Jaxon stepped closer, close enough for me to smell his intriguing cologne and feel his breath on my face. “You’re interesting, little white rabbit,” he said with a faint smile. “We’ll meet again.” He then turned and strode off like he was hot shit. “What a self-absorbed butthead,” I muttered, and Stormy snickered in my head.Sadie Simmons pov After we finished eating, I was still rattled by both of the Norris brothers, and Nina suggested that we take a gander around the campus before heading to our dorm room. Wiping my mouth off I shrugged with indifference and made her pout at me. “Don't let your past disrupt your future, Sadie. You are attending a prestigious Academy and this should be the most exciting time of your life,” she stated with a wink. “True, let's go walk under the starlight and check out this amazing place,” I responded. Putting the tray back next to the trash can Nina hooked her arm with mine as she began pulling me toward the exit. “Maybe we can check out the other hunks on campus,” she snickered as I eyed her warily. “I didn't come here for a fling, Nina. I'm here to earn an excellent degree that I can use to secure a great-paying job, preferably away from my marriage-minded dad in another part of the country. Hell, I would even join the human populace if needed,” I growled
Sadie Simmons pov As I stood there eyeing both of them, I noticed small similarities between them. “I'm sure he’s doing well, otherwise how could he afford to fulfill your wishes to send your lowborn harlot into this prestigious academy?” Jaxon clearly mistook me for Jason’s sugar baby or some girl whom he bought her way in. Frowning I growled, “Hey, I’m not…” Lifting his splayed hand before my face I frowned over his rudeness. “I was talking to my brother,” Jaxon interrupted with a dangerous tone. I curled my lip angrily and eyed him with disdain. Justin stammered, “I’ve got things to do. I’ll be going now,” and hurried off, leaving me alone with the devil of a man. Jaxon

Sadie Simmons pov “How did your family afford this place?” She sneered. Rolling my eyes at her I ignored her question and told Nina to continue to our assigned room. Vivian wouldn’t stop her interrogation “Hey, I'm talking to you, peasant! Even if you follow Justin here, he will never take you back!” Turning toward her I laughed coldly. “You can keep that worthless asshole for yourself.” Invested in the drama, Nina asked what was going on so I explained briefly. Laughing, Nina said in reassurance, “What a loser, you're better off without him.” Grinning at her, I nodded and ignoring Vivian completely, waved at Nina to head further down the hall toward our room. When we entered my eyes widened. Scanning the immaculate, fully furnished room, I was pleasantly surprised as we picked our room sides and got situated. My bed was covered in wonderful bedding, and I had a desk with a lamp and a laptop to use. There was a mini fridge that was also fully stocked with every
Sadie Simmons pov After packing my small suitcase, taking only the best of my meager belongings, I lay down on my bed to try and get some sleep. Even though my thoughts were running a mile a minute I managed to get some rest. Stormy woke me the following morning by yipping and howling in my head. Rubbing my eyes I yawned as I got out of my bed. Tiptoeing, careful to get ready, I cringed at hearing my father complaining about wanting his breakfast. “You overslept,” my wolf whined inside my brain while I glanced at the alarm clock. 9:35! Quickly dressing, I ran my fingers through my white hair, then peered out my bedroom window to the street. “You're going to have to face your father, dear. You might as well get it over with,” Stormy suggested. With a frown, I agreed with her. Inhaling deeply, I grabbed my suitcase and purse. Puffing up my chest, and exiting my bedroom, I prepared to face my dad's wrath. As I walked past the kitchen my father's eyes narrowed at me and
Sadie Simmons pov Turning to my dad, I growled, “He was cheating on me with another old classmate of ours!” Pffting at me, he said, “All the rich boys cheat, Sadie. You have to turn your cheek and let them if you want to live a life without worrying about money.” Disgusted I narrowed my eyes at him and growled, “No, I don't. I can make my own money and live for myself, successfully, I might add.” Getting irritated, he waved at my mom and snarled, “Talk to her, she doesn't understand how anything works for us. If she doesn't marry well, I'm disowning her,” before he stormed back into the living room, dismissing me completely. Looking at my mom's frown, her eyes following my father I exhaled softly, not wanting to start a fight between them. I knew that I was second to my brother Michael, who my father adored and, in his eyes, could do nothing wrong. “He doesn't mean that, Sadie. He's just pissed because the landlord raised our rent. Come help me finish the dinner setting,” she s
