Legend of the Moon Goddess
With the information of Rem being my mate, Elder Roz invited us both to sit down near her. “There are many tales of different werewolves throughout history that have been born special compared to the rest of us,” she explained as she was trying to recall the old legends that were passed down through the generations of her pack.
I nodded slowly as I listened intently to the older woman. “When I was young, Hunters killed my pack. My mother was human and could escape with me, but because of that, I don’t really know a lot,” I explained quietly. “All I know is that as a half-blood, I sometimes only half transform, so my wolf ears and tail poke out, but I can fully transform as well. Oh, and that the Moon Goddess gives us each a soul mate upon birth,” I added.
Elder Roz nodded her head slowly. “Jake, get us all a nice cuppa tea,” she asked with a warm smile. “Or coffee if the Hunter prefers coffee,” she added.

Visiting the other surviving members of the other packs, I learned a little more about the ritual from their elders as well, though they could tell me little more than what Elder Roz had already told me. I could feel their sorrows over the loss of their alpha and luna just as much as I had felt Roz’s loss. He hadn’t given away what he was planning in his thoughts or his heart, but I knew Rem was up to something and it was my fault.
