It was almost seven when Lucas and Emily stood at the entrance to the huge hall for check-in. They had called their father ahead to alert him of their presence.

After checking in, they walked into the grand hall. It was filled with excitement. The guests, dressed to the nines, and Lucas and Emily were not left out. They were as charming as always in their Caribbean wear. One of the reasons their father always kept them with him on occasions like that.

Anyways, the guests mingled and chatted over champagne and canapés. The sound system pulsed with upbeat music. Some guests were already on the dance floor swaying to the beats. Waiters were busy touching every corner with trays of small chops, and fine wines. The people's faces were filled with smiles, especially the Mayor and his family as the guests threw in happy birthdays from every corner.

Lucas and his sister were sipping champagne already when they saw their father and waved. Emily whispered to his brother, “Big bro, br

After their laughter, Diana said, “As I said earlier, Emily let him sleep here.” Emily frowned. “I felt uncomfortable with that. How would it help his case?” “Think about it,” Diana said quickly. “If we take him home and your dad finds out his plan failed, he might try something worse next time. But if Lucas stays here, it’ll be easy to make it look like he spent the night with a girl. Your dad will think his plan worked.” Emily hesitated, processing it. The logic made uncomfortable sense. “But…” she said, voice dropping, “what if it wasn’t my dad? What if someone else is targeting him—someone we don’t even know about?” Her eyes shimmered with fear. “What if this is bigger than we think?” “In that case, let’s just get him another room,” Diana said quickly, already dialing. As the phone rang, she paced a little. “Hello, Bella? It’s Diana. I need a room at the lodge—urgently. My friend is intoxicated. Please send a porter with the key now, and I’ll sort the payment immed

Meanwhile, the moment Emily heard Alex say her brother had been drugged, her heart shattered. She screamed, emotion tightening her throat. “Holy crap! What kind of father did the universe curse us with, for God’s sake? Why can’t he just leave my brother alone?” A hot tear slipped down her cheek. She wiped it away roughly and stormed off toward the lodge passageway, fury in every step. Her best friend, Diana, who had noticed the sudden shift in her mood from across the room, hurried after her. “Emily! What’s going on? Why are you yelling like you’re about to explode?” Emily didn’t stop. “I’m tired, Diana, so damn tired. If I had his kind of heart, I swear I would have ended that man a long time ago!” “What happened?” Diana asked, breathless as she caught up. “Lucas has been drugged!” Emily snapped. Diana froze in her tracks. “What?! Again? Who?” “Who else could be behind it?” Emily said bitterly, her jaw clenched. “The answer got my father’s name written all ove

When they finally broke apart, breathless and flushed, Lucas giggled like a mischievous child. “Oh my cutie… where have you been all my life?” he whispered, his voice thick with want and mischief. Then, with a playful glint in his dimmed eyes, he added, “I think I’m ready to lose my virginity.” “What?” The question escaped Alex's lips as he blinked, stunned at how simple it came out of his mouth. Lucas chortled nonchalantly. “I’m serious, didn't my old man give you your job description?" He said as he stumbled toward the bed, dragging Alex along by the hand with his unsteady legs. “Come on, cutie, I’m all yours. I’ll pay you—ten times whatever my old man offered you for this gig. Just don’t stop kissing me, I like you.” He collapsed onto the bed with a drunken chuckle, tugging at Alex’s wrist like an eager child demanding candy. “You smell so good… your lips taste like lollipops. I don’t want the lollipops to finish.” he laughed drunkenly. Alex stood frozen for a second, h

The girl shook in fear and muttered, “I'm sorry, sir.” He stepped closer to her and said in a low tone, “I hate repeating myself girl. Stop wasting my time and speak up,” Alex blasted with gritted teeth, raising his voice. Seduced him and what?” “Seduce and fuck him.” She responded with a shaky voice. “I'm sorry sir, I was just paid for that. I didn't know what they gave him. I was not even there when they gave him whatever they…” “Enough!” Alex barked, his voice cutting through the tension like a blade. “So you accepted some dough and came here to rape an unconscious man? What the heck is wrong with you? If he were your brother, would it be okay for someone to use him like that? You have no conscience. No heart.” “I… I’m sorry,” the girl stammered, already trembling. “Save it. I don’t care how sorry you think you are. Now talk, who sent you?” “I don’t know his name,” she said quickly. “He wore a face cap, low. I couldn’t see his face well. Please, just let me go. I’

Meanwhile, after Alex stepped into the club, he made his way to Jason's usual section. His thoughts kept hovering around the guy who bumped into him earlier and why he looked familiar. He had the feeling that they had met before but couldn't place it. He tried to get it off his chest as he focused on the people enjoying themselves on the dance floor. He was beginning to enjoy the lively energy around them when Larrisa suddenly appeared at their table. Without so much as a glance at him or Jason, she greeted the two other guys politely, then turned, hips swaying dramatically as she walked away like they didn’t exist. Jason raised a brow and leaned toward his cousin. “Bro… what just happened?” Alex chuckled, clearly amused. “What just happened is a good thing—someone finally learned how to behave.” They both burst into laughter. Still grinning, Alex casually scanned the crowd, until his eyes caught someone familiar. His smile vanished. Sitting alone at a table near th
