Chapter 2: Mr. Atwood, My Fate

“Sir, excuse us! This girl is not yours, it’s him” 

Mr. Henry explained to the new charming vampire who appeared to be my fate tonight in a gentle voice. At the time, Henry stood nearby, hands in the air, signaling the man to let me go. 

“We’re still looking for perfect female candidates to be your feeder, sir. Hopefully, we’ll find the girl sooner!” 

“You expected the best of the best, right?” 

Mr. Henry flashed him a toothed smile, but the new vampire said nothing. The hazel-eyed man then began to cast his gaze at me who was standing right behind him, at the time he felt sorry for me.

My lips trembled from holding the pain in my cheeks and face down to the floor; I didn’t dare to look at what was in front of me because I was afraid of being handed over to those heartless guys again.

“I’ll take her!” Mr. Vampire said. 

His words astounded everyone in the room, including me who immediately took my gaze away from the floor. I was perplexed as those words escaped his rosy lips; I stared at his marvelous hazel eyes with questions in them. 

“I don’t get it, sir” Mr. Henry stuttered, too stunned to speak.

“How much did that man offer to get this girl?” Mr. Vampire inquired; his right hand already in his pocket at the time, he grabbed something. “I’m sure I can pay more!” He said. 

The presence of this new person disturbed the green-eyed vampire; his forehead was as tight as his suit at the time; the man then broke his silence. 

“That’s none of your business, she’s mine!” The green-eyed vampire growled. 

“Well, for that, I apologize because I think she’s the right feeder for me! Tell me the price, Henry” Mr. Vampire forced and he was all set to write the amount on the check paper.

“Sir, you don’t have to do this! I can find you a better female feeder than this one” Mr. Henry tried to explain that he had sold me.

“Tell me the price!” Mr. Vampire raised his voice causing Henry the guy who tricked me earlier to lift his shoulders.

His desire for money made him unable to refuse, but Henry used his cleverness to get more cash from the new vampire. As the new man asked the price, Henry kept quiet and not telling him the price so that the new man can decide the price by himself if he wanted me badly.

I can’t let Henry rob this nice man, so I break the silence despite my inability to speak due to my pain. I then tell the man that the designated vampire paid 100K to get me, but the first vampire disproved it.

“My bid was 300K! If you have that amount of cash, maybe we can talk about it, right, Henry? Like it or not, I will accept my refund if your bid is higher than mine” The green-eyed vampire proudly said; his brow was raised as he looked at the new man.

What an asshole, Henry turned out to swallow up 70% of the sales and let me keep 100K so that he can sell me again to another vampire and get more profits. That was what he did to my big sister before she finds a female vampire as her master. 

Unbelievably, I still trust him after all of this, but if Clarke stood on her stance as I did, I might not be able to finish my education like I’m now.

Anxiety began to grip me as I heard the first vampire’s actual bid. I was terrified, thinking that if the new man couldn’t afford the price, Mr. Henry will take me away and hand me to the green-eyed vampire. 

Mr. Vampire sighed and returned the paper check to his pocket, indicating that he disagreed with the bid. I burst into tears when I realized he wasn’t my fate.

My life will fall apart even more if he didn’t save me tonight and I’ll be in hell; I don’t have enough money to pay Clarke’s bail, the landlord will kick me out if I don’t pay the rent and I don’t even have enough money to feed myself if Henry refuses to pay because I botched the deal.

The green-eyed vampire smirked. Mr. Henry started ordering his guards to get me after noticing the new man couldn’t afford the bid. After receiving his order, the guards rush over to me, locking me up and rendering me powerless.

“No, please, no” I started to cry when I felt those biceps wrap around my arms; they were hard and powerful, incomparable to my 100 pounds body weight.

I lost hope; all I could think about was Mr. Vampire letting those people take me and the dream of becoming his feeder vanished when he refused to look me in the eyes.

I saw the light in his eyes when I looked at them, not to be too confident but he seemed interested in me. But in the end, he didn’t choose me, which breaks my heart and I can’t force him because that’s what he decides. Furthermore, we have no ties.

“Get off me! You’re hurting me” I begged the guards to release those biceps grip from me, at least, loosen them so that I can normally breathe.

At that moment, I had my feet firmly planted on the ground to resist being taken away and Mr. Vampire intervened to stop the guards from dragging me away from where I was standing.

He reached over my wrist and held it, eyes down to the ground before he runs it to the guards; Mr. Vampire can’t help to hear a tiny, powerless, poor girl crying and begging for help, with eyes stabbing the guards, he then told them to release me, growling.

“This girl is not yours, sir. Please, let them take her” Mr. Henry’s blood started boiling, but he kept being nice because he didn’t want to lose his client. 

“This man is wasting my precious time! Take my feeder to the bedroom, right now!” The green-eyed vampire commanded angrily but subtly; he then started making his way upstairs.

Mr. Vampire was still holding my wrist at the time and I felt the pain of his grip when the guards tried to take me, Mr. Vampire then breaks his silence when he noticed me whimpering in pain.

“I will pay 400K for this girl” He declared. 

His declaration stopped the green-eyed vampire, who at that time was just about to reach the stairs, he turned around in anger and disbelief that somebody had beat him. 

“But before I give you the cash, I have some requests!” Mr. Vampire said; the atmosphere became tense afterward. 

“Okay, I’m listening…” Mr. Henry replied with heavy breath; his eyes pointed at the hazel-eyed vampire.

“After you received the payment, I want you and your men to stay away from this girl, especially the guy right there!” Mr. Vampire pointed to the first vampire with his index finger, staring at him in rage. 

Mr. Henry nodded in agreement, but not with the first vampire who seemed still had issues with me; he was not willing to lose. 

The vampire then said that this is a breach of contract because the feeders’ distributor cannot cancel the contract after the agreement has been signed.

“I haven’t signed the contract yet, so this isn’t a breach! All right, Mr. Henry?” I raised an eyebrow, closing the first vampire’s mouth with my argument, despite the fact that I was just a feeder; I was as educated as the vampires.

“Yes, she’s right! I’m sorry, the girl belongs to him” Mr. Henry replied and he was faking his gloomy face because as I know he never cares about those clients, all he cares is about money. 

I can’t hide to show the world the smile that had been stored in me even if it was just a little smile, I was relieved and my stuffy chest now vanished. Mr. Vampire then commanded his guards to bring the bag of cash which was still in his car, turned out that all this time his guards were waiting outside and that’s why none of the men here dares to attack him.

They handed the cash to Mr. Henry and my eyes were bulging when I saw it, this was my first time seeing that amount of cash, I would easily pay my sister’s bail if the cash were mine, but unfortunately, I will get nothing from Henry, but I least I’m safe with my new master. 

“You satisfied now?” Mr. Vampire inquired. 

“I apologized for the delay, Mr. Levi Atwood, enjoy your unlimited food!” With a huge smile on his face, Mr. Henry replied; he then commanded his guards to keep the bag of cash in his office safely.

Henry won a jackpot from selling a nineteen years old girl after tricking her and giving her nothing; I can explain how satisfied he was by just looking at his foxy eyes. This man is nothing but a rat.

Levi Atwood’s guards then made their way toward me. They are standing next to me and all set to walk me out of Henry’s house. At the time, there are two guards in the location, not sure how many guards he had outside. 

After knowing this man came from the Atwood family by noticing his last name, bliss can’t stop stabbing my chest, I was hard to breathe because I was too excited to have a new life and a master like him. 

The Atwood is the richest family alive, having ruled the city financially since feeders first appeared in the vampire world. I heard from friend to friend that the Atwood ancestor lived in the human world before returning to this world, which is how they modernize the vampire world.

But, as far as I’m aware, all Atwood are females and I’ve never seen this lovely hazel-eyed Atwood before. They may be hidden from public view but there wasn’t anyone in the city who didn’t know them.
