Chapter 5

Adrianna White

I froze when I saw Lorenzo Demario. What's worse is that his hand was holding my wrist tight like he was scared to let go.

I tried to remove my hand from his grasp but he held still. He looks like he's in a trance of some sort.

Just as I am about to meet his eyes,my eyes land on his wrist and I let out a gasp when I see the bracelet on his wrist.

The bracelet was on his right hand,where mine also was.

He was clutching my right hand tightly and so I could see his wrist clearly.

We were wearing the same bracelets except he had "Adri" on it and mine had "Loren" on it.

I let out a gasp, struggling to breathe.

The only thing I could focus on was his eyes,his green forest eyes drawing me to him.

They were all I could see,all I could think of.

I felt the world fading away. My eyes still stuck on his. It felt like I needed to look at him to breathe.

I removed my eyes from his, having a flashback from our childhood.

We were running together in his backyard.

Suddenly I twist my ankle,

I was falling from a great height,I resigned myself to falling.

In the blink of an eye,Loren is there to help me.

I feel tears fill up my eyes,I struggle to hold them back.

"I'll always be here to catch you before you fall Adri, I promise.

I just gave him a kiss on his cheek before running away.

I look at him all grown now and think,"Would he catch me before I fall now or would he see me fall"

I moved away from him,I noticed people staring at us and I cleared my throat awkwardly.

I fumbled with my apron before regaining my professionalism.

"Hello and welcome to Cafe Delight", I muttered trying to sound cherry.

"What would you like to order?"I asked, putting on a fake smile.

I see the guy I stabbed last night trying to hold back his smile.

I pin him with a glare so ferocious that any trace of a smile on his face died down and I was the one with the smile now while he looked constipated.

I noticed Lorenzo Chuckling and I felt a blush cover my cheeks.

I looked away before mumbling," I'll be back to take your orders"

I continue serving other customers, cleaning the tables and wiping the floor.

I see Lorenzo motion towards me to come.

"Have you decided what you'll get now sir", I asked grimly.

Wanting to stay as far away from him as possible.

He motions for me to lean down and I do

I hear a gruff voice in my ear saying,"Surprise me"

The voice sends tingles down my spine and I fight the urge to clench my thighs together.

The thigh guy ordered a coffee.

"I will show him", I thought, fuming.

He thinks he can come to the cafe and play me for a fool.

"Surprise him he said, well get ready to be surprised kind sir", I smirked before letting out an evil laughter.

I looked around to see if anyone saw me but I saw the whole crowd at the cafe staring at me.

I felt so mortified, casting down my gaze to the floor.

I served Lorenzo a blueberry milkshake and tarts while the thigh guy got a coffee and a pie.

I could see the thigh guy trying to hold in a laugh at his boss's choice of food.

I saw Lorenzo send him a glare before his laughter completely wipes off,no sign of it anywhere.

I bite my lip to stop myself from smiling.

Looking at my feet,I feel a pair of eyes on me and I look up only to see Lorenzo staring at me with a hint of amusement.

I rolled my eyes before walking to the back to drop my phone.

I come back out shortly, feeling Lorenzo's eyes on me throughout.

I walk back into the staff room for my break. I grabbed a tart and a blueberry smoothie, watching Lorenzo watch me from the corner of my eye.

As I entered,I could feel Daniel's eyes roam around my body. I felt myself tremble in fear. I'd have resigned but I desperately needed this job.

"Look Daniel I'm sorry for slapping you yesterday but I didn't feel comfortable with whatever you were trying to do" I muttered out with my head down.

"I shouldn't have done that Adrianna", He said giving me a tight lipped smile with his arm around my shoulder.

I saw Daniel staring at me but I didn't really pay him any mind, settling for a smile instead.

I rushed out after finishing my food. I continued serving and cleaning the tables.

By 6:30,the cafe had started emptying out. I decided to pack my things. My shift was over.

I walked into the staff room. I grabbed my bag. I couldn't find my jacket. I kept on searching around for it.

I was on my hands and knees on the floor looking for it under the shelves when i heard the door open and shut,I assumed it was a light breeze.

I continued searching until I heard a click.

The door had been locked. I jumped up hurriedly to hear a click.

Feeling tense and unsafe,I decided to check for the jacket tomorrow. As I'm about to leave,I feel a hand wrap around my waist and draw me to them.

I let out a gasp." W…what are you doing Daniel", I whimpered out.

He just gave me a sick smile.

"Do you know how long I've wanted to

touch you like this?"He said, trailing a hand down my Cleavage

I felt disgust well up within me. I struggled against him.

"Someone save me, please help me", I shouted and screamed pounding on the door.

He dragged me by my clothes before ripping the sleeve away.

I trembled still trying to escape before he ripped the second sleeve. I kept on shouting.

He pulled his pants down. Just as I was about to give up hope,the door burst open and my knight in shining armor or should I say shining suit barged in.

I tried to keep my eyes open. I heard the sounds of someone roaring something out, hitting something or should I say someone.

I could feel my eyes closing. I tried to stay awake but the darkness was threatening to take me.

My eyes landed on Daniel's bloody body before I succumbed to the darkness, falling into its welcoming hands.

Last thing I saw were those ethereal green eyes.
