Kellan let go of Kaden’s neck. He released him and Kaden’s body hit the ground with a heavy thud. He groaned and scooted backwards, dragging himself away from Kellan’s wolf, just in case it wanted to attack him again.

Blood dripped from the side of his neck, soaking his skin and staining the grass beneath him. His hand clutched his wound like he was trying to hold his own throat together. I could see the raw flesh and the deep cut across his veins and it was such a horrible sight. I felt satisfied to see him injured and in pain. His healing had already started but I could tell it would take time, a whole lot of time before his neck could be fully healed.

His face was so pale and sweat rolled down his forehead as he leaned weakly against a tree, his face twisted in pain and agony.

Kellan, now in his human form too, fell to his knees. His chest rose and fell slowly as he was struggling to breath.He looked completely weak and spent.
