MasukSadie Simmons pov
The entire hall grew quiet as the principal welcomed the newcomer. “The next Alpha of the most powerful North American pack - Jaxon of the Blackstorm Pack, will be joining us this year!” The crowd erupted in hushed murmurs as they shook hands on the stage. Leaning towards me Nina gasped, “Oh my Goddess, he's so HOT!” “He looks dangerous,” I muttered. Grinning mischievously she said, “Exactly. That’s what makes him so hot. I wonder who he’ll be matched with.” Eyeing her strangely I mumbled, “Matched?” “You don't know?” She snickered before she explained, “The Academy’s matching system is used to find an Alpha’s future Luna. Some get matched, others don't.” At a loss for words, I gaped at her while she was poking a page in the handout we received. "I'm reading about it now." “But I am an omega and no Luna?!” Shushing me, she pointed at the principal, trying to regain the crowd's attention. “With the new scholarship program, I’ll explain our special rules again. The Coveted Matching System. After blood testing, the system matches Male Alphas and She-wolves based on physical and mental data. If you don’t get matched, you can improve your stats through studies, competitions, or combat tests. The system has proven for generations that matched pairs produce the strongest heir. Once matched, the she-wolf will move into her Alpha’s dorm, and the two can form a bond before graduation. In addition to regular classes, matched pairs are required to attend mating courses together. She-wolves are only allowed to mate with their designated Alpha. ” “Mating courses?" I baulked in disbelief. Giggling, Nina chirped excitedly, “Yep, good ol' sex.” The principal reminded all new students to complete their blood tests before Thursday evening, and then the results would be announced on Friday evening during the assembly. “This is completely insane,” I murmured. Nina laughed, “Come on, it's better to just get it over with. I’m starving. Let's go to the nurse, get our blood drawn, then head to the cafeteria for some dinner. I will even buy it.” We headed to the nurses' station to finish our blood withdrawal, then Njna told me to follow her to the cafeteria. “Find us a place to sit while I go get us some chow,” she said softly. Nodding I scanned the table and chairs, saw an empty one, and hurried toward it. Just as I was about to sit, I heard my name called then turned to see my ex standing there. He eyed me incredulously and said, “You really went to great lengths to win me back, huh, babe.” I scowled at him as he stepped closer to me. “You won't be matched with anyone here, Sadie,” he then reached out to brush back my bangs before adding, “We could keep seeing each other secretly.” Gobsmacked over his arrogance I laughed mockingly before shoving him away. “I don't care who I'm matched with here but I will NEVER look at you again, Justin,” I growled. As I turned to walk away to another table I realized that Jaxon was standing directly behind me. “Jaxon…,” Justin mumbled nervously. Jaxon smiled coldly, “Hello, little brother.” My eyes widened as I glanced between the pair in shocked confusion. “Hello, little brother,” Jaxon repeated again but in a more mocking tone. Forcing a grin, Justin said, “I didn't expect to see you here.” “Yeah, me either,” Jaxon replied then asked, "How is your father?” Hesitating, Justin answered, “He…he’s fine.” Narrowing his eyes at me Jaxon sneered. “I'm sure he’s doing well, otherwise how could he afford to fulfill your wishes to send your lowborn harlot into the academy?” Jaxon clearly mistook me for Jason’s sugar baby or some girl who bought her way in. Frowning I growled, “Hey, I’m not…” “I was talking to my brother,” Jaxon interrupted with a dangerous tone. I curled my lip angrily and eyed him with disdain. Justin stammered, “I’ve got things to do. I’ll be going now!” and hurried off, leaving me alone with the devil of a man. Jaxon turned to leave, but I called out after him, “Hey, I don’t care who you are, but I got in here with my own abilities!” Jaxon stepped closer, close enough for me to smell his intriguing cologne and feel his breath on my face. “You’re interesting, little white rabbit,” he said with a faint smile. “We’ll meet again.” He then turned and strode off like he was hot shit. “What a self-absorbed butthead,” I muttered, and Stormy snickered in my head.Sadie Simmons pov Still in shock from seeing my ex turn into a red mist and heartbroken over Aiden's departure, I scooted from the backseat and frowned slightly as I stood there by Jaxon. Putting his hand on the small of my back he escorted me into our home. My dad's gray eyes narrowed at us as he stood with a drink of liquor in his hand. “Where's Aiden?” Lowering my eyes, I shook my head and stammered, “His dad died, and he left to become Alpha of his inherited pack…He didn't even say goodbye or acknowledge me in any way. He only said to have Jaxon call him when we returned here.” Rubbing my chest after my words I felt tears collecting in my eyes. “He killed his ex-girlfriend under compulsion, maybe he's just a cold-hearted bastard,” Jaxon stated, and I glared at him, having the gall to say such hurtful things. “What? I'm only telling the truth,” he muttered and raised his cellphone. “I'm going to call him out on the back patio,” he added sternly. Waving him off
Sadie Simmons pov Exhaustion. That's what I was feeling throughout my entire body. I had drained my energy completely. Glancing down at my bloody hands in shock I shivered at what I had done and witnessed. Jaxon had been fortunate and had had his back to his brother turning into a red mist. Exhaling deeply I concentrated on not being nauseous. “Should we contact her dad now? Maybe he can help us get cleaned up quicker so we don't have to drive all the way home looking like we massacred a large group,” Aiden commented. “There's a lake up ahead I figured we could just jump in,” Jaxon replied. “Then we will be soaked. I want to get to the Academy. I've already missed my first two classes and a test,” I sighed in disappointment. “The Academy will allow you to make it up,” Aiden informed me. Nodding slowly, I told him that was good to know. I then noticed Jaxon watching me through the rear-view mirror. “I would like to speak with Caspian about what I did. I used a lot of energy
Aiden Shaw pov Phantom howled loudly inside my head suddenly and caused me to trip slightly into Jaxon. “Stormy is sending us a warning. Justin Norris has gone insane and has her tied up at her mom's house. She says to be aware of your surroundings,” I muttered, repeating what my wolf was telling me. “Grim sent me the same. I wonder if we should head back to the car since we are exposed out in the open,” Jaxon huffed as we stood on the sidewalk together. “Yeah, we should,” I answered and followed him back to his car. Getting in, I watched Jaxon's door open, but he stood there as another vehicle pulled up. Leaning forward, my eyes widened as I saw Justin sitting there, grinning behind the wheel of his vehicle. “Hey brother, fancy seeing you here. What do I owe this strange visit for?” “You know damn well why Aiden and I are here and we're going to get Sadie and get her back to the Academy,” Jaxon asserted. “Tsk ask, she doesn't want to be mates with either of you and
Sadie Simmons pov My head hurt and I attempted to reach up to touch the painful area, but quickly furrowed my brow. My arm wasn't moving, making me frustrated. Opening my eyes abruptly I saw that I was tied to my old bed. Glancing around I noticed that I was in my old bedroom at home and grew irritated. “Why am I here?” I questioned in confusion then heard the door open. “Oh honey, keep still. You have a head injury and need to remain calm,” my mom said firmly. “Mom?” I muttered, utterly perplexed. She came to my side and dabbed a wet washcloth on my head causing me to wince from the sharp stabbing pain. “I'm so happy that you and Justin worked it out,” she quipped. Shaking my head slightly I muttered painfully, “No, we haven't worked out anything. Where did you hear that?” “He brought you here, dear, and told me everything. Plus, he said that he would take good care of you, along with all my needs as well. He's such a good kid,” she said happily. “Mom! Listen to me. Pleas
Jaxon Norris pov A large hand felt around my chest, ending on my face, waking me. Glancing at Aiden in the dark and seeing the empty space between us I shoved him awake. “Huh, what?" He muttered tiredly. “Sadie is not here,” I growled. “Maybe she went to her room to sleep as you should do,” he asserted as he rolled over, giving me his back. Grim whined loudly in my head, “She's NOT in the house.” My eyes widened instantly as I jumped from the bed and shouted for Aiden to get up. “Sadie's been taken! Grim tells me she is not here!” Rolling over, Aiden rubbed his eyes and growled, “Your brother broke in and took her?” “I don't know? Did you lock the front door when you came in?!” Seeing fear enter his eyes, I said, “Let's go, and find our mate!” Slipping on my jeans, I waited for him to hurry, then I paused a moment and sniffed the air. “Follow me,” I growled as I hurried after the fresh showered scent of my mate heading down the stairs. Following Sadie's smell, I ended up
Sadie Simmons pov “I will head to the security office and see what I can do to help out Aiden. In the meantime, you two stick together and stay safe, “ Caspian asserted as he stood to leave. “Thanks Dad,” I said sullenly, causing him to nod and grin slightly. “Looks like your house staff has already left. I will lock the front door on my way out,” he added, then left Jaxon and me sitting at the dinette. Both our cellphones dinged, and I pulled mine from my pocket, then gasped. “Classes will resume tomorrow at regular time. Any testing that was scheduled for today will be done tomorrow per the Wolfcrest Alpha Academy.” “Guess they believe that Aiden Shaw is the person responsible,” Jaxon huffed as he rubbed his eyes. “Could he actually be?” I questioned and he eyed me callously. “No, I don't believe that,” he growled. “Well, what should we do? We have the entire day and night,” I muttered and glanced up to hear him chuckling. Raising my brow I asked what he found so
