“Welcome Miss,”

The maids standing in front of the house chorused in greeting, as Maya sauntered past them with her head held high.

Even though she was scared of what she would find, even though her eyes darted past the maids to stare into the large living room, she still had to put on an image of someone who is not affected or afraid.

“Take those up to my room,” she ordered the bodyguards who ordered and made their way up the stair.

Maya turned back to the maids, “Is the master in the house?” She asked, her voice low.

“No, ma’am.”

Maya sucked in a huge breath but the maid was not done.

“He’s outside the house, by the pond.” She finally concluded, looking at Maya with large innocent eyes.

Maya almost cursed with relief, “Well, why did g you just start with that at first?” She gritted at the maid, who was taken aback by her answer.

Hilda quickly stepped forward, dismissing the maid with a nod of her head.

“It would be wise if you don’t think of maltreatin
